SPECIAL EVENTS Joan Ford s trunk show will be held Saturday night at 7 p.m. at no charge. The trunk show will not interfere with any participants sewing time or shopping with the vendors. Vendors: Please take time before or after the trunk show to shop with our vendors. It s so nice to have all of them in one place at one time. Show and Tell: Campers are invited to share their quilting projects during this popular activity which will take place after lunch on Saturday. You might bring a previous Quilt Camp class project or show your latest creation. Remember we want everyone to get a chance to show their projects so keep it down to one or two projects. Teacup Auction: Everyone enjoys this activity which is much like a silent auction. Campers bring item(s) to donate. These donations will be displayed with a cup beside it. Place your pre-printed ticket(s) into the cup(s) of your choice. Tickets will be available to purchase at 10 for $1.00 or 60 for $5.00. Names will be drawn Saturday after lunch and items will be brought to the winners in their classes. This event helps the guild with some of the overhead expenses that we have. So please clean your sewing room and share those 2 of a kind and over stock goodies with fellow quilters. Bring them in with you to camp or get them to Renee or Sandra before the camp starts. Just a Reminder Be sure your registration form is completed and checks are made payable to Borderline Quilters, Inc. Please enclose a self-addressed envelope with 2 stamps on it, so we may return your class information to you and save a little expense. 2 stamps will work better as we have a lot of information to send you. For your own comfort you may want to bring a fan, a pillow to sit on and/or a small lamp. Bring your chocolate and any of the necessities that will make life sweeter. Be sure your sewing machine is in good working condition. Don t forget the foot control, electrical cord and extra needles.

12 HOUR CLASSES Friday, Saturday and Sunday #1 - Sploosh - From lap to Queen 12 hour class Level: Intermediate Teacher: Donna Hastings Pattern will be provided. No special ruler needed. Optional: 12 square ruler If you are looking for an easy weekend quilt, you might try this pattern. The contrasting light and dark fabrics make a very attractive quilt. This is a disappearing hour glass pattern made with 10 light and dark squares. There is very little waste of fabric. This is not a scrap or fat quarter friendly pattern #2 - Perfect Log Cabins Every Time - 75 x 84 12 hour class Level: Intermediate Teacher: Debbie Baldwin Pattern provided by instructor for $9. No special ruler needed. This class is intended to be a technique class. You are encouraged to make this project completely your own. The size is totally dependent on you. Would you like table runners, a lap quilt, a big quilt, pillows, a table square, or wall hanging? Would you like borders or not? Would you like to quilt it in sections? You will learn that technique too. Or would you rather send it to the quilter. Would you like to add a couple touches of applique while you quilt? You ll learn that too. Just bring your favorite fabrics and your creativity. Special techniques include cutting to speed construction with better accuracy. Quilt as you go and assembly will also be taught.

9 HOUR CLASSES GUEST TEACHER #3 - Pomegranate Rose- 43 square table topper 12 hour class Level: Intermediate Teacher: Joan Ford Pattern will be provided. No special ruler needed. Purchase 3 panels of ScrapTherapy Little Scrap Grid interfacing (available to purchase during the workshop, $4 per panel.) Small portion of the quilt. Since this is not published, the complete quilt can not be shown. FRIDAY & SATURDAY SATURDAY & SUNDAY Pattern: A cutting and piecing chart will be handed out in class. This is a pre-publication quilt. You are among the first to see the complete pattern, even though it will be in a preliminary format. This quilted table centerpiece is chocked full of varied techniques featuring scraps and 9-patch block variations. The super-cool Little Scrap Grid interfacing is featured in the construction of the project. #4 - Radiant - Pattern provides several size options, ABC Piecing Demo 9 hour (Fri. & Sat.) Level: Advanced Beginner Purchase pattern. No special rulers. Teacher: Jill Josephs Radiant, a modern asymmetrical quilt designed by Daniela Stout, is easy enough for a beginner yet satisfying for the seasoned quilter. The 8.5 finished blocks are turned to create an offcentered barn raising style design. The pattern uses fat quarters as well as yardage and has directions for five sizes: baby, throw, twin, queen and king. The class sample is a twin size. Piecing ABCs This way of piecing all the letters of the alphabet is based on a technique for lettering on posters. I have often used these letters to personalize the back of a quilt. #5 - Improvisational Slice and Insert Table Topper- 24 x 42 9 hour (Sat. & Sun.) Level: All Levels Teacher: Jill Thomas No pattern needed. No special rulers. This three block table topper is the perfect project for anyone wishing to experiment with modern piecing and design. The improvisational slice and insert technique is a fun and easy way to produce strikingly complex, one of a kind blocks.

SATURDAY & SUNDAY 6 HOUR CLASSES Saturday 9 or 6 HOUR CLASSES 6 hours Saturday/3 hours Sunday #6 - Barn Dance Revival - 6.5 block 6-9 hour (Saturday and/or Sunday) Level: Beginner Teacher: Vicky Williams Pattern will be provided. 6 1/2 square ruler needed. This quilt is a strip quilt made of two similar blocks. The blocks are each made up of four smaller blocks. These are created by using the strip method and then four 6 ½ inch blocks are sewn together to make a 12 ½ inch block. In the sample project, the lighter of these larger blocks are used to create the center of the quilt and the darker of these larger blocks are used in making the outer border. The size of the sample quilt is 86 by 98. If you want to take this as a 6 hour class, you can make a 66 x 76 throw consisting of the center of the sample project. #7 - Canyon Dance - 23 x 23 table topper to Queen size quilt Saturday Level: Intermediate Teacher: Wendy Beavis Purchase pattern at http://thequiltgal.com/shop/patternsand-books/p/canyon-dance-by-tracy-trevethan-designssku-93-2461.htm. No special rulers needed. Purchase plastic template material 12 x 18 minimum size. This curved piece quilt is easier than you might think. Find fat quarters in a variety of colors that compliment each other and create a stunning piece. There are a variety of size options. Adding a border to the wall hanging to makes a great modern baby quilt. Using just 4 blocks makes a unique table topper and 8 blocks would make a nice table runner in holiday fabrics. 9.5-10.5 blocks 3 HOUR CLASSES #9 - Stitch and Flip Candle Mat - approx. 9 x 20 Friday Level: All Levels Teacher: Jill Thomas No pattern needed. No special ruler needed. Grab your scrap bin and spend a few relaxing hours making this charming candle mat. The simple, yet versatile, stitch and flip technique will be used to create improvisational diamonds. The top goes together pretty quickly, so bring along some batting and backing. Some may have time to layer and quilt!

3 HOUR CLASSES (CONTINUED) #8 - Mill House Inn Tote Bag Friday Level: Beginner Teacher: Carly Robinson FREE pattern at http://www.modabakeshop.com/2009/08/ mill-house-inn-tote-bag.html. It has an optional inside pocket and a button closure. It can be made using 1 ½ inch strips as shown on the pattern or using 4 inch squares, your choice. #10 - Twisted Heart Sunday Level: Confident Beginner Teacher: Jill Josephs Pattern will be provided. Purchase Itty Bitty Twister Tool ($10); optional - 18 mm rotary cutter ($14). I will have these two tools available to purchase for $20. Twisted Heart is the perfect project for leftovers from a quilt you plan to give away. This small wall hanging would be a reminder of the quilt and the person to whom you gave it. Experience Levels Beginner Little to no experience with quilting. Intermediate Comfortable with the sewing machine and has made other quilts. Advanced Lots of quilting/sewing experience. For example, has done triangles.
