It does not provide instructions for diagnostics, maintenance, service, or troubleshooting. This document is also available electronically on www.rosemount.com. Removal or attempted removal of the antenna will void the device warranty. WARNING Explosions could result in death or serious injury: Installation of this transmitter in an explosive environment must be in accordance with the appropriate local, national, and international standards, codes, and practices. Please review the approvals section of the 753R reference manual for any restrictions associated with a safe installation. Do not remove the transmitter cover in explosive environments when the circuit is live. Check that the instrument is installed in accordance with non-incendive field wiring practices. Process leaks may cause harm or result in death. Install and tighten process connectors before applying pressure. Electrical shock can result in death or serious injury. Avoid contact with the leads and terminals. High voltage that may be present on leads can cause electrical shock. WARNING The 753R is designed for monitoring purposes only. Do not use for control or feedback applications. The 753R relies on 3rd party cellular networks for communications. The 753R may not function properly due to cellular network failures. 2

Overview The Rosemount 753R is available in three primary configurations: 1. Rosemount 753R with Integral 3051S Pressure Transmitter. Instructions begin on page 4. RPS Line Power 2. Rosemount 753R with Remote Mounted HART Transmitter. Instructions begin on page 6. RPS Line Power 3. Rosemount 753R with Integral 3051S Pressure Transmitter and Remote Mounted HART Transmitter (also known as Dual Drop). Instructions begin on page 9. RPS Line Power 3

Quick Installation Guide Rosemount 753R with Integral 3051S Pressure Transmitter RPS Line Power Measurement Transmitter Installation. 1. Install the 3051S according to the 3051S Quick Installation Guide included in the 753R packaging. 2. To achieve best signal strength, the 753R should be installed so the antenna is approximately 18 in. (457 mm) from the side of the tank or other obstructions. Mounting and Positioning of the 753R. 1. Housing Rotation Consideration: To improve field access to wiring, or to obtain a better view of the LCD display: a. Use the 3/32 in. hex wrench to loosen the housing rotation set screw (See Figure 6 on page 13). b. Rotate the housing clockwise to the desired location. If the desired location cannot be reached because of thread limits, rotate the housing counter clockwise to the desired location (up to 360 from the thread limit). c. Tighten the housing rotation set screw to 20 in.-lb. 2. Remote Power Supply (RPS) Positioning consideration: For devices powered by an RPS, the RPS should be positioned for maximum sun exposure. It is important to tighten the set screws after positioning the solar panel. (See Figure 7 on page 13). 3. It is recommended that the device be installed in a vertical and upright position. For best signal reception, the antenna should be positioned vertically. Power Application 1. Remove the housing cover labeled FIELD TERMINALS. 2. Ground the 753R housing according to local electrical codes. 3. For units with an RPS see Figure 9 on page 14: a. The + lead should have been factory connected b. Connect the - lead (black wire) to the terminal marked 6 24 VDC by sliding the female quick connect fitting onto the male quick connect fitting. 4. For user-supplied 6 24 VDC line power see Figure 10 on page 14: a. Route the power supply leads through the 753R housing conduit entry using the appropriate strain relief and cable glands. b. Attach the + lead to the terminal marked 6 24 VDC (+). c. Connect the - lead to the terminal marked 6 24 VDC (-). d. The RPS should never be connected for this option. 4

WARNING To avoid a potential explosion that could result in death or serious injury, do not connect both the 6 24 VDC power supply and the RPS at the same time. Verify Operation of the 753R 1. When the power is applied, the LCD will light and display measurement and status messages. 2. After the 753R has powered and cycled through the startup sequence, press and hold the event button for 6-8 seconds, then release. The display will indicate Event Entry, and measurement and status messages will be shown. Seal the Unit 1. Replace the FIELD TERMINALS housing cover and tighten so metal touches metal. 2. The temporary orange plugs should be replaced with the included conduit plugs using approved thread sealant. See Conduit Plug Illustration on page 13. Verify that the 753R has successfully transmitted to itrax 1. Log into itrax (Figure 3 on page 11) a. https://itrax.datacom.com. b. Enter your username. c. Enter your password. 2. Locate the tag on the Summary page as shown in Figure 4 on page 12, and verify successful transmission at the time of installation. (See Received Time Column). Configure the 753R 1. Log into itrax (Figure 3 on page 11 a. https://itrax.datacom.com. b. Enter your username. c. Enter your password. 2. Locate and select the 753R tag on the Summary page. 3. Select Device from the menu on the left frame. (See Figure 5 on page 12.) 4. Navigate through the configuration options for any desired changes to the 753R configuration. 5. Click Submit prior to leaving any page where the configuration has been updated to save these changes. 5

Rosemount 753R with Remote Mounted HART Transmitter RPS Line Power Measurement Transmitter Installation. 1. Install the remote measurement transmitter according to the Quick Installation Guide included in the measurement transmitter s packaging. Mounting and Positioning of the 753R. 1. Mount the 753R securely using the included brackets and bolts. 2. To achieve best signal strength, the 753R should be installed so the antenna is approximately 18 in. (457 mm) from the side of the tank or other obstruction. 3. If the desired location cannot be reached because of thread limits, rotate the housing counter clockwise to the desired location (up to 360 from the thread limit). c.
