General Procedure 1. Raise the Roof is an optional blackjack side wager played with two standard decks of playing cards, shuffled together and dealt by hand. 2. The main blackjack game is played per house rules, dealer hits on soft 17. 3. To participate in the "Raise the Roof" portion of the game, play begins with each player making the main blackjack wager and a "Bust Ante" at house minimum or maximum. The main blackjack wager and the "Bust Ante" do not need to be of equal amounts. 4. After all wagers are placed, each player will receive two cards, face down, and the dealer will receive two cards, one face-up and one face down. 5. The dealer checks for a blackjack if necessary, the "Bust Ante" bet will lose if the dealer has a blackjack, and the main blackjack wager will be resolved per house blackjack rules. In the event the dealer is showing an Ace, insurance is not offered on the "Bust Ante" bet. 6. If the dealer does not have a blackjack, each player, in turn, may opt to bet nothing further on the "Bust Ante" bet or may raise on the "Raise the Roof" bet by making an additional wager at any amount with a maximum five (5) times the value of the "Bust Ante" bet. a. For example if the player placed $5 on the "Bust Ante", they may bet up to $25 on the "Raise the Roof" bet. 7. Next, play continues in line with standard blackjack. The main blackjack wagers are resolved per standard blackjack. 8. The "Bust Ante" and "Raise the Roof" bets will be resolved after the dealer plays their hand per the following rules: a. If the dealer does not bust, the "Bust Ante" and "Raise the Roof" bet, if placed, will lose. b. If the dealer busts, and the player placed a "Bust Ante" but did not place a "Raise the Roof" they will be paid 1:1 on the "Bust Ante". c. If the dealer busts, and the player placed the "Bust Ante", as well as a "Raise the Roof", both the "Bust Ante" and the "Raise the Roof" will be paid per a selected pay table based on the dealers final hand. 9. Each permutation was scored against the relevant pay table, and the results tallied. The probability of each result was multiplied by its value, to determine the average return to player per hand, and from there, the house advantage on the Raise the Roof side wager.
