Meet our X-perts at ONS 2012 The Siemens ONS X-pert Center: Innovation and firsthand information at your service! Visit the X-pert Center at the Siemens ONS booth, meet our experts, and learn more about Siemens innovative answers for oil and gas offshore solutions. After each presentation, you can join our experts for a discussion of our visions and innovations for tomorrow s business in the oil and gas industries and learn about the solutions that can upgrade your processes to their highest levels of efficiency and availability. Abstracts of our X-pert Center presentations for unlocking the full subsea Subsea production and other enabling systems help the oil and gas industry improve recovery factors and minimize costs. Many of these technologies are still in their infancy, and the innovation required for operations in ever-deeper waters places special demands on solution suppliers. In the areas of power supply, water treatment, rotating equipment, and automation, Siemens is a technology leader and this foundation has been enabling us to actively develop subsea technologies for decades. Our current portfolio at ONS consists of five focus fields: power, distribution, control, processing, and surveillance, all aimed at facilitating large-scale subsea processing. Offshore drilling: DP3 closed ring for offshore Power management is of central importance for dynamic positioning. Failures in the power system or components and external faults need to be identified as soon as they occur and isolated from the rest of the system. In a DP3 system mode in closed-ring configuration, this is exactly what happens. And in the event of a malfunction in the primary protection devices, a backup system will go into operation. Siemens has worked with drilling majors and the classification society to develop solutions for in DP3 mode with one fully-integrated power system. Powerful FPSO solutions: from concept to operation Realizing the highest availability and operational efficiency are major challenges for FPSOs. Limited space makes an integrated design of all topside solutions indispensable. Thanks to our leading technologies and our wealth of experience in equipping FPSOs, as well as delivering comprehensive lifecycle services, we can offer turnkey solutions for. Hall 6 Visit us at ONS 2012, Booth 976, Hall J to Hall K, B Siemens combined BOG/EFG compressor solution for FLNG Siemens is the world s technology and market leader for single-shaft centrifugal compressors for boil-off gas (BOG) recovery at LNG baseload (production) plants. With decades of experience in one of the most demanding gas compression, we have now adapted our unique, companyspecific design features for BOG compressors in LNG receiving stations. By merging the two originally distinct compressors for BOG and end-flash gas (EFG) compression stages into a single-casing compressor solution with two process stages, the compressor train s space requirement and weight are drastically reduced. There are significant fluctuations in the amount of BOG and end-flash gas produced in both daily operations and throughout the lifecycle of the natural gas field, so the compressor train needs to be both flexible and highly available. The combined BOG/EFG turbo compressor uses a combination of speed control of the steam turbine and variable-inlet guide vanes (IGV) on the compressor for optimal flexibility. Applications: covering the A reliable power supply using the locally available fuels is critical for offshore operations. Siemens has a broad spectrum of light industrial gas turbines that have proven experience in. This presentation gives an overview of the product portfolio, including the latest products and uprates, and provides an introduction to fuel flexibility in the gas turbine range. Special focus will be on Siemens lightweight heavy-duty industrial gas turbines SGT-700 and SGT-750. solution for gas-deficient In a number of cases, heavy-oil developments have insufficient associated gas to fuel a gas turbine-based power plant for the entire life of the field. This necessitates treating the produced heavy crude and using it as the fuel for power generation. With nearly half a million hours of experience with crude oil and heavy fuel oil (HFO), along with its capacity for mixed fuel operation (bi-fuelling), the Siemens SGT-500 gas turbine offers a compact and economical solution for offshore power generation on heavy-oil developments. Water solutions for Siemens offers a comprehensive range of water-related solutions for enhanced oil recovery. These solutions include, but are not limited to, treatment of seawater for marine growth control, solids removal, scalent removal (sulfate), and oxygen removal. In addition, Siemens has the capabilities and technologies to completely re-use produced water for enhanced oil recovery, including water reinjection and steam flooding. This presentation will also reveal the latest innovations in water injection/reinjection, including the Siemens microfiltration technology, which has been modified specifically for offshore oil production. Total solutions for produced water treatment This presentation introduces our broad spectrum of solutions and treatment alternatives for produced water. These offer the right technologies for all project concerns and customer requirements, including footprint, discharge requirements, residuals management, operational cost, capital cost, and others. The presentation will also describe the latest Siemens innovations in produced water treatment, such as the Monosep walnut-shell filter technology. Scalable, safe, and integrated automation solutions for A ten-minute introduction to the Siemens automation portfolio, highlighting the main features and benefits for the offshore market from exploration to production.
for hydrocarbon pipelines The need for early detection of leaks during cargo offloading is becoming critical for offshore operators and duty holders. The presentation will highlight Siemens technology for accurately detecting leaks in offloading systems using ultrasonic flow measurement techniques. engineering to integrated With our unique COMOS concept, customers can integrate their project s assets over the entire lifecycle of their installation and its equipment. The unified COMOS data platform provides plant engineers, construction companies, and operators with a seamless information flow of project-relevant data across all levels of the business and all project stages. The result: greater transparency, more efficient workflows, higher productivity, and increased quality thanks to perfect coordination of the engineering and operations domains. The presentation will discuss the various Siemens products that are availble and can be used to build subsea distribution networks or included in subsea distribution networks for controlling and monitoring subsea production and processes Engineering services for Chemtech, a Siemens business, has a strong presence in the upstream engineering market and a highly qualified team to meet engineering needs in both offshore and onshore. With experience developing projects from conceptual to detail engineering, we are the partners of choice for major players such as Petrobras, OGX, Repsol and others in the development of complete offshore units, repumping platforms, reinjection systems, oil and gas treatment systems, and flow systems. Chemtech also designs fully-integrated and modular power and control solutions and has configured and commissioned complete systems including full-field instrumentation, control and management systems, and power distribution and management modules. Our innovative team has been engaged in the development of pre-salt projects, fully integrated exploration and production management solutions, and subsea systems for deep water.
