As I reflect on the last 60 days of this major diet change, I wonder if one s diet is as important to others as it is to me. In my more in-depth conversations with clients over the last 60 days, I can see people are aware that it is incredibly important. ZeroForce Workouts While Traveling How many times have you had to travel for business or take an extended vacation and had to decide what you would do for your exercise while away from our facility? It s a common question, so I created a couple videos on my site for you to view when traveling to help you stay strong and not get injured until we can meet again. BulletProof plan in the last newsletter (access it here) there has been a rush of interest in how this diet is affecting me and if it's a good idea for others. That first article has some honest reporting on my experiences going from vegetarian to fat-eating, fat-burning BulletProof-er. So, here I want to cover what has changed for me over the second 30 days. Food Now, Food Later It amazes me how much time one can put into food on a daily basis. Thinking about food, choosing it, running to the store or out into the garden. Then it's the prep and cooking - another time-sink. What about all the clean up? Food is so important that it takes, I estimate, 25% of my conscious energy each day in one manner or another. So something that takes 25% of my energy and time must be important. Facts are facts. Since starting January 1, 2015 I've lowered my bodyfat from a consistent 11-11.5% in 2014 to a new low of 7.5-9%. When I watched the fat melt off after the first 30 days, I thought, "Well, this is great, but can it last?" Day 60 is here and I've just tested at a new low BF yesterday. Day 60 measurements: 8.7% BodyFat 167 lbs scale weight. I ve dropped another 1% bodyfat and 2.5 pounds scale weight. I am hopeful at this point the weight loss will plateau, but so long as the BF% continues to drop, I can say most of or even all is fat loss. This fact is a powerful motivator to keep going, but what about energy? Being A BulletProof Entrepreneur Daily energy requirements are important for us all, but if you run your own business (or several - as many of you do today) you know how much work it can take to keep energetic and focused. It almost sounds paradoxical to be using energy to improve energy but, like the Krebs Cycle in your body that makes MORE energy by using SOME energy, I'm finding that I can feel more energetic when I am doing things I enjoy. Even though it takes energy to do those things, I come out the other side feeling even better. This has become important to me because I want to be in top condition to perform well in all these areas of life - health, family, business and creativity. This new BulletProof plan has increased my energy so significantly that I amaze myself with my productivity! Still haven't found the time to become DST Newsletter V.2.1 3

that world-class guitarist, but business is improving, family time is improving and creativity is back! I'm noticing the energy to be more creative than I have in years. I guess free-time and more energy naturally lead to this end. Exciting! A fuller, richer life experience just adding in different foods, removing others and living in the moment. Nothing teaches like experience! Onward and Upward Using this diet plan has also awakened me to learn other bio-hacks. The better I feel, the more I want to try new ideas to then improve something else. It's an optimistic feeling that has been steadily growing over these 60 days. Where else can I change? What can be better? How about sleep? I estimate that sleep accounts for approximately 25-35% of my life in any given 24 hour period. I know the importance of sleep, but what can I do to improve it? According to Dave Asprey, what you eat before bed can make a significant difference in your sleep quality. That's already part of the BP diet plan, and I feel it is working for me to eat a small amount of fruit before bed each night. On top of that, I am allowing myself to increase the total hours of sleep each night. You might try the same thing, it's VERY helpful. Another 30-Day Goal DST Newsletter V.2.1 4

So, I've decided for the next 30 days to commit to a minimum of 7 hours of sleep per night. No excuses. This is a big change and one I expect big returns from. Since losing nearly 13 pounds on this BulletProof plan since Jan 1, I now want to add more muscle consistently. Sleep is one component that will really help do that. Time to add - not subtract! I've got a new, upgraded, bodyfat measuring device that will give me more data, and more precise information. I'll update you on that progress next month. If you've taken on the BP diet plan lately, I encourage you to consider these ideas in this post for yourself. At DST, we want to help you improve your strength consistently, and we want to help you live a more fulfilling and powerful life. These additional bio-hacks are not really that difficult to take on, and maybe you can come up with some for yourself that you'd like to share with the rest of us. Go ahead and try it! Multi-Tasking Efficiency Update and Results Multi-Tasking Is So00 2014 In the last newsletter (here), I mentioned that I was going to create four efficiency tasks over 30 days and see what kind of results I'd experience. Maybe you decided to take some on yourself? Here are my results: 1. Voicemail Here I challenged myself to check VM only two times per day in order to stay more focused on the moment and cut distractions. How'd I do? Many days I found I could check VM once upon waking, with the second check-in at 6PM. It was helpful for me, but also seemed to put me behind on some tasks or interactions. I can estimate 1 in every 3 days I missed that goal and had to check it 3 or more times. I felt like I got more things checked off my list, but it wasn't conducive to keeping me focused on THAT day's tasks I set for myself. In the end, it was almost as distracting as it was helpful, because I kept thinking I should be responding or checking it when a call came in. DST Newsletter V.2.1 6

