READ THIS DOCUMENT BEFORE YOU BEGIN! Thank you for purchasing the ClearSpan front roll-up kit. This guide includes helpful hints and important information needed to safely attach and properly maintain the kit components. Please read these instructions before you begin. If you have any questions during the assembly, contact customer service for assistance. SAFETY PRECAUTIONS Wear eye protection. Wear head protection. Wear gloves when handling metal tubes (if equipped). Use a portable GFCI (Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter) when working with power tools and cords. Do not climb on the shelter frame during or after assembly. Do not occupy the shelter or attempt to install the panel during high winds, tornadoes, or hurricanes. Never attempt to install the panel during windy or stormy conditions. Assemble and anchor the main shelter frame before installing the front roll-up kit. Do not store hazardous materials in the shelter after installing end panels, covers, or curtains. Provide proper ingress and egress to prevent entrapment. WARNING: The individuals installing the panel are responsible for designing and furnishing all temporary bracing, shoring and support needed during the assembly process. For safety reasons, those who are not familiar with recognized construction methods and techniques must seek the help of a qualified contractor. ASSEMBLY PROCEDURE The steps below describe attaching the roll-up panel to a typical frame of a ClearSpan Storage Master Curved Wall building. Verify that all parts are included in the shipment. Notify customer service for questions or concerns. ATTENTION: The building frame and other components shown throughout this guide may differ from your frame. It is the responsibility of the owner/installer to adapt these steps as needed to attach the panel to the actual frame. Depending on the actual building frame, some components contained in the installation kit may not be needed. Also, purchase additional parts and fasteners locally if needed. Or, contact your sales representative to purchase additional parts and for more information. Read these instructions and additional documentation (if any) included with the shipment before you begin. Gather the tools, bracing, ladders (and lifts), and assistance needed to reach the top of the panel. Check the weather before you install the panel. Do not install the panel on a windy or stormy day, or when such conditions are expected. Attach the panel components to the main frame, install the panel, and attach the anti-billow straps. Read the care and maintenance information at the end of these instructions. Complete and return all warranty information as instructed. REQUIRED TOOLS The following list identifies the main tools needed to attach the panel. Additional tools and supports may be needed depending on the structure, location, and panel size and design. Tape measure or measuring device Variable speed drill and impact driver (cordless with extra batteries works best) Metal file and metal-cutting saw Scissors or utility knife to cut panel and cords Hammers, gloves and eye protection Ladders or work platforms designed to work safely at the height of the panel. ATTENTION: Consult the services of a qualified, professional contractor if you are not familiar with the installation of similar components. 2 Revision date: 10.208

UNPACK AND IDENTIFY PARTS The following steps help to ensure that you have all the necessary parts before you begin. Unpack the contents of the shipment and place where you can easily inventory the parts. Refer to the Bill of Materials/Spec Sheets. Verify that all parts listed on the Bill of Materials/Spec Sheets are present. If anything is missing or you have questions, consult diagrams for clarification or contact customer service. CLEARSPAN FRONT ROLL-UP KIT INSTALLATION The parts shown below are specific to the installation of the front roll-up kit. Consult the bill of materials to identify which components are included with your roll-up kit. Diagrams are not to scale. NOTE: At this time, you do not need to open the plastic bags containing smaller parts such as fasteners and clamps (if present). Custom Roll-up Panels The procedures presented in this guide describe attaching a typical front roll-up kit to a typical frame of a ClearSpan Storage Master Curved Wall building. If you are attaching a custom curtain or panel to a frame that differs from what is shown, some steps may not apply. FA4482B Tek Screws 100441 Driver CC6212 & CC6214 Fabric Clips It is the responsibility of the owner/contractor to review the steps in this guide and to adapt the procedures as needed to account for differences. If you have questions, consult the services of a qualified, professional contractor familiar with the installation of similar covers and panels. FRAME: Final Check Before you attach the panel, inspect the frame for sharp edges or fasteners that could damage the panel or kit components. Verify that all frame members are properly secured. Verify that all bolts and clamps are tight. Recheck the frame assembly for sharp edges or clamps and bolts that may interfere with the installation of the panel. File or tape sharp edges as needed. Reposition clamps and bolts as needed and tape all rafter pipe joints with duct tape to protect the panel. Verify that the main building frame is properly and adequately anchored. Do not attach the roll-up panel to an unanchored frame. Continue by attaching the roll-up panel. 103395 Spin Handle Plain Swaged Swaged and Plain Rafter Sections 103396 Universal Joint Revision date: 10.208 3

