DESPERATELY SEEKING SUSAN A Who What When Where How Why Story (6 th Grade Primary Education) By Ángel Gutiérrez Fernández 2016

-DESPERATELY SEEKING SUSAN- Characters: Narrator / Chelo Holmes (Detective) / detective helpers / kidnappers / singer Susan Parker / musicians: bass player, drummer /manager / rhythm guitar / lead guitar /dancers MUSIC ( "Eat the rich" by Aerosmith ) NARRATOR: On April 1 st, the singer Susan Parker, leader of the world famous rock band The 6 th Graders, was kidnapped during a concert the band was giving in Liverpool. The kidnapping took place during the break of the concert, when all the members were drinking some water and taking a breath When the second part of the concert was about to start, and everybody noticed that Susan vanished, all the members of the band, the manager, the producer of the tour and all the staff, started to panic! BASS PLAYER: Where is Susan? We re back to the stage in three minutes and she s not here yet! (Panicking) DRUMMER: I don t know, but I m on the verge of a nervous breakdown! (with a nervous breakdown actually) MANAGER: (Entering the backstage and shouting, very angry) What s wrong with you? The audience is waiting for you! They are very impatient! (Looking around) Where the hell is Susan? DRUMMER: We don t know where she is! (Surprised and very nervous)

BASS PLAYER: This is very weird! (Surprised and very nervous) RHYTHM GUITAR: She has never done something like this before! (Surprised and very nervous) NARRATOR: Suddenly, Johnny, the lead guitar, entered the backstage. His face was completely white, he seemed to be frightened, terrified by something His mouth was wide open He stayed at the door and didn t say a word RHYTHM GUITAR: What s the matter Johnny? Have you seen a ghost? (Very worried) LEAD GUITAR: It s much worse than that Susan has been kidnapped! NARRATOR: Everyone in the backstage got petrified. A deep feeling of sadness invaded the atmosphere. Nobody knew what to say or what to do MUSIC ( "Tears in heaven" by Eric Clapton ) NARRATOR: A few minutes later the feeling of sadness disappeared and, little by little, after listening to that song, it turned into a feeling of hope RHYTHM GUITAR: We have to do something! (self confident) Besides that Susan is our friend, we need her! She s the leader of "The 6th Graders". DRUMMER: You re right! I m going to call the police! (picking up his smart phone).

LEAD GUITAR: No way! I propose you a different thing Listen carefully. One of my friends is a detective. She s the best private eye in the city. I can call her. I m sure she will help us! BASS PLAYER: Sounds great! You re a very smart boy Johnny, because that way the reporters won t bother us with their questions. MANAGER: I think that s a good plan, Johnny. Go and tell her about our problem. Let s see if she can solve this mistery LEAD GUITAR: (Going out) I m on my way! See you later. MUSIC ( "The inspector by Henry Mancini) NARRATOR: One hour later, Johnny meets the detective in her office LEAD GUITAR: Good evening! May I come in? (with a smile on his face). CHELO HOLMES: Dear Johnny! (Surprised and very happy) I m very happy to see you! How are you, my old friend? LEAD GUITAR: My pleasure to see you again, Chelo! But, unfortunately, I m not as well as you are I m very worried, because the singer in our group has disappeared during our last performance. I think she has been kidnapped! (Very nervous and sad again).

CHELO HOLMES: Calm down, my friend. I m going to help you. Of course, I need to ask you and your friends a few questions Besides, I need to go to the place where she disappeared to see if I can find any evidence LEAD GUITAR: Sure! Come with me! I ll take you to the place. Moreover, you ll meet the other kids in the band and our manager too. You will like them! CHELO HOLMES: Fantastic! But before that, I d like to introduce you my two good helpers: What s on and What s up. DETECTIVE HELPERS: (Both at the same time) Nice to meet you! LEAD GUITAR: My pleasure, kids! Follow me! Chelo, to complete the perfect group you only need a third helper called Twitter (joking). NARRATOR: The three detectives follow Johnny. During their way to the theatre, the guitar player can t help hearing a song inside his head, just for him... MUSIC ( "The Pink Panther Theme by Henry Mancini) NARRATOR: Now they are at the theatre, where the group was giving the concert. When they arrived at the stage, there were some dancers doing a choreography. That was the B PLAN, because the audience needed something else after the problem during the concert...