So, for the next 30 days my goal is checking VM twice a day in just 5 out of 7 days each week. The other days are free. 2. Email Checking email at 6AM and 6PM was not difficult. It also seemed to keep me much less distracted. I found I could quickly go through many emails and reply immediately because all I was doing was email at that time. This was not a 100% successfully either, however. Weekends became much more random and it was easy to sneak a peak and reply. The goal over next 30 days is to be 100% compliant with email checking and ONLY reply between 3-5pm daily. Weekends will have to be more like 9-11 am. 3. Spirituality Well, this was my biggest challenge. I look back and see that it's just not a priorityto take these 30 minutes to meditate and listen to BrainWave training each day. The immediate needs of life take over so easily that I found I was squeezing in the meditation at then end and before bed most nights. I have to be honest with myself, so the next 30 days will be different. I will commit to every OTHER day of 30 minutes total time. A more reasonable and achievable goal. 4. Business Rocked this one! The Amazon business is moving faster and we are getting more step-by-step progress. Still much to be done, but it feels great to see movement and progress here. You may find that getting your friends or family on board will help you in this area as well if you discuss it ahead of time. There are less hurt feelings and more focus on THEM when that allotted time is over for business. DST Newsletter V.2.1 7

The next 30 days will continue this goal, and expect faster change with the Amazon business. Wrap-up I hope that reading this article gives you the impetus to start some efficiency goals for yourself. Maybe a walk before dinner each night? Maybe reading a story to your child before bed 5 nights a week? What do you think would bring the most enjoyment into your day? Reflect on that and bring it to life with a 30-day commitment. See how honest you can be with yourself. You are more in control of your time than you might think. It just takes a little planning and organization. Curcumin, the Super-Spice An ancient spice that has profound uses today Many of you have recently read about the benefits of the spice curcumin in your diet. Here I'd like to cover what I have found in researching and using this ancient and powerful herb. What Is Curcumin? An inexpensive and powerful component of a root, curcumin, is making a lot of press lately. There is good reason for this. But first, what is it? Curcumin is the primary polyphenol in the spice turmeric (or Indian Saffron) which gives the distinctive golden hue. You ve had turmeric in Indian curry dishes. Not only does it give amazing flavor, it benefits your body in numerous ways. Studies Prove It s Effective So many studies are now showing the benefits of curcumin. One amazing study from the journal Diabetes Care found that turmeric extract was 100% successful at preventing pre-diabetic patients from becoming diabetic over a 9-month intervention! Yes, you read that correctly most cancer deaths are preventable. You won't get the details about how to prevent cancer from the average doctor or Big Pharma, which is making billions of dollars in profits from cancer patients. But I can tell you that it is possible to protect yourself against cancer and even improve treatment for those already diagnosed. Start with the lifestyle changes outlined in my Pillars of Health plan. My first suggestion to anyone hoping to improve the odds of remaining cancer-free is to take curcumin supplements. now a new study shows that curcumin reduces the number of cancer stem cells, and enhances the effects of chemo. Apparently, this is because curcumin halts inflammation so well that it interferes with cancer s development - with virtually NO side-effects. It can even be taken intravenously for more cancer fighting power. There are so many other benefits of taking a quality supplement of curcumin. Studies also show significant benefits for fighting Depression, Alzheimers disease and even heart disease. It provides defense against health-damaging free radicals, cools inflammation, and dispenses with viruses, bacteria, and fungus. Get Enough To Make It Count Turmeric has only around 3% curcumin by weight, so you ll need to use an extract to get a useful amount of curcumin. Also, combining it with piperine (black pepper) enhances absorption of curcumin by 2000%. For something so simple and inexpensive to acquire, I hope all of you consider supplementing with curcumin. GMO Backwards Labeling The GMO Debate Is Moving - But Has It Really Gone Anywhere? Here in the U.S., up to 93% of corn, 94% of soybeans, and 96% cotton are genetically engineered. Now, 75% of processed goods and foods contain Genetically Modified Organisms (GMO). If you like to know what s in your food, or how it s made or handled, 70% of the population agrees with you. Celebrities touting the Just Label It campaign is raising more awareness. Good News? It seems our USDA has taken it s first blundering steps to provide you the information on food labeling. Until now, labeling products containing GMOs has been up to the producing company s standards. Even though the government continues to say GMOs are safe, enough pushback has created more legislation for food producers. I am always in favor of allowing companies to have control over their own products and letting the market decide what people want. For years, companies have paid to be certified by the private Non-GMO Project. This new legislation affects labeling GMO s - but not in the way you might think. DST Newsletter V.2.1 12

It seems that this plan will allow UN-altered foods to be labeled with a government-backed green and blue seal Non-GMO/GE Process Verified. The problem is those companies will have to pay for it! This will be a burden for the natural companies, while Big Ag companies don t have to do anything different. The backwards plan wants us to label everything but the GMO foods. What?! GMO Is OK? There is a study I read about long ago that showed rats, pigs, chickens and squirrels would not eat GMO corn, when given the choice. What do they sense? More than 40 developed countries already require GMO labeling (not the reverse, like here) - and I ve read that even China doesn t allow this fake frankenfood into their country. There may be debate over whether GMOs are a good or a bad idea and how they affect health, but having the knowledge before you purchase will at least provide you with choice - then let the market decide!
