Function rerequisites for urner strtup he urner cn e strted only when: - the urner control s sequence switch is in its strt position - the urner control hs not locked out, e.g. cused y defective UV tue - the contcts of ll control nd sfety devices in the control loop etween terminls 8 nd 9 re closed - the ir pressure switch does not indicte ir pressure Defects in the flme supervision circuit or in the urner control itself prevent strtup or led to lockout during the strtup sequence. Attention! If the ir dmper is not controlled y the urner control, terminls 20, 21 nd 22 must e interconnected. rogrm sequence on strtup First, the fn motor is ctivted vi terminl 3, nd the ctutor is controlled vi terminl 22. As soon s the ir dmper reches its fully open position, the urner control s sequence switch strts running nd the prepurge time commences. he minimum ir pressure set on the ir pressure switch must e reched within 10 seconds (5 seconds with the LFE1.1) (or 7 seconds [3.5 seconds with the LFE1.1] with postpurging) nd must e mintined until controlled shutdown occurs. Otherwise, the urner control will initite lockout. A flme signl during the prepurge time lso leds to lockout. On completion of the set prepurge time, the dmper receives the control commnd to return to the fully closed position. he sequence switch remins sttionry during the time the ir dmper trvels to its closed position. As soon s the signl contct for minimum ir is operted y the ctutor, the sequence switch strts running gin nd continues with the urner s progrm sequence, which cn no longer e influenced from externlly: - reignition (3 seconds / 1.5 seconds with the LFE1.1) - Relese of the first fuel vlue t terminl 5 (the fuel vlve of pilot urner, which must e shut on completion of the second sfety time, must e connected to terminl 10) - Completion of the set sfety time. If no flme is estlished during tht period of time, lockout will occur (lwys with interlocking of the urner control) - Following n intervl of 11 seconds (5.5 seconds with the LFE1.1) of the first fuel vlve, the second fuel vlve will e relesed - he pilot urner, if connected to terminl 10, will e shut - he lod controller will e switched on following further intervl of 12 seconds (6 seconds with the LFE1.1). he urner s operting position hs thus een reched. From now on, the lod controller controls the urner s output y incresing or decresing the fuel throughput nd the ir flow in response to the het demnd (rtio control). his cn e ccomplished either in stepwise fshion, e.g. with thermostt, or continuously y mens of modulting controller Loss of flme during opertion lwys leds to lockout. Strtup with ignition sprk supervision In principle, the progrm sequence is the sme s strtup without ignition sprk supervision. Exceptions: - If the UV flme detector does not receive n input signl during the preignition time, lockout will occur efore ny gs is relesed, tht is, sfety time SA = 0 seconds - With ignition sprk supervision, the sfety time for the pilot urner cn only e djusted etween 0...6 seconds (= SA in the sequence digrm of the sequence switch) 8/18

Function (cont d) Control sequence following controlled shutdown Control sequence following lockout reset of the urner control rogrm indictor Controlled shutdown tkes plce s soon s one of the control or monitoring devices in the control loop etween terminls 8 nd 9 opens its contcts. As result, the fuel vlves re immeditely shut nd the sequence switch is restrted to progrm postpurging, if scheduled. On completion of the postpurge time, the sequence switch hs reched its strt position gin, which is mintined until the next switch-on commnd is given. During the postpurge time, flme supervision is strted gin. Hence, ny flme signl tht occurs during tht period of time will led to lockout. After pressing the uilt-in or remote lockout reset utton, the sequence switch will return to its strt position. In tht cse, the only urner plnt component tht is switched on is the fn motor connected to terminl 17. Since in norml circumstnces the control thermostt or pressurestt continues to cll for het, the urner control immeditely triggers new strt when the strt position is reched. he progrm indictor continuously indictes the progress of the strtup sequence. he letters on the indictor disk correspond to those in the djcent sequence switch digrm. he numers give the remining prepurge time. In the event of lockout, oth sequence switch nd progrm indictor stop, showing the phse of opertion during which lockout occurred.
