Outlook A.Markets B.Technology and Features C. Application
A. Markets Which markets are served from Vreden? Schepers GmbH serve the following markets: - Packaging industry - Decorative industry - Technical rollers, such as embossing rollers, anilox rollers etc. - Electronic industry - Security industry - Textile industry As far as Digilas is concerned, Schepers has just one machine design for all applications. For different applications, simply the laser source has be changed or added!
A. Markets Packaging market: Installed maschines: Number of cylinder s: Sales price min: Sales price max: 100 pcs > 500 000 pcs/a 000 000 Euro 000 000 Euro Market potential: - Direct structuring of different metals. - With new screens and angels, Digilas is able to rotate screen and angel bei 360 even in rotogravure! - Plastic is an option for the future.
A. Markets Decorative industrie: Installed maschines: Number of cylinder s: Sales price min: Sales price max: 9 pcs 6 000 pcs/a 000 000 Euro 000 000 Euro Market potential: - New screen geometry for more sharpness and details. - Better ink transfer due to new screen geometry. - Higher ink volume due to cell geometry (Hexagonal). - New screens and angels, Digilas is able to rotate screen and angel by 360 even in rotogravure!
A. Markets Technical rollers: Installed maschines: Number of rollers: Sales price min: Sales price max: 25 pcs > 50 000 pcs/a 000 000 Euro 000 000 Euro Market potential: - Direct structuring of zinc, aluminium, nickel, steel and copper. At least where 3D application are required. At the moment 95% of all technical rollers for 3D application are produced with 3D chemical etching process in steel or copper. But the future is direct imaging of 3D cylinders!
A. Markets Electronic printing: Installed maschines: Number of cylinders: Sales price min: Sales price max: 4 pcs N.N 000 000 Euro 000 000 Euro Market potential: - RFID tags (Radio Frequency Identification) - Solar technics (Future market) - Printed Electronics
A. Markets Security printing: Installed maschines: Number of cylinders: Sales price min: Sales price max: 8 pcs N.N 000 000 Euro 000 000 Euro Market potential: - Transformation of Intaglio procedure, through steel/nickel engraving - Digilas, is in the position to transfer security characteristic elements. Security printing is part of the rotogravure industries. The approved method offers no further possibility of development in this field. Digilas is an accepted alternative solution for this application, due to high resolution and the opportunity to go direct into metal.
B. Technology and Features 1. Laser type used 2. Cell generation (Image setter principle or Single shot) 3. Screens, Contone, Images of cells 4. Performance (cyl/h) 5. Material(s) used to laser into 6. Automation: Loading/unloading, testcut, power measurement, beam calibration, auto balance 7. Multibeam ability 8. Next developments planned, time frame
B. Technology and Features 1. Laser type in use Our choice is diode pumped fibre laser. - Fibre laser has the highest beam grade (Goal of the quality). - Fibre laser can focus 10my beam. - Fibre laser in use 10W up to 600W. Fibre laser available up 3kW. - Fibre laser is maintenance free. - Different fibre lasers can be attached to the same machine bed
B. Technology and Features 2. Cell generation (Image setter principle or Single shot) Schepers has both principle, Image setter and Single shot - Image setter principle: All applications accepting anliox rollers are running with Image setter principle! - Single shot principle: Just in use for anilox rollers
B. Technology and Features 3. Screenes, Contone, Images of cells Screens: - Autotypical and conventional screens, all screens and angels available Examples of available screens: Reproduction of contone with direct engraving: - Autotypical (diameter variable) - Conventional cell type with 3D RIP.
B. Technology and Features 4. Performance (cyl/h) - Direkt into zinc: 30-40mm per min (we assume 30my detph) - Direkt into material like rubber or metal: 20mm per hour, by 500my deepness of an 3D image
B. Technology and Features 5. Material(s) used to laser into Direct structuring of zinc. Direct structuring of aluminium. Direct structuring of nickel and finally steel and copper Laser will be the future for direct structuring of metal and later on plastic.
B. Technology and Features 6. Automation: Loading/Unloading, Testcut, Power measurement, Beam calibration, Auto balance Loading/Unloading with manual chuck s. Test cut manual check by microscope. Power measurement available. Beam calibration, done once and than always highest beam quality with fibre laser. Auto balance, integrated in Digilas. Remark: The Laser-E is based under the design and construction of Schepers. If necessary Digilas as able to switch to full automatic mode.
B. Technology and Features 7. Multibeam ability Rotogravure, direct imaging in zinc: - 2 rather than 4 beam s Technical roller, direct imaging into metal - 2 rather than 4 beam s Rotogravure, chemical etching prozess - 4 rather than 8 beam s
B. Technology and Features 8. Next developments planned, time frame Further development in terms of direct structuring of metal for technical rollers, embossing rollers or security rollers. Further development in terms of direct structuring of metal and plastic. Remark: A time frame can not be given because those developments are linked to the manufacturers of the laser source. The key for such developments are: - A high precision and fundamental machine construction - A corresponding laser source with a stable front-end.
