The Inaugural WILD For PATCHES fundraising gala surpassed our expectations. The week before the event people were still calling for tickets to the gala which was already sold out. Over 400 were in attendance on this special night to celebrate honorees Bill Duquette CEO of Homestead Hospital, Mayor Cindy Lerner Pinecrest and Bob Levy of Robert M. Levy Associates. The three honorees have been instrumental in helping meet the many needs of PATCHES. PATCHES is blessed because of you care

A Letter From The Founders of PATCHES Giving Thanks The Wild for PATCHES Gala honoring Mr. Bill Duquette, Mayor Cindy Lerner, and Mr. Bob Levy was spectacular beyond our wildest dreams. We are extremely grateful to our honorees. Each has played an enormously important role in the growth and sustainability of PATCHES. Without them we would not be where we are today. Thank you Bill, Cindy and Bob! We want to give a special thanks to the many supporters who have been with us through our struggles from the very beginning every step of the way, who ve watched us grow. Without the many years of community grassroots support with garage sales, auctions, raffles, spaghetti dinners, rib-fest and Mardi Gras we would not be where we are today. Thank you! To our new supporters, we wish to give you thanks. With your help, we will be able to continue to meet many needs of the medically fragile children in our community of South Miami-Dade County. With your continued support we will be a little closer to making the PATCHES Village a reality. Thank you! We want to thank Mr. Ron Magill, Ms. Nicole Henry and Orquesta America for your distinct roles to make the Gala a not to be forgotten, fun-filled event with out of this world-class talent! Thank you! A special thank you goes out to Brianna and her nurse Donna. You both did an amazing job! Brianna, you were so brave and spoke so wonderfully from your heart. Donna, we miss you like crazy but understand family obligations supersede all else. Special appreciation goes out to the devoted Gala Committee and its incredible Chairperson, Maria Luisa (ML), and to all those who worked behind the scenes to make the gala a tremendously successful event. All the hard work, time, and frustrations of planning were worth it. The first PATCHES Gala exceeded everyone s dreams. Every single one of you made a difference and made the Gala possible. Thank you! With you, the PATCHES mission will continue and the vision of the PATCHES Village will become reality! We look forward to your ongoing support. Together, more miracles will be possible. We invite you to visit PATCHES and see for yourself all the miracles that happen every day. With heartfelt gratitude, Kyle Smith and Joanie Ippolito, PATCHES Founders Medical Director of PATCHES Dr. Dorsey & Mrs. Goosby Master of Ceremonies, Ron Magill with lovely wife Rita PATCHES Corporate Attorney Robert Hoffman & guest Donna Adkins

Ron Magill - Communications & Media Director of ZOO Miami and wild life specialist brought Preston his pet owl to the gala. Ron has raised this big guy since he was a baby. He now lives at the zoo for all to enjoy. Ron is a seasoned wildlife photographer. Ten very lucky people were able to purchase enlarged photos. The proceeds went to PATCHES. Thank you to our wonderful photographers Bonnie King-Moran & Raquel Gonzalez for volunteering to capture the event so that we may enjoy it for years to come.

Brianna s Story Brianna and her nurse Donna came to the gala to share her story. Brianna came to PATCHES when she was very, very little. Bob Levy is not getting dressed for Halloween he is putting on a Minion mask because the Princess of PATCHES likes Minions & Mickey Mouse. Princess holds a special place in everyone s heart. Bob talked a little bit about her at the gala. She is a very sick little girl. Her struggle started at birth. In October she turned 9. Bob, Jose & Erica stopped by to wish her a Happy Birthday but she slept through their visit. PATCHES CFO Steve Sapp

Jazz Singer Nicole Henry & Bob

PATCHES is a licensed 501 C 3 not for profit pediatric nursing center for children birth to age 21 with complex medical conditions. The center is open five days a week, twelve hours a day providing skilled nursing care and therapies as prescribed by the child s physician. We rely upon the support and love of the community to help us meet many of the needs as we are a Medicaid fee for service. NO CHILD IS TURNED AWAY FOR THE LACK OF ABILITY TO PAY if they meet medical criteria. We extend an invitation to you all to visit the center when your schedule will allow. We will be glad to give you a tour. There are many names and photos that were not included in this newsletter due to space for which we are sorry. Each and everyone of you were very important to the success of this event. Newsletter By: S. Fields 11/14/14
