Information Management Unit and Service Unit were created to support the EVC activities TC (Czech Republic) hosted IMU in 2008-2009, its main tasks included: - positioning of IMU within the EVC network and its web presence - description of existing Focal Points and definition of the target region - description of some of national innovation systems in the target region and identification of their key players - online questionnaire and some of its results prospects for the following phases of the project 21

The target users of the EVC/IMU are the following: Relevant institutions from the CEE/NIS region, participating in the TF Initiative, particularly those members of the EVC network; Representatives of Governments and parliaments as well as local administrations of the countries participating in the initiative through financing or other support facilities; Companies (especially SMEs) and business associations; and Professional and interest groups. 24

EVC mission to provide methodological and information support on technology foresight to industry and innovation policy decision makers, with a view to developing a foresight culture in the CEE/NIS region. The functions are to: Coordinate activities and provide advice and information on Foresight activities in the CEE/NIS region; Establish and coordinate a network of national institutions in the field of Foresight; Commission studies and communicate results to decision makers and the general public; Organize and support multi-country foresight exercises; Organize education and training programmes; and Prepare and organize regular Technology Foresight Summits. 25

IMU mission and objectives Information Management Unit (IMU) is an executive subject of the Eurasian Virtual Centre on Technology Foresight hosted by the Technology Centre of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic. Its mission is to disseminate information with a potential to raise awareness on technology foresight in the CEE/NIS region. Other objective is to provide complex information support on the regional initiative on technology foresight for the CEE/NIS as well as on foresight training activities organized by and its cooperating partners, which are already well established and are expected to continue. Apart of the information function, other of main functions of IMU are: Update of EVC internet website, Promotion and marketing, and Support of EVC activities and development of the EVC network.
