University POLITEHNICA of Bucharest - UPB UPB is the largest and most prestigious technical university from Romania, classified, in the top 12 universities, as University for advanced research and education by the Ministry of Education and Scientific Research. Its mission is to educate, research and innovate at the highest professional standards, oriented towards the knowledge society, for a sustainable development of the social and economic environment in which UPB is integrated. The scientific research is an essential component of the UPB activity, the value of the results obtained at national and international levels being unanimously recognized and strategically oriented towards high development areas: information and communication technology, energy, environment, transports and territorial planning, food safety, biotechnologies, innovative products and processes.

University POLITEHNICA of Bucharest - UPB UPB is member of several Competitiveness Poles and Innovative Clusters, in consortia with strong companies as: RENAULT, Renault Technologies Roumanie - RTR, Horia Hulubei National Institute of Physics and Nuclear Engineering, National Institute for Research in Agriculture Equipment and Food Industry and covering topics such as Automotive Industry, Electronic Innovation Industry or Nuclear, Life and Environmental Physics. In line with this approach, UPB has strongly cooperation with important international and Romanian companies, e.g. IBM, Google, ALSTOM, Thales, MICROCHIP, Dacia Groupe Renault, OMV-Petrom, SIVECO, VESTA, INCAS, COMOTI.

Also, UPB was the R&D services providers for 16 innovative SME s, benefiting of the Romanian innovation vouchers financing program: http://uefiscdi.gov.ro/articole/2859/cecuri-de-inovare.html.

The Center for Technological Transfer - CTT POLITECH The Center for Technological Transfer - CTT POLITECH, from UPB, acting as a Danube Transfer Center from 2013, is very active, acting like an interface between the scientific community of UPB and the economic environment. CTT POLITECH is also an Enterprise Europe Network partner, for storing the link between the academic and socio-economic environment, at international level, and has a representative delegate in the EU IPR Helpdesk Ambassadors Team. CTT POLITECH implemented the project Virtual inter-university community for science, technology, innovation and capitalization of intellectual property - http://www.cviu.ro/, whose general objective is professional education and training for the support of the economic growth and the society development based on knowledge. Consequently, UPB s IPR has been licensed to several private companies and was commercialized by five university spin-off companies, financed by the Competitiveness Romanian structural funds program. Also, UPB was the R&D services providers for 16 innovative SME s, benefiting of the Romanian innovation vouchers financing program.

The Center for Technological Transfer - CTT POLITECH In actual financial and economical global crisis, the objectives of CTT POLITECH are in line with the European Strategy for Economic Revival and Control of Unemployment, Romanian Development Plan 2014-2020 and revised Lisbon Strategy. CTT POLITECH follows the competitiveness growth of Romanian economy, on average and long term, the development and the efficient use of the human capital potential, especially oriented to a more efficient valorization of intellectual property assets, in the benefit of Romanian innovative SME s. Thus, the mission of CTT POLITECH is to develop cooperation capacities, through technological / knowledge transfer mechanisms, in the frame of an inter-universities network, destined to increase the valorization of intellectual property assets, in close collaboration with innovative SME s, helping them to internationalize their activities at European level and / or in a global market, in the frame of the new concept of open innovation.
