About CVM: Charutar Vidya Mal was established in the year 1945 by Shri Bhaikaka Shri Bhikabhai Saheb as a charitable trust with a prime objective of rural development through education to bring about the social awakening, social upliftment enrichment. Over the subsequent years, Dr. H M Patel (the first finance minister of India) consolidated the efforts put in by the founders. Various self-financed educational institutions started being established in the areas of Technology, Science Engineering, Commerce Management, offering emerging innovative courses programs. At present, CVM operates 48 educational Institutions with 45000 students on the rolls from 18 states 12 countries across the world under the dynamic chairman Shri Bhikhubhai Patel. About BVM: Seven decades ago, Shri Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel kindled a lamp of rural knowledge centre Vallabh Vidyanagar in Gujarat, today this centre is a Bodhigaya for over forty thous young scholars studying in thirty six disciplines affiliated to Sardar Patel University Gujarat Technological University. A branch sprigged out from this Bodhigaya tree for technical education as Birla Vishvakarma Mahavidyalaya (BVM) exactly 101 years after the technical education was initiated in India. Functioning under the umbrella of Charutar Vidya Mal (CVM), BVM is the first engineering college of Gujarat state established way back in 1948. BVM is the first Autonomous Engineering institute of Gujarat to obtain academic autonomy for all its UG & PG programs, from University Grant Commission (UGC).More than 20000+ engineers have graduated from BVM College. It offers B.Tech M.Tech degree courses. The college is affiliated to the Gujarat Technological University. It is a matter of pride, that the Institute has successfully completed prestigious World Bank Assistance Project, TEQIP-II of INR 10 crores further has been awarded with TEQIP-III grant of INR 7 crores. Majority programs of BVM are awarded accreditation by NBA-AICTE.BVM is listed in top 200 Engineering institutes in NIRF ranking 2017. TEQIP III project BVM has been selected under as a mentor under sub-component - 1.3 Twinning Arrangements to Build Capacity Improve Performance of Participating Institutes. Page 2 of 9
The Departments of Electronics Engineering was established in 1984 at BVM. Dedicated faculty members, meritorious students, well equipped laboratories, skilled support staff, are major strengths of the department. Department Vision: Produce Innovative Globally accepted Electronics Engineers with core values Department Mission: Promote innovative practices to strengthen teaching learning process in Electronics engineering Develop faculty staff members to meet challenges in Electronics engineering Adapt engineering curricula to meet global requirements for Electronics engineering program Reform policies, systems processes at all levels. Imbibe core values. Objectives of the National Faculty Development Program: The participants will be able to: Explain the concepts of computational Electromagnetics. Illustrate the key elements of High frequency simulations. Design, simulate, optimize antennas for the given specification. Characterize measure the parameters of antenna using VNA with technical advancement impetus on quality education globalization, it is much required to enhance update the technical education through research development. Keeping in mind the above scenario, this National Faculty Development Program is in tune with the above objectives for the discipline of Computer, Electrical, Electronics related Dept. About Program: The program provided an immersive learning experience on the concepts of computational Electromagnetics runs through the design of filters, wave guides different types of Antennas using industry stard 3D electromagnetic simulation tools like HFSS. HFSS is high frequency structure simulator it is high performance full wave electromagnetic field simulator 3D volumetric passive device modelling that takes advantages of familiar Microsoft Windows graphical user interface.it integrates simulation, visualization, solid modelling automaton in easy to learn environment. Typical uses 1. Package Modelling 2. PCB Board Modelling 3. EMC/EMI 4. Antenna Mobile Communications 5. Connectors 6. Waveguide 7. Filters Mathematical Method used in HFSS, a numerical technique called the finite element method. This is procedure where a structure is subdivided into many smaller subsection called finite element. The finite element used by HFSS are tetrahedral entire collection of tetrahedral is called mesh. Solution is found for the fields within the finite element these fields are interrelated so that Maxwell's equations are satisfied across inter element yielding a field solution for the entire original structure. Once the field solution has found the s matrix solution is determined. HFSS is full wave 3D electromagnetic high frequency structure simulator. HFSS is based on frequency domain FEM (finite element method) simulation technology. HFSS integrates solid modeling, simulation visualization in a common environment. It divide complete structure in tetrahedral mesh then boundary conditions are applied. Maxwell equation inside structure is solved using finite element method.
