Descriptin 2 Descriptin This functin mnitrs the transmissin f frce between a mtr and driven lad within a defined frequency range. Typical applicatins include, fr example, detecting when a transmissin belt breaks r detecting when a cnveyr belt is in an verlad cnditin. Fr the lad trque mnitring, the actual frequency/trque actual value is cmpared t a prgrammed frequency/trque characteristic (refer t P2182 P2190). Depending n P2181, the system mnitrs whether the permissible trque curve is either exceeded r fallen belw. If the actual value lies utside the tlerance bandwidth, then after the delay time P2192 has expired, either alarm A0952 is utput r fault F0452. Nte 3 Nte The "lad trque mnitring" functin is nly active within the frequencies defined in parameters P2182 and P2184. Independent f the "lad trque mnitring" functin, all f the limits and prtective functins f the MICROMASTER 4 drive inverter remain active. These include, fr example, thermal mtr prtectin, min./max. utput frequency, max. utput current etc. A&D SD Seite 4/10

Cmmissining steps 5 Cmmissining steps 1. In rder t define the psitin f the tlerance bandwidth, different characteristics must be determined as a functin f the required lad trque mnitring (P2181). A differentiatin can be made between the fllwing cases: a) P2181=1/4: t detect a brken belt, i.e. under fault cnditins, the actual lad trque is belw the permissible tlerance bandwidth. In this case, the lad trque characteristic with minimum permissible lad shuld be determined. Trque [Nm] P2185+P2187+P2189 Rated lad characteristic P2190 P2188 P2186 P2182 P2183 P2184 min. permissible lad characteristic Frequency [Hz] Fig. 5-1 with min. permissible lad characteristic b) P2181= 2/5: as anti-stall prtectin. This means that when a fault ccurs, the actual lad trque is abve the permissible tlerance bandwidth. In this case, the lad trque characteristic with maximum permissible lad shuld be determined. A&D SD Seite 6/10

Imprtant parameter settings Trque [Nm] P2185 P2187 max. permissible lad characteristic P2189 P2186+P2188+P2190 P2182 P2183 Rated lad characteristic Frequency P2184 [Hz] Fig. 5-2 with max. permissible lad characteristic c) P2181= 3/6: t detect whether the drive is blcked (stalled) r a transmissin belt has brken. This means that when a fault ccurs, the lad trque is either abve r belw the permissible tlerance bandwidth. In this case, the lad trque characteristic with the minimum and maximum permissible lad shuld be determined. P2185+P2187+P2189 P2186+P2188+P2190 Trque [Nm] max. permissible lad characteristic Rated lad characteristic min. permissible lad characteristic P2182 P2183 Frequency P2184 [Hz] Fig. 5-3 with min. and max. permissible lad characteristic A&D SD Seite 7/10

Imprtant parameter settings 2. The permissible lad trque characteristic must be determined in the perating range f the plant r system. This characteristic can be determined as fllws: a) Theretical determinatin In this case, the prerequisite is that the lad trque characteristic in the perating range must first be knwn. Frequently, this is nt the case in practice. Especially changing mechanical effects invlve investigatins that require cnsiderable time and csts if they are t be frecast in advance. b) Practical determinatin The lad trque characteristic is directly determined at the plant/system using a "teach-in technique". In this case, the perating range is passed-thrugh step-by-step and the value pair cmprising the actual utput frequency r0021 and actual trque r0031 are read-ut in the steady-state cnditin. If necessary, this shuld be carried-ut fr bth directins f rtatin. 3. The psitin f the tlerance bandwidth (P2182-P2190) is determined by defining the 3 pints alng the characteristic. 4. In rder t prevent the trque mnitring respnding unnecessarily, dynamic states shuld be suppressed using delay time P2192. As a rule f thumb, P2192 shuld be > P1120. A&D SD Seite 8/10

Imprtant parameter settings Nte: The lad trque mnitring is active in all 4 quadrants! If it is nt pssible t determine the min. r max. lad trque characteristic at the drive in peratin, then the lad trque characteristic shuld be determined fr peratin at rated lad. By taking int accunt the tlerances, the max. r min. permissible lad characteristic can be calculated (e.g. the max. lad characteristic is btained frm the 120% rated lad characteristic). Independent f the setting f P2181 the tw valves fr the upper and lwer trque threshld value fr the frequency threshld must be parameterized. It is imprtant t ensure that the upper trque threshld value is greater than the lwer trque threshld value. If nly a specific frequency range is t be mnitred, then it is sufficient t plt the lad characteristic between the frequency threshlds f the envelpe curve (P2182, P2184). If the drive is nly permitted t have ne directin f rtatin, then the lad characteristic shuld nly be determined fr the permissible directin f rtatin. The lad characteristic and/r envelpe curve determined shuld be represented in a frequency-trque diagram, e.g. using Micrsft Excel A&D SD Seite 9/10

Excel wrking flder 6 Excel wrking flder The Excel wrking flder prvided in the zip file "Lad trque mnitring.zip" is used t supprt cmmissining the "lad trque mnitring" functin. In the sheets, the permissible trque characteristic is determined either by making measurements r by calculating it. The ptimum pints alng the characteristic (P2182-P2190) can then be determined. The permissible trque characteristic and the prgrammed tlerance bandwidth are shwn in cmmn diagrams fr cmparisn purpses. The ptimum parameter values can be fund by repeatedly entering the 3 pints alng the characteristic (interplatin pints). A&D SD Seite 10/10
