Trim away the excess fabric from behind the triangle ¼ away from the sewn seam. 14. ollow igure 22 for the seam direction to add a 2 ⅜ abric square to each of the remaining corners of the Unit 13 strip to make (1) Scrappy Side Border (ig. 22). 15. Repeat Steps 13-14 to make a second Scrappy Side Border. 16. Sew (1) Unit 1 block and (16) assorted Unit strips together lengthwise. Sew (1) 1 ⅞ x 3 ¼ abric strip to each end of the new strip. Sew (1) 1 x 28 abric O strip to the top and to the bottom of the sewn strip lengthwise to make (1) Unit 14 strip (ig. 23). Repeat to make a second Unit 14 strip. 17. Repeat Steps 13-14 using (8) 2 ⅜ abric squares and (2) Unit 14 strips to make (2) Unit 15 strips (ig. 24). 18. Sew (1) Block One square to each end of (1) Unit 15 strip. Sew (1) Unit 11 strip to each end of the new strip lengthwise to make (1) Top/Bottom Scrappy Border (ig. 25). Repeat to make a second Top/Bottom Scrappy Border. 19. Sew (1) Unit 11 strip to each end of (1) 2 ⅜ x 28 abric M strip. Pay attention to the unit orienation. Sew (1) 2 ⅜ abric M square to each end of the new strip to make (1) Top/Bottom nner Border (ig. 26). Repeat to make a second Top/Bottom nner Border.

Version A Only 26. enter (1) 10 ½ x 86 abric P strip on (1) side of the enter Block and pin in place. Start sewing the strip a ¼ from the top edge of the block and stop a ¼ from the bottom edge. O NOT TRM THE EXESS. Repeat with the opposite side. 27. Repeat Step 26 to sew (1) 10 ½ x 67 abric P strip to the top and to the bottom of the enter Block, making sure to stop and start ¼ away from each end of the block. To miter each corner, fold the enter Block on a diagonal, wrong side together. This should line up the strips from adjacent sides (ig. 27). 28. Starting at the sewn seam (represented by the arrow in igure 27), draw a 45-degree line to the edge of the fabric. Sew on the drawn line. Trim the excess fabric leaving a ¼ seam.
