Leading Edge Technology Advanced Bolt Inspection Bolting, like any other structural component, is susceptible to degradations such as corrosion wastage and cracking. Compromised retainers, such as bolting, can cause uneven stresses and possible catastrophic failure of a flanged connection as well as suspended structures like bridges, flare stacks, and process columns. In order to comply with safety regulations and to maintain structural integrity, it is required for structural and pressure retainer bolting to be inspected on a periodic basis. If found defective, continued monitoring and/or replacement may be required. Visual Inspection and hammer-testing will not discover hidden problems such as crevice corrosion, uniform corrosion at moisture/air interface (necking-down), or cracking that has initiated at the thread base under the retainer nuts or structure base. Advanced Bolt Inspection provides a practical solution for performing corrosion and crack detection and subsequent monitoring of bolts, threaded studs or shafts. ABI can determine the extent of corrosion or diameter loss and identify cracking without the removal of bolts, thus eliminating equipment downtime by performing inspections on site while bolting is installed. The Advanced Bolt Scanner is a Phased Array Ultrasonic system using encoded orbiting scanner that provides a practical solution for corrosion monitoring and crack detection. It provides clear images showing bolt shank and thread condition. Inspection is performed without removal of the bolts or studs, thus eliminating downtime and enabling on-site inspection. Access to only one side of the bolting is needed for complete testing of the entire bolt saving time and allowing inspection of inserted studs. Since the scanner is encoded it allows for accurate repeatable inspections for future monitoring of known defects that are discovered. Bolt Transducer Objectives of performing primary analysis using Advanced Bolt Inspection: Gives immediate feedback on the condition of bolt Allows groups of bolt into categories: No corrosion, Minor, Moderate & Severe Allows integrity groupings: Cracked versus no cracking noted Decision can be made on-site regarding placement Data can be identified for further analysis and reporting The different scanner diameter allows for scanning variety of sizes

Leading Edge Technology Advanced Tube Inspection Millions of dollars are lost each year by America s businesses and manufacturers due to heat exchanger tube failures. Tube failures could cause a stop in manufacturing processes, thus delaying and / or preventing product deliveries. A quality tube inspection program is necessary to detect the damage before failure occurs. ACTT provides a wide-range of advanced tube inspection programs and techniques to determine the integrity of heat exchanger tubing. ACTT combines the newest technology and inspection equipment available with highly trained and skilled technicians to provide you with the most advanced tube inspection program offered. Eddy Current Testing provides the fastest and most accurate way to inspect non-ferrous heat exchanger tubing. Typically 900 tubes can be inspected in a shift with computerized analysis for more accurate inspection results. Used with non-ferromagnetic materials Can detect wall loss, pitting, cracks, baffle wear Less cleaning required compared to other techniques Can inspect up to 900 tubes per shift Gives results in percent of wall loss Only needs an electrical source. We can provide this using a generator 3D Image of Pit IRIS Scan Remote Field Testing (RFT) can only be performed on ferrous tubing with effective detection of wall loss. Remote Field Testing speeds are faster than IRIS inspections and can inspect 400 tubes per shift. IRIS inspection can be used to back up signals detected by RFT. Used with ferromagnetic materials Can detect wall loss, pitting, baffle wear, cracks if in large clusters Less cleaning required compared to IRIS Can inspect up to 400 tubes per shift Gives results in percent of wall loss Only needs an electrical source. We can provide this using a generator IRIS Inspection is performed on ferrous and non-ferrous tube materials with accurate wall thickness measurements. IRIS inspection can detect defects under large masses such as tube sheets and baffles. Inspection speeds are slow (150 tubes per shift) and are very dependent on tube cleanliness. Used with ferromagnetic and non-ferromagnetic materials Can detect wall loss, pitting, and baffle wear Intense cleaning is required Can inspect up to 150 tubes per shift Gives actual thicknesses
