Stage 31 1 3 4 2 This stage s parts 1 - Wing tip ribs (lower) 2 - Rib 10 reinforcements 3 - Tube 4 - Wooden strip 3 x 3 x 300mm You will need Pencil Knife Sandpaper Glue 1 2 F E D C B A 1 G D C B A Take the lower wing tip rib sheet, identify the parts and mark with a pencil, as shown. Remove ribs A, B, C and D from the parts sheet. 106

3 4 D C B A E F Test-fit ribs A-D in place on the underside of the wing tip. Glue into place. Now test-fit and glue ribs E and F into place in the two larger holes at the front of the wing tip. 5 6 G Then glue rib G into the notches in ribs A-F. Remove the individual pieces from the reinforcement sheet from Stage 20, and smooth with sandpaper. 107

7 8 Apply glue to the front of the fifth rib along the dotted lines. 9 Place the two shorter reinforcements flush with the upper and lower edges of the rib. 10 Now apply glue along the top of the rib. 11 Place the long reinforcement flush with the top of the rib. This is how the left wing should now look. Identify and store any unused parts. 108

Stage 32 2 1 3 This stage s parts 1 - Tailfin 2 - Wooden strip 5 x 5 x 300mm 3 - Wooden strips 2 x 5mm You will need Knife Sandpaper Glue 1 2 Remove the two rib 11 reinforcements from the sheet, received in Stage 25, and smooth with sandpaper. Position the left wing with the underside facing up. Apply glue to the outside of the second rib. 109

3 4 Now fit the reinforcement in place. Make sure, as with all other reinforcements, that it is flush with the edge of the rib. Now apply glue to the front of the rib. Look at the next step to see the correct location. 5 6 Place the reinforcement onto the side of the rib, aligning the outer edges of both. Remove the two parts from the reinforcement sheet (Stage 23), as shown. Sand them lightly to remove burrs and splinters. 110

7 8 Test-fit the reinforcement up against the rib, make any necessary adjustments, and then apply glue along the dotted line. 9 Place the reinforcement along the bottom side of the rib. Make sure it is flush with the edge. 10 Apply glue to the lower half of the front of the rib shown (dotted line). 11 Place the reinforcement flush with the edge of the rib, as shown. This is how the wing should appear at this stage. Don t forget to set aside any parts that haven t been used, and mark the identifying number on any ribs. 111

Stage 33 3 1 2 This stage s parts 1 - Left stabilizer 2 - Wooden strip 2 x 5 x 300mm 3 - Wooden strip 4 x 4mm You will need Knife Sandpaper Glue 1 2 Recover the rib 5 reinforcement sheet from Stage 23 and carefully remove the parts. Smooth them with sandpaper. Apply glue along the highlighted area at the back of the rib, as shown. 112

3 4 Place the reinforcement against the rib, aligning the edges of both. Now apply glue to the other end of the same rib. 5 6 Place the reinforcement onto the glued area at the front of the rib. Turn the wing over and apply glue along the side at the bottom of the rib. 113

7 8 Place the two remaining reinforcements on the side of the rib, along the bottom edge. Pass the tube from Stage 31 through the front of the ribs, starting at the wingtip. 9 Pass along until the end of the tube is approximately halfway between the first two ribs. Make sure the tube is resting in the circular recesses of the ribs and glue into place at each one. 114

10 Apply glue to the tube and the rib at the end of the wing, as shown. 11 The wing should now look like this. Keep any unused parts to the side. 115

Stage 34 1 2 3 This stage s parts 1 - Right stabilizer 2 - Wooden strip 2 x 5 x 300mm 3 - Wing antenna You will need Knife Sandpaper Glue 1 2 Take the rib 9 reinforcements provided with Stage 30. Remove all of the parts from the sheet, then smooth them with sandpaper. Apply glue to the rib of the right wing, as shown above. 116