CHOREOGRAPHY & MUSIC (? ) NARRATOR: Once the choreography was over, Johnny and the three detectives met the rest of the members of the band and their manager. LEAD GUITAR: Guys, this is Chelo Holmes, the detective I told you about, and these are her helpers, What s on and What s up. She s the best in her job and she came here to ask a few questions. CHELO HOLMES: Pleased to meet you, guys. Here we go with the interrogatory...! First question: When did the dissappearence take place? RHYTHM GUITAR: It was during the break of the concert. DETECTIVE HELPERS: (Both at the same time) What time are we talking about? DRUMMER: It was at about half past five in the afternoon. CHELO HOLMES: Who was the last person to see Susan? BASS PLAYER: We talked about that before. I think it was me... DETECTIVE HELPERS: (One question each) And where was she the last time you saw her? And what was she doing? BASS PLAYER: She was chewing gum under the stage.

CHELO HOLMES: Why was she doing that alone and hidden? BASS PLAYER: I don t know it for sure, perhaps because doing that was relaxing for her... DETECTIVE HELPERS: (Both at the same time) What clothes was she wearing while she was chewing gum? MANAGER: What a weird question! We re wasting time here! This doesn t make any sense! (Dissapointed and a little bit mad). CHELO HOLMES: Oh, sure it does! You can bet it makes sense! (Self confident and enjoying the situation). BASS PLAYER: (Thoughtful) I can t recall it very well It was very dark under the stage Let me think Yes She was wearing a white t-shirt and white shorts... DETECTIVE HELPERS: (Both at the same time) Were those the same clothes she was wearing during the performance? BASS PLAYER: No, at all! She was wearing a green t-shirt and a blue skirt. Why did she change her clothes during the break? For what? CHELO HOLMES: That is very weird! Isn t it? My dear helpers, what do you think about this strange behaviour? DETECTIVE HELPERS: (Both at the same time) This is a clear case of "I m doing this now and nothing else matters". Don t you think so, Ms Holmes? (With a big smile).

CHELO HOLMES: Elementary, my dear What s on and What s up! (Laughing noisily). LEAD GUITAR: I know that song! I really like it! DRUMMER: (Amazed) What are you talking about? LEAD GUITAR: I m talking about "Nothing else matters". Chelo knows that song, and I can play it... CHELO HOLMES: Please, play it again, Johnny! LEAD GUITAR: Here we go! MUSIC ( "Nothing else matters by Metallica) NARRATOR: After the song, the three detectives went under the stage to look for any evidence. They found a big clue to solve the mistery: a pair of earphones connected to a radio. CHELO HOLMES: (Snapping her fingers) Mistery solved! I know exactly what happened here! RHYTHM GUITAR: Excellent! Tell us, what happened to our friend? (Eager) DRUMMER: (Worried) Is she OK? CHELO HOLMES: Don t worry about her. She s all right. MANAGER: Can you please tell us where she is? (Nervous) CHELO HOLMES: Sure. She s at the football stadium. BASS PLAYER: (Thunderstruck) Are you talking seriously?

LEAD GUITAR: (Incredulous) You are kidding! CHELO HOLMES: No, I m not. And moreover I can predict that she will be back here in... about... (checking the time on her watch)... one minute. Then she will tell you she wasn t kidnapped. NARRATOR: Suddenly, the door opened and Susan entered the room accompanied by two friends. SUSAN: (Ashamed) Hi guys. I want to apologize for what I did... I m so sorry! I was hearing what the detective was saying before. She found out what really happened and called me once the football match was over. LEAD GUITAR: (Looking at the detectives) You re the smartest detectives in the world! How did you get to that conclusion? CHELO HOLMES: Elementary my dear Johnny! The last time one of you saw her, she was listening to the radio and she was wearing her favourite football team s t-shirt and shorts. It was clear that she was listening to a football match retransmision on the radio and then, as she couldn t resist the temptation, she went to the football stadium with her two best friends, her fake kidnappers (She pointed to Susan s friends) DRUMMER: (Disappointed) But, Susan, why did you do that?

SUSAN: I know I let you down, kids, but I couldn t resist going to watch my favourite team s last football match of the season... Will you forgive me? RHYTHM GUITAR: You are impossible Susan! But we forgive you anyway. BASS PLAYER: Yes, and I think we ve just won the heaven with you today! LEAD GUITAR: Sure! You are our stairway to heaven, Susan That reminds me of a great song we play NARRATOR: And then they started to play a very famous song Stairway to heaven MUSIC ( "Stairway to heaven by Led Zeppelin) LEAD GUITAR: (Interrupting the song) Yeah! Great song, but, by the way, we are already on a highway to hell, don t you think so? Here we go again! MUSIC ( "Highway to Hell by ACDC) THE END
