Minimum Requirements for Obtaining a Permit The Regulations of the Consolidated City of Indianapolis/Marion County apply to all property located within Marion County, Indiana. As such, all signs in Marion County must be permitted according to the Regulations of Indianapolis/Marion County. All applicable regulations can be obtained from Chapter 734 of the Revised Code, which is published in the online library at http://www.municode.com. The applicant should be aware of the Regulations for Indianapolis/Marion County prior to drawing the plans necessary for application for a sign permit. Completed Business Permit Application In addition to a completed Business Permit Application, two (2) copies of each of the following documents are required. 1. The applicant must submit proof of consent by the property owner to apply for a sign permit. 2. Site plan requirements Must be drawn to scale of 1 inch = 30 feet or an acceptable Engineer scale. (1 = 20, 1 = 40 ) Must indicate all dimensions of the site. Centerlines and right-of-way lines of all public and private streets or alleys and easements.