ROLL-UP PANEL INSTALLATION The roll-up panel is secured to the frame using fabric clips and Tek screws. ATTENTION: If the main cover of the frame has already been installed, remove the cover and the ratchets from the Flat Wall side of the shelter. These will be replaced after the front roll-up kit has been installed. WARNING: To prevent damage to the panel and to prevent serious personal injury, DO NOT attempt to install the roll-up panel on windy days. The following steps describe one way to assemble the rollup conduit and to install the roll-up panel. Insert the roll-up conduit into the pocket along the bottom of the roll-up panel. With assistance, lift the panel and evenly wrap the edge over the top of the door header pipe. Locate the round 315" pipes for the roll-up conduit and assemble. Each conduit assembly consist of the following swaged and plain pipes: Kit # Swaged Pipe Plain Pipe #104497 #131S075 (3) #131P0255 (1) #104498 #131S075 (4) #131P072 (1) #104499 #131S075 (6) #131P0495 (1) #104500 #131S075 (8) #131P0255 (1) 7. Frame length shown may differ from actual frame. Center the cover end-to-end and verify that the roll-up conduit is level across the ground. Temporarily secure panel in place with 90" fabric clips if needed. Move to the inside of the frame. Using scissors or a utility knife, notch the roll-up panel so that the panel can wrap past the rafters and around the door header as shown below. After assembling the roll-up conduit, secure the pipe joints with a Tek screw and tape over the screw head with duct tape. Dashed lines show where the cuts should be made. Inside View Locate the roll-up panel and spread it out on the ground (with its underside facing up) along the Flat Wall side of the assembled and anchored frame. See diagram below. 8. Wrap the notched flaps around the door header and secure to the pipe using 90" fabric clips and Tek screws. See diagram below. Evenly space the clips as needed. IMPORTANT: Position the clips on the underside or backside of the door header pipe so that the head of the Tek screw does not touch the main cover. INSTALL ROLL-UP ASSEMBLY Gather the parts: Pipe 315'' x 75'' (#131S075) Pipe 315'' x 49.5'' (#131P0495) Spin handle (#103395) Universal joint (#103396) Fabric clips (#CC6212) CLEARSPAN FRONT ROLL-UP KIT INSTALLATION Secure the assembled extension pipe to the remaining end of the universal joint using a Tek screw. Move to a roll-up conduit, which was inserted into the pocket of the roll-up panel and position the conduit in the pocket so that a few inches extends beyond the pocket at the end where the crank will be attached. NOTE: This extension pipe can be trimmed to the desired length. Add the spin handle to the extension pole and secure the connection with a Tek screw. Space evenly Fabric Clip Extension Pipe ATTENTION: A few inches of the conduit should extend beyond the edge of the cover. See diagram above. Evenly space the fabric clips to secure the panel to the conduit. Attach the universal joint to the conduit in the pocket using a Tek screw to secure the connection. 7. 8. With the crank assembly properly attached, test the operation of the crank assembly. Roll the assembly to the down position. 9. Reattach the previously removed side ratchets over the roll-up panel. 10. Continue by installing the anti-billow straps. Locate one (1) 315" x 75" swaged pipe (#131S075) and one (1) 315" x 49.5" plain pipe (#131P045) for the extension handle and assemble. After assembling the extension pipe, secure the pipe joints with a Tek screw. Revision date: 10.208 5

INSTALL ANTI BILLOW STRAP Gather the parts: Anti-billow strap (#103620E) Anti-billow straps secure the roll-up panel when it is in the down position. Complete the following steps to install the straps. Verify that the roll-up assembly is lowered in the down position and side ratchets have been attached to the rafter legs through the roll-up panel. Insert one end of bulk strap through a side ratchet handle and tie off tightly. Using the distance to the ground as a guide, cut a section of the strap. Strap must reach from the ratchet to the ground post of the same rafter and must be long enough to allow room for the roll-up panel to increase in size as it is rolled up. Allow extra to tie the other end of the strap in place. Secure loose end of strap to the front of the ground post. Anti-Billow Straps NOTE: Circles indicate where to secure straps. Repeat steps for each rafter leg. Continue by reading the Shelter Care and Maintenance section that follows. SHELTER CARE AND MAINTENANCE Proper care and maintenance is important. Check the following items periodically to properly and adequately maintain your building and panel assembly: Regularly check the main cover and panels (if equipped) to see that these remain tight and in proper repair. Frequently check the anchoring system and all components. Replace worn or damaged parts immediately. Check all fasteners frequently to verify that these remain tight and in good repair. Do not climb or stand on the building or frame at anytime. Verify that the roll-up kit components are in good working condition. Do not allow roll-up panel to remain in the raised position for extended periods. Lower the panel to allow it to dry and for cleaning. Replace anti-billow strap immediately if worn or broken. Remove debris and objects that may accumulate on the shelter. Use tools that will not damage the cover when removing debris. Remove snow to prevent excess accumulation. Use tools that will not damage the cover when removing snow. Never allow snow to accumulate on the main cover or to remain against the sides or end panels after it is removed from the main cover. Check the contents of the shelter to verify that nothing is touching the cover or panels (if equipped) that could cause damage. Replace all worn or damaged parts immediately. For replacement or missing parts, call 1-800-245-9881 for assistance. NOTE: With the exception of Truss Arch buildings, ClearSpan shelters and greenhouses do not have any tested loading criteria. 6 Revision date: 10.208
