FADE IN For generations you ve slept... No purpose... No call to wake you. EXT. EARTH (JUNGLE) - NIGHT A Grineer shuttle descends through the upper atmosphere. But now, something has risen from the ruins of the Old War. The shuttle approaches a landing pad at an overgrown Grineer dam. Grineer Marines patrol the perimeter, restless. CAPTAIN VOR jumps out of the shuttle before it touches the ground, and storms toward the jungle. He is adorned in metal plates and tubes, his legs cybernetic and rusted, and a void key glows, embedded in his chestplate. As he approaches the jungle, BORIL angrily approaches, shouting at Captain Vor. He wears standard Grineer light armor. BORIL You shouldn t be here, old man. This is my prize! Captain Vor turns to him and grunts. Boril shoves Captain Vor. BORIL Are you listening to me? It s mine! Captain Vor turns to Boril, and in the same motion implants a Nervo in Boril s chest. As Boril collapses to the ground, convulsing, Captain Vor turns to his guards. Let s go. Captain Vor ventures deeper into the dense Orokin jungle. The Twin Queens, the sisters, have sent their most beloved commander, Vor, on an urgent mission. To protect the twisted crusade they have begun...
CONTINUED: 2. Captain Vor and a dozen guards approach an Orokin Void Gate. The Gate ripples with nothingness, showing dark space beyond it. Captain Vor grunts and clenches his fist as they approach....to transform the scattered colonies into an Empire. To see that the Tenno, hidden an asleep, will never awaken. Captain Vor stops at the Gate, and eyes it with hatred. He signals his guards forward. Bring it out! Grineer Marines carry emerge from behind the dozen guards, carrying a Torsion Beam Device. As they place it before the Void Gate, Captain Vor walks to the control panel and inserts the void key into the device. A beam of light shoots into the Gate, and the dark space beyond the gate forms into an Orokin Sanctuary, where sits THE PLAYER, asleep in a cryopod high atop the Sanctuary, their sarcophagus built into the ceremonial mural. Several open cryopods dot the floor around the Sanctuary. The player chooses their first Warframe. The Player s Warframe awakens within the Cryopod. Wake up, Tenno. Outside the cryopod, Captain Vor and his guards rip the cryopod off the mural, and it, with The Player inside, crashes to the ground. Grineer Marines surround the cryopod as Captain Vor belittles The Player. I see the Lotus has tried to wake you... Pity she s to late... The surrounding Marines tear open the cryopod doors. Captain Vor attaches an Ascaris Device to The Player as they look around, confused....you re my prize now, Tenno. Captain Vor turns and walks back toward the Void Gate. His guards prepare to shoot The Player, still struggling to wake up, but Captain Vor stops them.
CONTINUED: 3. No! We are taking this one with us. The Grineer Marines lean into the cryopod to restrain The Player and carry him away. What has he done to you? I can t lose another Tenno! I am surging your Warframe s power systems. Void energy flows into The Player s Warframe, sending jets of lightning venting into the air. As the Grineer Marines freeze in terror, The Player punches their fist through the nearest Grineer. The channeled energy disintegrates the Marine. The Player vaults out of the cryopod, and uses parkour and gun-kata to mow down each Grineer in sequence. The Player takes control as more Grineer pour through the Gate. Quick, use your power, Tenno! Defend yourself! The Player learns all four abilities in sequence. (Player is invincible during this time.) A extraction ship is on it s way, but the Grineer will be hunting you. Arm yourself. The Void Gate powers down. The Player proceeds forward to sprint and jump over a small gap. On the other side they are presented with a choice of melee weapons. The Player learns basic movement and melee controls. The Player proceeds to cut down the last guards outside the Void Gate with their first melee weapon. The Player proceeds through the jungle toward the overgrown Grineer dam, where they cut their way through the unsuspecting guards. The Player learns how to stealth-kill. There s a cache of weapons ahead. Grab what you can. On the other side of the dam within a small control room the player is given their choice of starter weapons.
CONTINUED: 4. The player learns basic aim and fire mechanics. Good, there s an extraction ship not far up ahead. Hurry before Vor finds out you ve escaped. A few Grineer Marines near the shuttle spot The Player, and open fire. The Player cuts them down, and proceeds further further into the overgrown Grineer dam. Salvage Team, why have you not reported in? The Player learns slide mechanics. The Player enters the Grineer dam to find containers along the walls. Take what you can. You will require resources to build yourself into a diverse and effective warrior. The Player learns about resource caches and containers. Moving outside the dam, The Player watches a Liset fly over the base. You made it. There s the extraction ship. As the Liset approaches the dam, a beam of light pulses from the ground and through the Liset. As the Liset crashes to the ground, destroyed, Captain Vor belittles the player from a nearby balcony, his void key smoking from shooting the beam. You re not ready to face Vor now. Use your melee weapon to block the beam and get inside. The Player learns blocking mechanics, and proceeds further into the Grineer compound around the dam. My decrepit heart is pounding! This one is stronger than the rest. Lock the area down! This Tenno is mine.
CONTINUED: 5. Quick - get to a console and release the lockdown. Do that, and I will guide you to your old ship. It s your only chance. The Player learns object interaction. The Queens want to destroy you, but I need to know more. Get out of there, Tenno! You will have to face Vor another time - when you re fully restored. Grineer, my sons, prepare the reinforcements! We need that Tenno! The Player proceeds through the compound to a bombed-out building, impassable by foot. A Tenno flows like fire over the battle terrain - do you remember how to flow? The Player learns basic parkour mechanics to traverse the gap. Upon the other side on a few containers, the Player chooses their first primary weapon. I m not sure what Vor has done to your Warframe, but we cannot remove it now. Just keep going - your ship is up ahead. The player continues to cut through squads of Grineer as they make their way into a dark cavern. At the far end of the cavern, a light shines down through a large hole in the ceiling upon The Player s Liset, tangled in a Grineer crane above a platform. There it is - your ship. Hurry, Vor s reinforcements are on their way. The Player approaches the ship.
CONTINUED: 6. Disengage the suppression system so we can restart the ship - you ll have to bypass the security on that panel. The Player learns Hacking mechanics. The ship hums to life. ORDIS, appearing as a cracked geometric ship, shouts at the player. ORDIS (V.O) Stop touching me, you - what? Are my sensors deceiving me? Operator, is that you?! Enemy reinforcements are here! Ship Cephalon, we require immediate extraction. ORDIS (V.O) (Flustered) The Operator is in danger? I will need a few moments to cycle the engines... The Player defends their ship against waves of Grineer as Ordis struggles to activate the Liset. Tenno, are you afraid? You can t hide from these old eyes... I ve marked you. You will return to me. After a short timer, the Liset s engines burst to life. Tenno, the ship is ready. It s time to leave. The Liset s insertion pod rotates open, and The Player steps inside. A few moments later, the Liset s engines cut away the Grineer crane, and position the Liset to face the large hole in the ceiling. With a cacophonous bang, the Liset explodes toward the sky, and enters orbit in moments. The Player is safe... For now.
