Press release Konica Minolta receives another Fogra certification for its bizhub PRO C6501/C6501e digital printing system Langenhagen, Germany, February 2010 In combination with the IC-304 Plus controller, Konica Minolta s bizhub PRO C6501 and bizhub PRO C6501e achieved an independent quality certification. The digital colour production printing systems received the FograCert Validation Printing System accolade for its print performance with the CREO Color Server technology based IC-304 Plus controller and Konica Minolta Color Care software. Fogra Validation Printing System certification is based on ISO/CD 12647-8 and precisely defines the colours and appearance that validation prints must conform to, such as proofing substrate colour and gloss, permanence and light fastness, fading, rub resistance, colour accuracy, tone value reproduction limits, image register and resolving power, colorimetrical tone value reproduction, homogeneity, consistency, margin information and PDF/X conformance. The bizhub C6501/C6501e colour production printing systems are now certificated when running with the optional IC-304 Plus controller offering print professionals validation prints that meet highest market standards. As the FograCert (report 23507) not only rates the single elements, but also the efficient combination of 1
printing system, paper, printing condition, controller and software, central reproduction departments (CRDs) and commercial printers (CPs) can rely on a powerful one-stop solution consisting of the IC-304 Plus controller, Konica Minolta Color Care software and the bizhub C6501/C6501e. The IC-304 Plus print controller, powered by CREO, is a powerful tool to streamline and control workflows. It ensures that operators get a simplified handling of both workflow and hardware, which is made possible by a graphical user interface that is intuitive and easy to operate. The Konica Minolta controller offers what is most in demand in today s production printing markets. The IC-304 Plus increases productivity of the bizhub PRO C6501 series and accelerates the digital colour systems print speed, both for static print jobs and Variable Data Printing (VDP). It also provides advanced colour management to produce offset-like print quality and full access to a wide range of finishing options. The Konica Minolta Color Care package is the second component that led the way to receiving Fogra certification. The software application gives a guarantee of achieving and maintaining a certain level of colour quality for any Konica Minolta colour device that it covers. Also included is a professional service offering to ensure that within the scope of the system almost contract proofing requirements are satisfied. The hardware part of the elements that make up the basis of the FograCert VPS is the bizhub PRO C6501 series that offers reliable and flexible productivity. With a print speed of 65 pages per minute, the systems provide a large throughput and heavy duty cycle. Furthermore, impressive media flexibility ensures that CRDs and CPs meet the most diverse requests in terms of print jobs. The devices come with Konica Minolta proprietary Simitri HD high definition polymerised toner that ensures environmentally friendly printing of fine lines and superb image quality. 2
