CORE The Centre for Production Metrology Developed to speed production, CORE provides the ultimate in flexible 3D inspection solutions for advanced part measurement in today s global manufacturing industries. CORE is based upon a new concept of mechanical structure. Designed and manufactured at the renowned WENZEL CMM production facility in Wiesthal, Germany CORE has an inbred pedigree of accuracy, reliability and quality. CORE`s focus is measurements on the manufacturing floor. The fully integrated optical sensors provide the dexterity and measurement capability needed to rapidly inspect the complex geometry of today`s parts. CORE s focus is measurements on the manufacturing floor. CORE... Stable and Fast The CORE construction has been FEM optimized. Linear Guide-Ways with wide bearing spreads ensure long-life and stable operation even in the production environments from 18-30 C. An optional Protection Cover helps with difficult light and shop floor conditions. An integral, high resolution, direct drive Rotary Table provides synchronous part positioning to the measuring sensor further optimizing inspection cycle through a complete simultaneous 5 axies motion. Maximum scanning speed is up to 400 mm/s across the surface of the part. Two Sensor Versions CORE... Your Inspection Eyes Double Eye Sensor The double eye, innovative, scanning sensor of CORE has the unique capability of measuring highly reflective and polished surfaces. It s large stand-off and measuring range minimizes machine motion during measurement, optimizing cycle times. Together with its angle of approach, down to an amazing 85 degrees from the surface normal, the large stand-off and measurement range provides excellent conditions for measuring parts with difficult accessibilities. The traditional CMM cosine probing errors, caused by measuring complex surfaces away from their surface nominal s, are completely eliminated by CORE providing the optimum in system accuracy. CORE can scan complex part geometry or measure features by the recording of individual point data; similar to a conventional touch-probe CMM only much faster. High angle acceptance CORE... Your Inspection Field PHOENIX Sensor The PHOENIX applies the phase-shift method using structured light projection for fast full field digitalisation and measurement of parts. The measurement field is ~ 40 x 30 mm. The sensor is relatively insensitive to extraneous light and delivers reliable results independently of the ambient lightning conditions. For the definition of the measurement process the software uses the CAD model for an automatic scan path generation. PHOENIX Schematic Illustration

CORE Software CORE utilizes the I++ DME interface allowing operation with your choice of software. Standard offerings include the native DMIS software OpenDMIS as well other I++ clients. Both OpenDMIS and Pointmaster offer a shop floor Program Launch Interface allowing machine operation by personnel without specific qualifications or training. In addition, Win3DS from WENZEL ScanTec, a comprehensive inspection and analysis software dedicated to the measurement of turbine blades, can be supplied. Open DMIS (For Double Eye Sensor) CORE is also supported by OpenDMIS, measuring software which has an intuitive user-interface with seamless CAD integration and features native DMIS as its programming language feature based measurement program generation allows the operator fast and intuitive creation of a measurement program. The measurement report can be adapted very flexible to the part. An Executive Interface for the operator simplifies handling and minimizes the operator influence. PointMaster (For PHOENIX Sensor) In combination with PHOENIX the PointMaster software is used for measuring and dimensioning. The PointMaster generates CNC scan programs and measurement protocols automatically. Virtual CMM allows dimensional evaluation of assemblies directly on the 3D model. The software is PTB certified and supports the CAD formats IGES, STEP, SAT, CATIA V5 and VDA-FS. PointMaster I++ DME Server I++ DME is a vendor neutral interface between CMM and inspection software. Thanks to the universal interface it is easy to exchange (plug and play) CMMs and inspection software, respectively purchased independently. Standard inspection software in your company, for different CMMs and brands, decreases the costs for training and increases the flexibility deployment of the staff. CORE Two Scanning Modes High-Precision Pointwise Scanning With the Double-Eye-Sensor the CORE DS is perfectly qualified for high speed scanning of profile sections and other applications under shop floor conditions. A maximum scanning speed of 400 mm/s guarantees an advantage in time by the factor of approximately 4 compared to a standard CMM. Fullfield Scanning Sensor With the PHOENIX the CORE is perfectly qualified for fullfield measurement of complete surfaces and analysis e. g. Nominal-Actual-Comparison on the production line or in quality control.
