Instructions to complete Poinsettia earrings: Tip These earrings are a unique design that do not follow any specific beadweaving stitch. They are recommended for intermediate to advanced beaders who have had some experience with beadweaving. Follow each step carefully and refer to the arrows on the diagrams as you work. Step 1 Thread a needle with approximately 4 feet of beading thread, and wax the thread. String one SuperDuo bead and seven size 11 seed beads. Leaving a 6-inch tail, tie a knot with the tail and working thread. Pass through the first bead. Step 2 String the following: 1 size 11 seed bead 9 SuperDuo beads 1 size 11 seed beads Pass through the SuperDuo bead exited at the end of Step 1. Turn and pass through the second hole of the same SuperDuo bead. Step 3 String one size 11 seed bead, and pass through the second hole of the next SuperDuo bead. Step 4 String one size 11 seed bead, and skip the next SuperDuo bead. (Flip it to the outside.) Pass through the second hole of the next SuperDuo bead. Step 5 String one size 11 seed bead. Skip the next two SuperDuo beads. (Flip them to the outside.) Pass through the second hole of the next SuperDuo bead. Step 6 String one size 11 seed bead. Skip the next two SuperDuo beads. (Flip them to the outside.) Pass through the second hole of the next SuperDuo bead. Step 7 String one size 11 seed bead. Skip one SuperDuo bead, and Pass through the second hole of the next SuperDuo bead. String one size 11 seed bead. Pass through the second hole of the first SuperDuo bead strung in Step 1. Turn and pass through the first hole of this SuperDuo bead. Your work should look like the diagram below.

Step 8 Exiting the top hole of the SuperDuo bead at the top of the earring, pass through the following beads (strung in Step 2): 1 size 11 seed bead 9 SuperDuo beads Turn and pass through the second hole of the SuperDuo bead exited. Step 9 Step 10 Step 11 String two SuperDuo beads. Pass through the second hole of the next SuperDuo bead. Step 12 Step 13 Turn and pass through the inside hole of this SuperDuo bead. Tie a half-hitch knot around the thread. Pass back through the hole passed through in the previous step. Pass through the outer hole of that SuperDuo bead. Your work should look like the diagram below. Step 14 Pass through the next SuperDuo bead. Tie a half-hitch knot around the thread. Pass back through the hole passed through at the beginning of this step. Step 15 Turn and pass through the second (outer) hole of this SuperDuo bead. Step 16 Repeat four times. (A total of five beads have been added.) Your work should look like the next diagram.

Step 17 Pass through the inside hole of the last bead passed through. Pass under the thread and tie a half-hitch knot. Pass back through the hole last passed through. Pass through the second hole. Pass through the next three SuperDuo beads. Step 18 Tie a half-hitch knot, and pass back through the same hole. Turn and pass through the second hole of this SuperDuo bead. Step 19 String one SuperDuo bead, and pass through the second hole of the next SuperDuo bead. Repeat this step once. Step 20 Repeat the same turning procedure done in Steps 17 18. Step 21 String one SuperDuo bead, and pass through the next SuperDuo bead. Turn and pass through the second hole of this SuperDuo bead. Step 22 Weave through several beads, tying a half-hitch knot to secure.

Step 23 Open the loop on one ear wire (see Attaching an Ear Wire Technique), and attach it to the loop of beads at the top of the leaf. Close the loop. Step 24 Repeat Steps 1 23 for the second earring.
