Multi Channel Box. Up to 32 Measuring Channels. Sensitec offers a completely new evaluation unit for the valve train measurement system (VTM-System). All the experience acquired with the successful 1-channel system has made a contribution to the development of this new device and many customer requirements are now implemented. The new unit (SPP-3001) is extendable up to 32 measurement channels, provides a higher resolution and offers better measurement comfort. The existing user interface has been completely revised and updated: A new look, extended features and more measurement functions are available. The system also now supports some additional sensors from Sensitec. Portable system Real-Time Valve Train Measurement. Compared to the previous model the SPP-3001 provides a considerably higher sampling frequency (1 MHz). The valve position is detected within 1 µm and the value is given in real time as analog voltage. The system provides a reliable measurement of rapid valve motion. The maximum lifting movement has been extended and the functionality to measure the valve rotation is completely integrated. Depending on the number of channels different housing systems are available. This simplifies the mechanical integration into the existing environment. Valve spring Valve stem How does the Measurement work? Sensitec Sensor highly integrated. Sensor module The measurement is based on a GMR sensor with a bias magnet which scans a ferromagnetic measurement structure machined into the valve stem. The measurement principle an also be applied for non-magnetic material, even though this requires some additional modifications. Since the sensor is very precise and exhibits negligible hysteresis the measurement accuracy is < 10 µm. Valve guide
Valve Train Measurement in Fired Engines. The VTM-System (Valve Train Measurement System) from Sensitec has been developed for the precise length measurement at difficult measuring sites such as the valve train measurement in fired combustion engines. With the development of the new VTM valve train measurement system the modern GMR sensor technology combined with a powerful evaluation electronics is able to solve a highly complex measurement task by means of a surprisingly simple and effective measurement solution. Initially the VTM-System has been developed for a direct measurement at the valve shaft. Nevertheless, it is no problem to use it for other applications, especially when precise measurement is required in small envelopes or under extreme conditions. Since the valve stem is precisely made it is ideally suited as measurement scale. The subsequently applied mechanical structure has no impact on normal valve operation. Valves are normally made of ferromagnetic material. Non-magnetic variants (e. g. titanium) can also be used as measurement scales, however, this requires some additional modifications. We would be glad to advise you on this. We offer even more... After a principal evaluation and definition of the points of measurement we offer different service packages for the integration of the sensors. These may vary depending on the specific measurement task. Service package I Advice regarding the design of the modification of the cylinder head. Service package II Mechanical machining of the valve guide (valve guides are provided by the customer). Service package III Mechancal machining of the cylinder head (normally done by the customer). Service package IV Integration of the sensors into the cylinder head at our plant in Lahnau. Service package V Processing of the valves for the measurement task.
Configuration & calibration VTM-System with installed measurement valves Measuring data acquisition of customer SPP-3001 sensor evaluation Analog output with calculated valve lift curve in real time Your Advantages. Fast realization of measurement projects by our experts. We are very experienced in the integration of sensors in difficult measurement environments. Each project is a new challenge and we are happy find a solution for this. Robust sensor technology. Our magnetic sensors are the key to success. They are extremely small and very robust under demanding operating conditions. Safe measurement results. A very modern and intelligent evaluation electronics transfers the magnetic effect of our sensors into precise real-time measurement results. Excellent performance very good price. Valve train measurement or valve rotation measurement belongs to the most demanding measurement tasks around fired combustion engines. The solution offered by Sensitec provides first-class results and has established itself also for reasons of cost a standard method for many engine design engineers working on the measurement in fired engines. Modular services. We offer you individual service packages for the sensor integration. You decide which tasks you will carry out on your own. We provide reliable service and advice any time.
