LK Wireless Room Control Cq Description LK Wireless Room Control Cq consists of a LK Room Thermostat Cq-n (transmitter) and a LK Receiver Unit Cq 8 (8 channel receiver unit). The range also includes a single channel receiver; for further information see separate instructions for LK Receiver Unit Cq. LK Repeater Cq (signal amplifier) is available as an accessory for use where transmission conditions are poor. For more information see separate instructions for the LK Repeater and the LK Repeater-HW. Design The LK Room Thermostat Cq-n regulates temperature in the rooms they are located via radio signals to the LK Receiver Unit Cq 8. The Receiver Unit converts the radio signals to control signals to activate individual manifold actuators. Therefore should the Receiver Unit be located nearby the manifold. specially designed for thermoelectric actuators. The control signal is calculated from the variance between the actual temperature and the set temperature and is emitted in the form of signals with varying pulse and rest ratios. The sum of the signal and rest period is always 0 minutes, to prevent rapid temperature variations switching the thermostat on and off rapidly. LK Room Thermostat Cq-n The LK Room Thermostat Cq-n is available in two colours: white and silver grey. The LK Room Thermostat Cq-n regulates room temperatures via radio signals to the LK Receiver Unit Cq 8. Regulation takes place using pulse width modulation (PBM) regulation that is Assembly of the LK Room Thermostat Cq-n Open the Room Thermostat by pulling off the temperature scale dial and loosening the screw now visible. Flex the cover to the left until it becomes loose. Position and fix the Room Thermostat as per the installation diagram. For the Room Thermostat to function properly, please note of the following: Mount the thermostat on an inner wall so it is ventilated and approx.. metres above the floor. The thermostat should not be exposed to direct sunlight or other heat sources. Do not mount the thermostat close to a radio, TV or another transmitter. Do not mount the thermostat close to metal doors, metal cabinets or similar as these may shield the radio signal. EN..C.68.080

LK Receiver Unit Cq 8 long periods, e.g. during the summer months. It is possible to connect a system s circulation pump to the Receiver Unit. The unit s pump logic shuts off the circulation pump when all the actuators are closed. The pump is exercised once per day to ensure it is working correctly. Read more under the heading Pump control. Design The LK Receiver Unit Cq 8 has eight channels. This means that a maximum of eight LK Room Thermostat Cq-n can be linked to the Receiver Unit. It is possible to link a thermostat to more than one channel. The unit can also control the on/off switch, for example, on a boiler. Read more under Boiler control. Display Each channel can control up to eight LK Actuators. However, there is only room for a maximum of four actuators per channel; if connecting eight actuators to one channel. The additional four must be connected using an external junction box. The maximum number of actuators that can be connected to the Receiver Unit must not exceed. The unit is supplied with an integrated -volt transformer. The Receiver Unit is supplied with a timer for eight channels for controlling each channel. Information about the status of a channel is shown in the LCD display. See more information under Display. The Receiver Unit is supplied with a clock that makes it possible, for example, to lower the temperature at night in selected rooms (night setback). The unit also comes with six different time profiles. Five of the profiles have fixed values and one is programmable. For more information see Programming of the clock under Time Profiles. Once a day all actuators are exercised to avoid potential seizure problems with valves closed for The Receiver Unit is also supplied with a display. See the table on next page for information about the functions. EN..C.68.080

The pump is turned off and the light diode for channel 8 turns off ten minutes after all channels have stopped requesting heat. Once every hours the pump is exercised. The exercising takes place at the same time as the valve exercising. Connect the pump according to the circuit diagram below. If there is more than one connection box in the installation, the boxes must be connected to each other for the pump logic to function correctly. NOTE. Mount the pull-relief included in the kit when connecting the pump. EN..C.68.080

R R R R R R6 R7 R8 P R8 R8 R8 P L N ~ ~ exercising The actuators are exercised once per day for prevent the valves from seizing. If the valve exercising is not required it can be set to off for each channel by taking off bridge circuit in the thermostat. Take off the temperature dial, loosen the screw and lift off the cover. Remove bridge circuit, marked BR in the circuit diagram. Boiler (heater) control Channel 7 on the Receiver Unit can be used to control the installation s boiler/heater, instead of thermostatic room temperature control. Provided a thermostat has not been programmed to channel 7, the channel functions as a one pole potential free, circuit breaker for the system s boiler/heater. If one of the channels -6 requests heat the circuit breaker is closed and the indicator light for channel 7 comes on. The boiler/heater connected will receive the on signal. The boiler/heater comes on and will be connected until all channels stop requesting heat. There is no idle delay. In addition, there is no exercising function for channel 7 when the channel is used to connect to a boiler. Connect the boiler/heater to channel 7 only as shown in the circuit diagram below. If there is more than one connection box in the installation, the boxes must be connected to each other. NOTE. Mount the pull-relief included in the kit when connecting the boiler.
