If you are an out-of-town customer visiting the area, please feel free to stop in for project help any time, every day, sit and visit, attend any of our classes, or even our JBW Knit Nights! Knit Nights are normally on both the 2nd and 4th Thursdays of each month from 6 8pm! Because of the holidays, knit nights will only be held on the 2nd Thursday in November and December. A $5 optional cover charge will enter your name into a drawing for JBW gift certificates. Bring your knitting, crocheting, weaving, spinning, tatting or whatever - we would love to include you! NEW Caffeinate n' Create!!! We recognize that not everyone can join us for our Knit Night events so we've created a time just for you! Please join us at 9 am every Friday morning for Caffeinate n' Create!!! Bring your craft and enjoy a morning beverage in the company of others and, just like Knit Night, a $5 optional cover charge enters your name into a drawing for JBW gift certificates! General class information All classes are $25 per person for 2 hours unless otherwise indicated. Please register no later than the day before the class. You may register over the phone. Payment is due at registration. We can take credit cards over the phone. Classes without preregistered students are subject to cancellation. Please call if you have questions. Please be considerate of your classmates' time! Please purchase and prepare all materials before class so that you are fully prepared at the beginning of class. Classes will begin promptly. If you wish to learn something that it isn't offered as a scheduled class, we do have Personalized Class Time available by request. Please contact us to arrange a class time and teacher. Children's classes: Children require more one-on-one help to be successful in learning fiber arts. We love helping kids learn and have very good teachers who love working with kids. Please ask about classes for children. Free Drop-in Help Anytime Every Day, All Day! We will have someone available to help you with your questions and projects during our regular retail store hours! No RSVP needed, just show up! If your project requires a lengthy session or you want to work with a particular person, then give us a call and we can schedule time just for you! For more information please call 775-827-9276 or toll free 877-529-5648 or email askterry@jimmybeanswool.com 1

Class materials and prerequisites: Materials are not included in the price for the classes unless specifically stated otherwise. Please purchase ALL materials and have yarn wound into balls BEFORE class start time. Classes start promptly at the scheduled time. 101 Beginning Crochet Skills 1 st Saturday of each month - Learn all the basic skills of crochet from how to tension the yarn to the 6 basic stitches - while we work a sampler or samplers that can be used as coasters, your choice. If time allows, crocheting in the round can be addressed. Light colored worsted weight wool yarn, not superwash.** Crochet hook in size G, 7, or H. **Note: If you have a sensitivity to wool, then a synthetic or cotton will work, as long as it isn't splitty. Please ask the retail staff to help you select an appropriate yarn. Your yarn will need to be in a skein or ball before you can knit or crochet. The retail staff will be happy to wind a hank into a ball for you before the class. No prerequisites Sock Lab! 1 st Saturday of each month - This is an ongoing workshop/lab type class in which you are free to experiment and learn the sock knitting process step-by-step, at your own pace. You may join this class at anytime and at any stage of your sock(s). During this time you can learn the structure of a sock, how to read sock patterns, how to knit socks cuff down and/or toe up, using any or all of the different needle configurations used for knitting socks. You can also learn how to knit socks either one at a time or two at at time! If this is your very first sock, we recommend knitting a worsted weight sock on double points. On the other hand, if skinny yarn doesn't intimidate you, then you may choose fingering weight socks. 200-300 yds of worsted weight yarn OR 400-450 yds of fingering weight yarn US #5 or #6 needles for worsted weight OR US #1 or #2 for fingering weight A basic sock pattern for the yarn weight and style of sock knitting you've chosen (we sell several) Prerequisites: How to cast on, knit, purl, and bind off. You will learn joining in the round, increases and decreases, among other skills. 101 Beginning Knitting Skills - 2 nd Saturday of each month - Learn the basic skills of knitting casting on, making knit stitches, making purl stitches, alternating between knits & purls, stockinette stitch, garter stitch and binding off, while we begin a sampler or set of coasters if you're ambitious. Repeat this class until you feel ready to advance, then move on to Knitting 102 Beyond Knit & Purl to learn to knit in the round and other helpful skills. Light colored worsted weight wool yarn, not superwash.