Safety Warnings and Precautions WARNING: When using tool, basic safety precautions should always be followed to reduce the risk of personal injury and damage to equipment. 5. Do not force tool. It will do the job better and more safely at the rate for which it was intended. Do not use inappropriate attachments in an attempt to exceed the tool capacity. 6. Use the right tool for the job. Do not attempt to force a small tool or attachment to do the work of a larger industrial tool. There are certain applications for which this tool was designed. Do not modify this tool and do not use this tool for a purpose for which it was not intended. 7. Dress properly. Do not wear loose clothing or jewelry as they can be caught in moving parts. Protective, electrically non-conductive clothes and non-skid footwear are recommended when working. Wear restrictive hair covering to contain long hair. 8. Use eye and ear protection. Always wear ANSI approved impact safety goggles. Wear a full face shield if you are producing metal filings or wood chips. Wear an ANSI approved dust mask or respirator when working around metal, wood, and chemical dusts and mists. 9. Do not overreach. Keep proper footing and balance at all times. Do not reach over or across running machines. 10. Maintain tools with care. Keep tools clean for better and safer performance. 11. Stay alert. Watch what you are doing, use common sense. Do not operate any tool when you are tired. 12. Take caution as some woods contain preservatives such as copper chromium arsenate (CCA) which can be toxic. When cutting these materials extra care should be taken to avoid inhalation and minimize skin contact. 13. Check for damaged parts. Before using any tool, any part that appears damaged should be carefully checked to determine that it will operate properly and perform its intended function. Any part that is damaged should be properly repaired or replaced by a qualified technician. 14. Replacement parts and accessories. When servicing, use only identical replacement parts. Use of any other parts will void the warranty. Only use accessories intended for use with this tool. Approved accessories are available from Harbor Freight Tools. 15. Do not operate tool if under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Read warning labels on prescriptions to determine if your judgment or reflexes are impaired while taking drugs. Unpacking When unpacking, check to make all parts listed on Page 5 are included. If any parts are missing or broken, please call Harbor Freight Tools at the number on the cover of this manual. Operation All Parts and their Numbers refer to the Parts and Assembly Diagrams on Pages 5 through 7 of this manual. 1. Connect the three Legs [1] to the Junction Bracket [5] as shown in Diagram 1 on Page 6, so that the Adjusting Cuff is facing upwards. Secure using 12 of the Small Screws [11]. 2. Fit the Plastic Feet [3] over the bottom of the three Legs. 3. Connect the Cross Braces [2] to the insides of the Legs as shown in Diagram 3. Fasten using the Small Screw and Nut Sets [12] and six of the Small Washers [14] included. 4. Connect the Roller Support Bar [10] to the Vertical Tube [4] and fasten tightly with a Long Bolt [17] and Large Washer [15] as indicated in Diagram 5. 5. Position a Roller Mounting Bracket [9] underneath one end of the Roller Support Bar and fasten using one of the Large Screw and Nut Sets [13], and two Small Washers as shown in Step 6. 6. Slide the Ball-Bearings [7] into the open ends of the Metal Roller [8], and slide a Small Washer over each of the exposed bolts at the ends of the Roller. Position the Roller above the Roller Support Bar so the exposed bolt fits inside the hole in the Mounting Bracket. Fasten with one of the Nuts [16] included. 7. Attach the remaining Mounting Bracket to the other end of the Support Bar so that the exposed bolt at this end of the Roller fits into the hole in this Mounting Bracket. Fasten with a Nut so that the Roller spins easily and evenly. 8. Fit the Plastic Cover [6] over the top of the Junction Bracket as shown in Diagram 8. Slide the Vertical Tube assembly into the opening in the Cover, through the Junction Bracket. Tighten the Plastic Screw. SKU 46086 Page 4
9. You can adjust the height of the Roller from 27-7/8 to 49. To do so, turn the Plastic Cuff at the Top of the Junction Bracket, slide the Vertical Tube up or down depending on the desired height, and turn the Cuff in the opposite direction. Be sure the Vertical Bar is securely locked into place before using the Roller to support your work pieces. Special Warnings for this Product 1. Do not use Roller Stand as a scaffold or ladder.
