If the values read less than 3 for "Number of Satellites" or " GPS Fix" for "Fix Mode," drive the vehicle to an outdoor location that is free from obstacles such as tall buildings or large trees until at least 3 satellites are listed for "Number of Satellites" and "3D" is listed for "Fix Mode." Can 3 or more satellites and a 3D fix be obtained? GO to AB2 GO to AB5 AB2 CHECK NAVIGATION FOR CORRECT OPERATION Operate various navigation features (including a short, guided route) and observe their functionality. Does navigation operate correctly? The system is operating correctly at this time. The concern was a result of obstructions in the antenna's line of sight for an extended period of time. GO to AB3 AB3 RESET THE APIM (SYNC MODULE) Open and close the LHF door. Simultaneously press and hold the SEEK UP and POWER buttons on the FCIM for 10 seconds. The touchscreen turns black as system reset begins. After the reset is complete, access Bezel Diagnostics. REFER to: Bezel Diagnostics (415-00C Information and Entertainment System - General Information - Vehicles With: AM/FM/CD/SYNC/Touchscreen Display, General Procedures). Monitor the "Number of Satellites" and "Fix Mode" in APIM Location Information. Wait at least 10 seconds. Using a diagnostic scan tool, retrieve all Continuous Memory Diagnostic Trouble Codes (CMDTCs). Is DTC U0121:00 set in the APIM? GO to Pinpoint Test AF GO to AB24 AB5 CHECK THE GPS COAXIAL CABLE FOR A SHORT TO VOLTAGE, SHORT TO GROUND, OR OPEN Using a diagnostic scan tool, clear all Continuous Memory Diagnostic Trouble Codes (CMDTCs). Wait at least 10 seconds. Using a diagnostic scan tool, retrieve all Continuous Memory Diagnostic Trouble Codes (CMDTCs). Is DTC B119F:01 or DTC B119F:13 set in the APIM? GO to AB6

GPS coaxial cable core at the APIM (component side) Ground Is the voltage between 4.7 and 5.8 volts? GO to AB24 AB7 CHECK FOR ACM DTC B1A89:11 OR DTC B1A89:13 Using a diagnostic scan tool, clear the ACM Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs). Using a diagnostic scan tool, perform the ACM self-test. Is DTC B1A89:11 or DTC B1A89:13 set in the ACM? GO to AB9 GO to AB8 AB8 INSPECT THE SATELLITE RADIO/GPS (GLOBAL POSITIONING SYSTEM) COAXIAL CABLE AT THE APIM (SYNC MODULE) Access the satellite radio/gps coaxial cable behind the APIM. REFER to: SYNC Module [APIM] (415-00C Information and Entertainment System - General Information - Vehicles With: AM/FM/CD/SYNC/Touchscreen Display, Removal Do not disconnect any electrical connectors on the APIM. Access Bezel Diagnostics. REFER to: Bezel Diagnostics (415-00C Information and Entertainment System - General Information - Vehicles With: AM/FM/CD/SYNC/Touchscreen Display, General Procedures). Monitor the UTC Time in APIM Location Information while performing a wiggle test on the accessible portion of the satellite radio/gps coaxial cable behind the APIM. Does the UTC Time increment up correctly during the wiggle test? GO to AB24 AB9 CHECK FOR CORRECT ACM OUTPUT VOLTAGE FROM THE SATELLITE RADIO COAXIAL CABLE CONNECTION Disconnect: Satellite radio antenna coaxial cable from the ACM. AB21 CHECK THE SATELLITE RADIO/GPS ANTENNA UNIT SHIELD FOR CONTINUITY TO GROUND Satellite radio/gps antenna coaxial cable shield at the antenna unit (component side) Ground Is the resistance less than 1 ohm? GO to AB24 GO to AB22 AB22 CHECK THE SATELLITE RADIO/GPS ANTENNA UNIT SHIELD FOR CONTINUITY TO ANTENNA UNIT BASE Remove the AM/ FM/satellite radio/gps antenna. REFER to: Audio Unit Antenna (415-00A Information and Entertainment System - General Information - Vehicles With: AM/FM/CD, Removal Satellite radio/gps antenna coaxial cable shield at the antenna unit (component side) Satellite radio/gps antenna base (unpainted surface) Is the resistance less than 1 ohm? INSPECT and REPAIR any corrosion on the antenna unit base and/or vehicle mounting surface. REINSTALL the antenna and ensure the proper torque value is achieved. INSTALL a new AM/ FM/satellite radio/gps antenna. AB23 CHECK FOR CORRECT ACM (AUDIO FRONT CONTROL MODULE) OPERATION

Repair: Corrosion (clean module pins or install new connectors or terminals) Damaged or bent pins (install new terminals or pins) Pushed-out pins (install new pins as necessary) Reconnect the ACM connectors and related in-line connectors. Make sure they seat and latch correctly. Operate the system and determine if the concern is still present. Is the concern still present? CHECK OASIS for any applicable Technical Service Bulletins (TSBs). If a TSB exists for this concern, DISCONTINUE this test and FOLLOW the TSB instructions. If no Technical Service Bulletins (TSBs) address this concern, INSTALL a new ACM. REFER to: Audio Front Control Module (ACM) (415-00C Information and Entertainment System - General Information - Vehicles With: AM/FM/CD/SYNC/Touchscreen Display, Removal The system is operating correctly at this time. The concern may have been caused by module connections. ADDRESS the root cause of any connector or pin issues. AB24 CHECK FOR CORRECT APIM (SYNC MODULE) OPERATION Disconnect and inspect the APIM connector and related in-line connectors. Repair: Corrosion (clean module pins or install new connectors or terminals) Damaged or bent pins (install new terminals or pins) Pushed-out pins (install new pins as necessary) Reconnect the APIM connector and related in-line connectors. Make sure they seat and latch correctly. Operate the system and determine if the concern is still present. Is the concern still present?