** Straight or 24 circular needles in size US 7 or 8. Bamboo or wood is recommended as metal & plastic needles are slippery and can cause frustrations for beginners. **Note: If you have a sensitivity to wool, then a synthetic or cotton will work as well as long as it isn't splitty. Please ask the retail staff to help you select an appropriate yarn. Your yarn will need to be in a skein or ball before you can knit or crochet. The retail staff will be happy to wind a hank into a ball for you before the class. No prerequisites 2

Walking Dead MKAL - Want to participate in our upcoming Walking Dead MKAL?!?! We will have FREE ongoing live MKAL sessions in the retail store with Kristen, the designer herself! Sessions started Saturday, Oct. 10 th and will run through Saturday, Nov. 14 th. This will be a great time to see some of the new techniques used, ask questions, and knit-a-long with other zombie-loving knitters! Plus, each session is planned for the day before each clue will be released on Ravelry, giving you access to the clues a whole day early! Sign up to reserve your space and be sure to purchase your class materials in advance so you are ready to go before the first class! 1 Walking Dead MKAL Kit or- 2 skeins of Lorna s Laces Shepherd Sock Yarn or- 870 yds of fingering weight yarn. US # 6 and #8 16 circular needles (if you knit very tightly or very loosely, adjust needle size accordingly.) US #8 double point needles Prerequisites: Must know how cast on, knit, purl, and alternate between knit & purl. Get Your Swirl On!!! Knit, Swirl Jacket Completion!- 4 th Saturday in November and the 3 rd Saturday in December Have you always wanted to knit a Swirl jacket from the Knit, Swirl book by Sandra McIver but, were too intimidated to start? Well now's your chance!!! We've created a class to help you successfully create your own Swirl beauty! Several of our students are well on their way and are even planning to make a second jacket in a different design! In this third class, we'll discuss technical aspects, discuss the bind off for the collar, how to begin the bodice and start the discussion about sleeve length and the instructions for shortening the sleeves. The goal from the last class was to try to reach welt 26 or the beginning of the bodice before this class. This is an ongoing 6 month learning & social Knit-A-Long event. You're welcome to attend any or all of the classes and you can start at anytime! We have lots of fun planned for you! Anyone who signs up for the remaining classes can get a 1 hr private consultation with Terry to choose design, yarn, and size. Six once-a-month classes to learn all about Swirls as we go! Each 2 hour class will cover a specific topic and allow Q&A as well as knitting time. A minimum of five social Swirl knit-together events that will be scheduled at varying times and locations to try to accommodate work & school schedules for as many participants as possible. All you can eat project help! Monthly goals to help you stay on track to complete your Swirl! Share your style & yarn selections, progress, helpful hints, and challenges with others to help inspire them to make a Swirl. For those who enjoy sharing on social media, this can be your moment of fame! When our Swirls are completed we'll throw a Swirl Soiree! Show off your finished Swirl at a fun fashion show party! For those who would like to participate but aren't local or will be traveling, we will have a Ravelry thread where you can knit-along in a social setting with mutual support from other Ravelers. We can even schedule chatroom time for real time help & chat. And of course, as always, we will do our best to help you with your yarn selection over the phone, on live chat, or via email. Knit, Swirl book by Sandra McIver Yarn & needles for your chosen Swirl to get gauge as specified in the book and on knitswirl.com Prerequisites: Knitting 102 or equivalent and knit a swatch! Swatching is absolutely crucial for a properly fitted Swirl. It's not like other knitted garments. Working a Swirl super swatch cowl from the Knit, Swirl website is highly recommended! Sandra came up with this cowl design because a number of people were not getting correct gauge and ended up with Swirls that were the wrong size & used too much yarn. Homework: Please read chapters one and two of Knit, Swirl! And check out the various Swirl technique tutorials on the Knit, Swirl! website (knitswirl.com), including: choosing a Swirl Silhouette and size, Swirl 'super swatch' Cowl, choosing a substitute yarn, casting on using two balls of yarn, and the no-twist join. 4