3 4 Place the first reinforcement into position at the top of the wing, on the wingtip side. Now apply glue to the front of the same rib. 5 6 Glue the reinforcement into place, aligning the top curved edges of both. Apply glue to the highlighted area of the rib located toward the end of the left wing. 117

7 8 Place the reinforcement up against the side of the rib, fitting the end into the notch in the spar. 9 Apply glue to the front of the rib, as shown. 10 Place the reinforcement against the rib and into the spar, aligning the top edges of both. 11 The two ribs should now be symmetrical, as shown above. The wings should now look like this. Remember to keep any remaining parts to the side after having identified them. 118

Stage 35 2 3 4 1 This stage s parts 1 - Tailplane elevator 2 - Wooden strips 2 x 5 x 300mm 3 - Joystick 4 - Tube You will need Knife Sandpaper Glue 1 2 Find the rib 10 reinforcement sheet provided with Stage 31. Remove the parts from the sheet and smooth the edges with sandpaper. Turn the left wing over and apply glue to the inner side of the end rib. 119

3 4 Place the reinforcement up against the rib. Now apply glue to the other end of the rib. 5 6 Place the reinforcement up against the rib and into the notch in the spar, making sure the curved edges are aligned. Turn the wing back over and apply adhesive along the inner edge at the top of the end rib. 120

7 8 Place the reinforcement up against the rib and into the notch in the rear spar. Apply glue to the inner edge at the front of the rib. 9 10 Now glue the two upper reinforcements to the end rib of the right wing. Turn the right wing over and glue the two lower reinforcements into place on the end rib. 121

11 The wings should now look like this. Remember to keep any unused or leftover parts to the side after having identified them. 122

Stage 36 3 2 1 4 This stage s parts 1 - Tailplane elevator 2 - Wooden strips 2 x 5 x 300mm 3 - Brass wire 0.5mm 4 - Tube You will need Knife Sandpaper Glue 1 2 Take the rib 16 reinforcement fret provided with Stage 27. Remove the two parts shown in the photo. Then smooth the pieces with sandpaper. Apply adhesive to the contact areas of the rib of the right wing, as shown in the photograph. 123

3 4 Place the larger reinforcement up against the side of the rib. Now apply glue to the front end of the same rib. 5 6 Place the reinforcement onto the side of the rib, aligning the curved top edges of both. Remove the two parts shown in the photo from the rib 8 reinforcement fret provided with Stage 28. Then smooth them with sandpaper. 124

7 8 Apply glue to the areas of the rib (right wing) shown in the photograph. 9 Glue the shorter of the two reinforcement pieces at the front of the rib, and the longer piece along the back. 10 Remove the two parts shown from the rib 8 reinforcement fret and sand smooth. 11 Turn the right wing over and glue the two reinforcements to the same rib as those in Steps 7 and 8. The wing should now look like this. Keep any unused parts to the side. 125

Stage 37 3 2 4 1 This stage s parts 1 - Fuselage reinforcements fret 2 - Wooden strips 3 x 3 x 300mm 3 - Wooden strip 4 x 4 x 300mm 4 - Antenna You will need Knife Sandpaper Glue 1 2 1 Remove the reinforcement with three holes from the fuselage reinforcements fret. Smooth the piece with sandpaper. Test fit the reinforcement part at the point shown in the fuselage. If it doesn t fit between the sides, then sand the sides of the piece until it does. 126

3 4 Apply glue to the piece and place it behind the frame, as shown. Now cut the two rectangular pieces from the fret and smooth with sandpaper. 5 6 Take the shorter piece and test-fit it into position (shown in Step 6). Adjust the fit if necessary and then apply glue along the dotted lines. Place the piece into position, in contact with the wooden strip and the fuselage side, and up against the frame. 127

