Sewing Supplies Continued: INSPIRA No-Show Fusible Mesh Yarn Couching Feet Set B Foot Zipper Foot Sensor One-Step Buttonhole Foot Rayon Embroidery Thread to Match the Car Rayon Embroidery Thread to Match the Tires Rayon Embroidery Thread to Match the Tree All-Purpose Thread to Match the Main Fabric Metallic Silver Thread to Match Heavy Bobbin Thread Bobbin Fill Thread Fabric Marking Pen Pen Ruler Straight Sewing Pins Multipurpose Tool/Button Reed Cutting Instructions: Cut the green glitter mesh and dark green tulle into 2 (5cm) squares. From the main pillow fabric cut: o One 20 (50.8cm) x 15 (31cm) piece o One 10 (25.4cm) x 15 (31cm) piece o One 15 (31cm) x 15 (31cm) piece Cut out the templates from the back page. Fuse the paperbacked fusible webbing to the wrong side of the following fabrics: o Car Template on ⅛ (11.4cm) yard or 1 fat quarter for car appliqué. o Front Window Template and Rear Window Template on shiny tulle. o Tire Template on pleather. Trace the templates on the paper, then cut out the traced shapes (the text side of the template should be facing the paper as you trace) HUSQVARNA and the "H" Crown Device are trademarks of Husqvarna AB 2018 Singer Sourcing Limited LLC. Appliqué: 1. Fuse the INSPIRA No-Show Fusible Mesh to the wrong side of all main fabric pieces. 2. Peel the paper back from the cut appliqué pieces. Tip: Using medium pressure, score the paper by running a sewing pin down the center; create a tear in the center and peel away the paper from the center with ease. 3. Using your ruler, find the center of the 20 (50.8cm) x 15 (31cm) piece and mark it with your fabric marking pen. 4. Center the Car Template on this mark, text side up. Use the marking pen to mark the corners of the windows and the wheel cut outs. HUSQVARNA and the "H" Crown Device are trademarks of Husqvarna AB 2018 Singer Sourcing Limited LLC. 5. Center the shiny tulle pieces on the window marks, and the pleather to the wheel cut out trace. Note: The shiny tulle pieces will be larger than the size of the windows. 6. Fuse the shiny tulle and pleather in place. Note: You may want to use a pressing cloth to cover these pieces to make sure they don t stick to the iron. 7. Place the car appliqué fabric in the center, lining up the windows to the marks and the tire cutouts to the tires. Fuse in place. 8. With the thread that matches the tires, use a 4.0 width satin stitch and stitch along the bottom half of the tire. 9. Center the buttons in the tires and sew on. Increase the amount of stitching to 12 times for a fuller thread effect. Note: You do not need the Multipurpose Tool/Button Reed under the button because these are purely for decoration. 10. Using the Tapering Program select the satin stitch and adjust the width to 4.0. 11. Use a 45 angle at the beginning and end of all appliqué lines of the car. Stitch around the car and in the car windows. Tip: The long edge of the taper will be going against the outside edge for the body of the car, and along the inside edge for the car windows. Creating the Tree: 1. Select the plain horizontal pop-up dimensional stitch. 2. Trace the Tree Template (text side up) onto the green fabric using your fabric marking pen. 3. Starting at the larger end of the tree, sew straight lines of the popup stitch. Line up the edge of your B foot with the previous line of stitching when starting a new line. Tip: Stagger the stitches for a fuller more natural looking tree. Note: Be sure to start some of the lines outside of the traced outline so you have some pop-up stitches on the edge of the tree. 4. When you get approximately 2/3 3/4 of the way through the tree, you may only have enough room for 1 stitch. Use these to fill in empty spaces, though the majority of these should be along the edge of the outline. 5. Center the last stitch on the tip of the tree. 6. Trim the piece down to about a ½ (1.3cm) away from the edge of the outline. HUSQVARNA and the "H" Crown Device are trademarks of Husqvarna AB 2018 Singer Sourcing Limited LLC. All rights reserved. 5

7. Fold over the edges and pin in place. Note: Be sure to line up the curve in the tree to the top of the car. 8. Attach your zipper foot and sew along the edge with a straight stitch. Note: You will have to lift up the pop-up stitches to sew underneath them. 9. Once the tree is attached, pin a piece of INSPIRA Dissolve-A-Way over the tree. Note: You will want to push all the tulle and mesh towards the center so the tree looks contained by the decorative bobbin thread. HUSQVARNA and the "H" Crown Device are trademarks of Husqvarna AB 2018 Singer Sourcing Limited LLC. All rights reserved. 6

10. Attach your Yarn Couching Foot 2 and feed two decorative bobbin threads through the foot. 11. Starting at one end at the top of the car, sew the bobbin thread down with a 1.5 width zigzag stitch. Tip: Engage Needle Up/Down to easily change directions. 12. Remove the stabilizer on top. 13. To make the tree look fuller again, cut the top layer of tulle. Be sure to only cut the tulle on the left side of the thread (towards the top of the tree). Constructing the Pillow: 1. Line up the edge of your pom-pom trim to the edge of the large main fabric piece. Note: Make sure the pom-poms are facing in towards the car appliqué. HUSQVARNA and the "H" Crown Device are trademarks of Husqvarna AB 2018 Singer Sourcing Limited LLC. All rights reserved. 7

2. Attach the Zipper foot and sew on the trim using a basting stitch. 3. Fold over one 15 (38cm) side of the 10 x 15 (25.4cm x 38.1cm) piece 3 (7.6cm) and press. 4. Mark the folded edge ½ from the fold at 3 (7.6cm), 6 (15.2cm), 9 (22.9cm), and 12 (30.5cm). 5. Attach your Sensor One-Step Buttonhole Foot. 6. Input the size of your button, 25. 7. Line up the center of the foot with each mark you just made leaving the larger portion of the fabric towards the back of the machine. Note: The buttonholes start by sewing backwards. 8. When you have sewn all four buttonholes, open the buttonholes using your seam ripper. Tip: Start by inserting your seam ripper at one end and stop once you get half way through. Then start from the other side to finish opening the hole. This will help keep you from ripping through one side of your buttonhole. 9. Fold over one side of the 15 x 15 (38.1cm x 38.1cm) piece ½ (1.3cm) and topstitch the fold down. 10. Line up the buttonhole piece with your 15 x 14 ½ (38.1cm x 36.8cm) piece. HUSQVARNA and the "H" Crown Device are trademarks of Husqvarna AB 2018 Singer Sourcing Limited LLC. All rights reserved. 8

11. Overlap the 2 pieces with the buttonholes over the topstitched edge until the 2 pieces are 20 (50.8cm) wide. 12. Mark the top stitch fabric by putting your marking pen on the inside of each buttonhole, drawing a small line starting at the end of the buttonhole facing the folded edge. 13. Sew a button onto each mark. You will need to measure the distance between the holes in millimeters and use that as your stitch width. Note: Be sure to put the Multipurpose Tool/Button Reed under these buttons while sewing. 14. When all the buttons are sewn on, button the two pieces together and pull taught so the width is 20 (50.8cm) total again. Tip: You may want to unbutton 1-2 middle buttons after this so you have easier access to the rest in step 17. 15. With right sides together, line up and pin the front appliqué piece to the back buttoned piece. 16. Sew all sides together using a ½ seam allowance. Note: You may need to increase or decrease the seam allowance slightly to cover the bottom of your pom pom trim and not over the pom poms. 17. Unbutton the buttons and flip your pillow cover inside out. 18. Insert the pillow form and button the back buttons. Enjoy the holidays with your new stylish décor!
