Page 6 of European Technica Assessment If in a European Technica Assessment according to ETAG 015 screws according to EN 14592 are specified to connect three-dimensiona naiing pates, Würth screws according to ETA-11/0190 may be considered equivaent, provided that the assumptions regarding the screws in the ETA according to ETAG 015 are met. Würth "ASSY pus VG" and "ASSY" screws with fu thread may be used for reinforcing of timber structures perpendicuar to the grain. Würth "ASSY pus VG" screws and fuy threaded "ASSY" screws with an outer thread diameter of d = 8 mm may aso be used for shear reinforcement. Würth screws with an outer thread diameter of at east 6 mm may be used for the fixing of therma insuation materia on top of rafters or on wood-based members in vertica façades. A.1.3 Use Conditions (environmenta conditions) The corrosion protection of the Würth screws is specified in Annex A.2.6. With regards to the use and the environmenta conditions, the nationa provisions of the pace of instaation appy. A.1.4 Instaation provisions EN 1995-1-1 12 in conjunction with the respective nationa annex appies for the instaation. A minimum of two screws sha be used for connections in oad-bearing timber structures. When fixing boards, battens or intermediate connections of wind braces ony one screw may be used. This aso appies for the fixing of rafters, purins or simiar on main beams or top pates, if the member is fixed with at east two screws in tota. Ony one screw may be used in structura connections when the minimum penetration ength of the screw is 20 d and the screw is systematic axiay oaded. In the case the screw is used to connect wood-based members the oadbearing capacity of the screw sha be reduced by 50 %. If the screw is used as tensie or compressive reinforcement of timber structures perpendicuar to the grain no reduction of the oad-bearing capacity of the screw is necessary. The screws are either driven into the wood-based member made of softwood without pre-driing or in pre-dried hoes with a diameter according to Tabe A.1.1. The screws are driven into wood-based members made of beech, ash or oak except LVL made from beech according to EN 14374 or FST according to ETA-14/0354 in pre-dried hoes with a diameter according to Tabe A.1.1.