7 8 Test-fit the longer piece into place. Adjust the fit if necessary and then apply glue to the contact areas (dotted lines). 9 Glue the piece in position between the wooden strip and the fuselage side. 10 Remove the two remaining parts from the fret and smooth them with sandpaper. Glue the first one above the longer reinforcement piece, on the other side of the strip and up against the frame. 11 Glue the other piece on the other side of the fuselage. These pieces will form the interior of the aircraft. The fuselage should now look like this. Keep any unused parts to the side. 128

Stage 38 2 1 This stage s parts 1 - Fuselage side reinforcements fret 2 - Wooden strip 3 x 5 x 300mm You will need Knife Sandpaper Glue 1 2 1 Remove all but the three smallest parts (arrows) from the parts fret. Smooth the edges with sandpaper. Apply glue to the contact areas (dotted lines) of the two pieces shown and fit them together, as arrowed. 129

3 4 90º 90º Make sure the two pieces dry at a right angle, as shown above. 5 Position the fuselage as shown and test-fit the assembly from the previous step into place. Adjust the fit if necessary and then glue into position. = = The projecting side of the part fitted in the previous step should be positioned at an equal distance to the frame behind it (shown on the left) on both sides of the fuselage. 130

6 Apply glue to the projecting part of the assembly fitted in Step 4 and glue the part from the fret of the corresponding size up against it. 7 Glue the piece shown into position up against the projecting part of the assembly placed in Step 4 and the fuselage. 131

8 9 This is how the parts should look from above. Take the longest part and glue it along the side of the fuselage and to the underside of the piece from Step 6. 10 11 The reinforcement at the front must be adapted to the curvature of the fuselage. The fuselage should now look like this. Carefully store any unused parts for later use. 132

Stage 39 2 1 This stage s parts 1 - Fuselage side reinforcements fret 2 - Wooden strip 3 x 5 x 300mm You will need Knife Sandpaper Glue Tweezers 1 2 1 Remove the parts from the fret received with this stage. Smooth the edges with sandpaper. 133 Apply glue to the front of the part of the reinforcement that projects from the right side of the fuselage.

3 4 Glue the corresponding piece (Step 1) to the front part of the reinforcement. Test-fit the part shown behind the projecting part of the reinforcement, adjust the fit if necessary, and then glue into place. 5 6 Shape the large reinforcement to fit along the bottom of the fuselage and then glue into place. Remove the three pieces from the fret received with the previous stage. Smooth them with sandpaper. 134

7 Apply glue to the smallest and largest of the three reinforcements and place them into the slots in the reinforcement along the left side of the fuselage, as shown. 8 Glue the medium of the three reinforcements into place on the rear piece. 135

9 10 Repeat the process in Step 7 with the large and small of the three reinforcement pieces on the right side of the fuselage. Then glue the middle-sized piece into place on the rear reinforcement, as shown. 11 The fuselage should now look like this. Keep the unused wooden strip to one side for later use. 136

Stage 40 3 2 1 This stage s parts 1 - Tailfin flap 2 - Wooden strips 2 x 5 x 300mm 3 - Hinge sprue You will need Knife Sandpaper Glue 1 2 Take the rib 16 reinforcement fret provided with Stage 27. Remove the remaining two parts from the fret. Then smooth the pieces with sandpaper. Apply adhesive to the contact areas of the rib of the left wing, as shown in the photograph. 137

3 4 Place the larger reinforcement up against the side of the rib. Now apply glue to the front end of the same rib of the left wing. 5 6 Place the reinforcement onto the side of the rib, aligning the curved top edges of both. Remove the two parts shown in the photo from the rib 8 reinforcement fret provided with Stage 28. Then smooth them with sandpaper. 138

7 8 Apply glue along the top side of the rib shown in the photograph. 9 Glue the shorter of the two pieces at the front of the rib, and the longer piece along the back. 10 Remove the two parts shown from the rib 8 reinforcement fret and sand smooth. 11 Turn the wing over and glue the two pieces to the same rib. The left wing should now look like this. Keep any unused parts to one side. 139
