Now the Way Station is a place for having tons of fun as we learn about God, but we also have to do something very important! We have to learn to pay close attention so we don t miss what God is trying to teach us! So let s start off with some prayer! Host Leads Kids in Prayer We ve been talking about STEWARDSHIP this month! Does anyone remember what the word stewardship means? (Allow responses) ELEM UseIt WK 3 (1) Stewardship is taking care of what you have because it all belongs to God! Our memory verse for this series talks about that too! Let s review it together! Say it with me: Whoever can be trusted with very little can also be trusted with much... Luke 16:10a Remember, if you can say the memory verse to your small group leader or one of the leaders here in the Way Station, you will receive the series pin! (Host shows memory verse pin) So back to stewardship. Stewardship is just a fancy way of saying to take care of what you got! In doing so, we honor God, the Giver of all good things! ELEM UseIt WK 3 (2) How do we honor God, you might be wondering? Let s say you lend someone (pulls out toy) your favorite toy or your favorite (shows video game) video game. Then you go over to their house and you see it lying on the floor with a broken piece, or you see your video game all scratched up. Did that person show you they cared for what you had given them? (Allow response) No way! But if you saw how much they cared for what you ve lent them, I m sure you would appreciate it! In that same way, we can honor God when we take care of the blessings He s given us! Oh yeah, that sounds like our game music! So far this month we ve talked about using our time wisely and using our things wisely! We re going to play a game where you have to do a little bit of both. Pointing to matching game. On the floor you ll see a giant matching game! Each contestant will have only 15 seconds to find a matching pair of cards by flipping over two at a time! If you don t find a pair when time runs out, you re out of the game! If you do find a matching pair before time runs out, you will receive a prize! Let s play Match that Card! UseIt_Lesson That was so intense! The trick for this game was using your time wisely! Today, we re going to talk about using our money wisely! Thankfully, the Bible includes a TON of instructions about how God wants us to handle the money He allows us to have. We ll find some in the New Testament of our Bibles in a letter called 2 Corinthians. All right everyone, let s check in with Kellen and our Bible Story! On the other hand, if you do the work to plant lots and lots of seeds, then you will likely see a big harvest. All of this brings us to our Bottom Line for today! UseIt_Wk 3_Bottom Line_Slide I don t know about you, but I want to be like Good Stewie! If you don t throw down a lot of seed, you can t expect much of a harvest. That is so true of our God! Unlike time or things or even our money, God s love is here to stay! Let s worship! Now you may not have a job or an allowance, but God loves a cheerful giver. So whenever you do get a few bucks, you can give back to God through your offering.
