GS step 1 mounting tracks on wall The tracks are mounted using appropriate fasteners for the type of wall in your display space; these can be purchased at any hardware store. For drywall/plaster walls, #8 wood screws can be used if they can be driven securely into wall studs. Select screws that are long enough to pass through the track and wall material and extend at least 1-1/2 inches into the stud. If you need to affix track at a point where no stud is available, use 1/8-inch toggle bolts or expanding wall anchors (molly bolts). You may need to use a mix of fasteners. For brick or masonry walls, use hammer-in anchors, lead screw anchors, or other medium-duty anchoring hardware that can accommodate a 1/8-inch mounting bolt; 1/8-inch concrete screws can also be used. and do not mount the track higher than about 9 feet above the floor, to ensure proper lighting coverage. Wall tracks can be mounted in a continuous line across your wall, or in separate sections with gaps between. When using the Clear Tape System, allow 1-5/8 inches of space in corners and/or between sections, to allow room for insertion of hangers. Use a section of track as a straightedge to draw a level horizontal line at the desired height, and mark both track and wall with the locations for mounting fasteners (preferably at wall studs for a drywall/plaster wall). Each 2-meter section of track should have five fasteners; shorter sections should have one fastener every 16-18 inches. Wall tracks can be mounted flush with the ceiling or at any desired height below it. If the lighting option will be used, leave at least 1 inch of clearance above the track for installation of light wands, Fig. 1 Fig. 2 Using the V-groove in the back of the track as a guide, drill holes of appropriate size for your mounting hardware at the marked points. Then, place the track in desired location and use a pencil or awl inserted in each hole to mark the wall for drilling. Drill pilot holes (for wood screws) or appropriate-sized holes for other fasteners. Insert fasteners and tighten securely. Optional wood molding fits in place easily for a more-traditional natural look; can be stained or painted. Optional end caps give track ends a clean finish simply insert after mounting. p. 3 of 5

GS step 2A installing hangers AND HOOKS stainless steel cable Fig. 3 Fig. 4 Fig. 5 Fig. 6 Fit the cable into the hanger and feed it all the way through so the brass fitting sits on the hanger. Slide the hanger into the track, or insert it at any point by lifting the front edge and tilting the upper part into the track. The hanger can then be positioned anywhere along the track. If you re using Push Button Hooks, fit the cable into the top of the hook and feed it through. Hold down the push button and the hook can be adjusted freely up or down. Release the button and the hook grips the cable firmly, ready to hold your art. Fig. 7 If you re using the Classic Hook, insert the cable into the hook s groove, and lock the hook in the desired position by tightening the hex screw with the provided wrench. You can put more than one hook on a hanger, as long as the total weight of items to be hung does not exceed the specified limits (see chart on page 5). Important note: DO NOT CUT EXCESS CABLE that extends out below the artwork, as this can cause the cable to fray and make it difficult to thread new hooks into place. Instead, coil the cable and secure it with a twist tie or cable tie, or simply hang it on the bottom hook. p. 4 of 5

GS step 2B installing hangers AND HOOKS CLEAR TAPE Fig. 8 Fig. 9 Fig. 10 Fig. 11 Cut desired length of tape from roll, allowing about 2 inches extra for attachment to hanger. Hold capsule as shown, with locking bar up and to the left, and bring end of tape up through the slot in the bottom. Bring the end of the tape TOWARDS YOU and create a loop by passing the end back down through the slot in the bottom (IMPORTANT: short end must be closest to you). Tuck the end of the locking bar through the loop, and press it down into its closed position (the tape should wrap around the locking bar with the short end closest to you). Press the locking bar firmly down into its closed position, and tug gently on the long end of the tape to snug it into place. You should feel the tape locking tightly around the locking bar as you increase the tension. (NOTE: if tape is not looped in the correct direction, it will not lock tightly and could slip out). Insert hanger into the track from one end and and slide it to any position along the track. Fig. 12 You can put more than one hook on a hanger, as long as the total weight of items to be hung does not exceed the specified limits below. Important Weight Limits for Original Gallery System Hanging Systems Insert the clear tape into the hook, and and lock the hook in the desired position by tightening the hex screw with the provided wrench.
