Business Cards are a quick and easy way to pass along personal information to your friends, family or new acquaintances You can carry a few in your wallet or purse so they are available when necessary Local Office Supply stores like Staples or Office Depot will print 1,000 cards for you for about $20
But, what happens when something changes, like your e-mail address or your phone number Now you have 973 business cards with the wrong information A better choice might be to invest that $20 in blank card stock and ink for your printer, and make your own Business Cards
That s what we are going to show you how to do today With a minimal investment of your time and money, you can come up with an end product that will rival anything that Staples or Office Depot can do for you First, you need the software - it s free Go to www.avery.com
Click on Software/ Template tab
Then click Avery Software
Click Design Pro
Click Download Design Pro 5
You will have to give them a little personal information If you don t want to be bothered with e-mails, click No, not at this time Click Continue
Internet Explorer may give you a security warning Click, Click here for options
Click Download File
Click Save to begin the Download process
Pay attention to the Download location and the File name
The Download begins
When the Download is complete, click Open to install the software on your computer
Now you have a new entry in your Programs list called DesignPro 5 Limited Edition
Design Pro gives you 4 ways to work on a project
Step-by-Step Wizard Pre-Designed Template Design from Scratch Open Existing Project If you re not feeling very creative, you can use the Step-by-Step Wizard or the Pre- Designed Template to modify a design to suit your needs
This is the Step-by-Step Wizard Click Next
Find the Product Number of your card stock Click Next
Choose one of the predesigned formats Click Next
Modify the fields with your own information Click Finish to Save and Print your Business Card
Design from Scratch gives you complete control of your Business Card Here is what I did to create my own card First, choose Design from Scratch on the opening menu
Then I choose the card stock number and clicked OK
That gave me a blank card to work with
First, insert an image on the card
Resize and position as needed
Insert a text box for Name and e- mail info
Insert a text box for address info
Insert a text box for phone info
There you have it
Finished product
You have complete control over the items on your Business Card You can choose font type, font color, font size just like you can in any word processor You can resize and position graphics anywhere you want on your card You can let your creative juices flow and make a truly individual project
Now I can save my project and print Business Cards whenever I need them If something changes, I ll change the card and print new ones I don t have to throw away tons of cards with old information DesignPro 5 works with all Avery products You are not limited to Business Cards
