From Imagination To Impact

I m excited to give you a glimpse inside Standard Textile s innovation process.

Letter from Gary Heiman President & CEO Standard Textile s commitment to helping customers succeed drives us to continually develop innovative solutions that deliver exceptional value. As the leading global, vertically integrated provider of technology-driven textiles and total management solutions, innovation is deeply embedded in our DNA. We understand the role our products play in healthcare and hospitality environments. By continuously engaging with our customers, we also understand the evolving challenges they face. That s why we re passionate about creating innovative products and technologies that provide never-beforeimagined benefits. Two facilities that support our innovation process are the Global Institute for Innovation & Leadership (GIIL) and CORE. GIIL is a special environment used to drive exploration, discovery, and creative solutions. As a companion, CORE is a world-class center designed to rapidly move an idea from concept to execution. Both of these facilities support our mission to revolutionize the textile experience by providing end-to-end solutions that maximize quality, efficiency, and value. Innovation cannot exist without a customer. If you share our desire to pursue forward-thinking opportunities, we invite you to spend time with us. Together, we ll roll up our sleeves and create the next groundbreaking advancement. Best personal regards,

Global Institute for Innovation and Leadership At the Global Institute for Innovation & Leadership (GIIL), our goal is to continuously discover, explore, and create positive outcomes for our customers, and professional growth opportunities for our associates. Located on the campus of our World Headquarters, GIIL is designed to foster collaboration and creativity. GIIL s flexible, informal environment offers both large and small collaborative areas where teams can comfortably engage in the innovation process. STC Innovate! is the innovation process we use at GIIL which draws influence from Design Thinking a creative problem-solving approach. Our focus at GIIL includes strategic planning, product design, service design, process improvement, education, and leadership development. We also encourage customers and partners to collaborate with us in solving mutual business challenges.

The CORE is a one-of-a-kind, world-class textile development and processing center. Home of the industry s most advanced product development capabilities, visitors can actually see a product move from concept to execution. Textile Processing and Operations Center

Advanced Concept Development Center Textile Processing and Operations Center The Advanced Concept Development Center is a miniature, yarn-forward vertical textile manufacturing facility. We can incorporate or duplicate the same elements of fabric formation as any of our manufacturing plants around the world. Using custom-engineered and custom-built machinery, all of the materials created in the CORE are fully scalable to our manufacturing operations. This one-ofa-kind development laboratory showcases our unique capability for high-speed, low-cost prototyping. The Textile Processing and Operations Center is a fullscale commercial laundering operation. Used for testing and evaluating fabrics and products in development, we can duplicate precisely what the fabric will be exposed to in the field. The Center facilitates a full understanding of processing as experienced by institutional customers. The Center also utilizes Standard Textile s proprietary IT system that captures real-time utility usage and other information, including water, natural gas, electricity, and thermal heat. This actionable data uncovers opportunities to lower operational costs and optimize the laundering process while maintaining consistent quality. Advanced Concept Development Center

Performance Measurement and Validation Laboratory

Performance Measurement and Validation Laboratory Prototype Production Center The Performance Measurement and Validation Laboratory is a state-of-the-art, comprehensive testing facility for textiles. This centralized resource incorporates product development and evaluation, quality assurance testing, customer-generated product investigations, and customer requests. A broad spectrum of tests can be administrated to assess products for physical and performance attributes. The Prototype Production Center is a multi-faceted fabrication facility that delivers complete product design packages to our manufacturing operations. Our highly skilled group of master craftsmen replicate production of our sewn products. We determine the most advantageous, cost-effective methods of fabrication, and provide a launch point for finished product specifications. Prototype Production Center

Engineering Breakthrough Solutions CENTIUM CORE TECHNOLOGY

We knew that our customers needed not just a stronger, more durable product but one that could also be softer and more desirable. Richard Stewart Corporate Vice President of Product Development & Sustainability Operational costs in healthcare and hospitality environments are extraordinary, particularly as they relate to the number of textiles used and processed daily. An idea to help customers achieve operational savings took shape in the mind of Gary Heiman, President & CEO. He recognized that to reduce replacement costs of textiles, customers needed a stronger, more durable product that would endure the stresses and rigors of institutional laundering and processing. Gary also recognized that end users desire textile products that are soft and comforting, so he set on a course to develop a technology that would fulfill both needs. Centium Core is the result of that mission. Centium Core Technology is a fabric formation technology that reconfigures the base yarns of a woven fabric. Onehundred percent cotton yarn encapsulates Centium synthetic microfilament bundles. Up to that point, it was unheard of to try to incorporate synthetic fibers with cotton a combination comparable to oil and water. This unique construction delivers unsurpassed durability, longevity, and a soft touch, since the greatest number of yarns touching the skin are cotton. 3D Model Of Centium Core Technology Terry Fabric Centium Core Technology has become a key innovation platform. Standard Textile has engineered and designed a full range of terry, sheeting, and other products that utilize this innovative weaving technology. Since the launch of Centium Core products, customers have achieved significant savings due to reduced replacement costs and lower operational expenses, while maintaining the feel and luster of cotton.
