DAYTEN FAIL-PROOFING YOUR GOALS Having goals isn t enough. You need to put things in place to make sure you see them through. Below are three things you can do to fail-proof your goals 1. SELECT SOMEONE (OR SEVERAL PEOPLE) TO SHARE YOUR GOALS WITH Write down the person or people in your life who are a positive influence on you. They bring you up rather than pull you down. They encourage you in all that you do. They challenge you when it s needed. They listen to what you say and they always have some valuable input. This is who you will share your goals with. Its so important that this is the right person. You don t want to choose someone who you re not going to respond to. It needs to be someone you respect. Doing this as accountability partners is a great idea. Is there someone you know who has goals and aspirations of their own that they might need help with? Jot down some possible names (or just one if you already know for certain who you will choose) Togs in Business Page 2 8 Day Master Plan

2. BLOCK OUT TIME EACH WEEK TO REVIEW YOUR GOALS Reviewing your goals regularly is absolutely essential. This keeps you focused and on track and it allows you to plan your diary and assess your progress. It also allows you to see when things have changed or evolved and make any tweaks necessary. Think of a time in the week that would suit you best to do this. 15 to 30 minutes is more than enough time to dedicate to this. When is the best time for you to do this? Write some options in the box below. Now choose one and get you calendar out and BLOCK OUT THAT TIME every week for the next 12 months. Simply write Goal Review. Make it sacred. Do it at the same time every week and it will become a habit. 3. ACKNOWLEDGE THAT THERE WILL BE HURDLES AND RESOLVE TO NEVER GIVE UP Giving up when the going gets tough is the reason most people don t achieve the goals they set for themselves. Things come along to challenge you and you assume your only option is to pause and resume at a later date. Except that later date never comes, does it? Make a promise to yourself that no matter what happens you will not give up on working towards your goals. MAKE ADJUSTMENTS instead. Extend your deadlines as much as you need to and just do a little amount each week. Even if you only manage to work on your goals for 30 minutes each week - doing so will keep your spirit alive and make you stronger and more able to face your hard times. Because there WILL be hard times. Preparing yourself for them is so important. Togs in Business Page 3 8 Day Master Plan

DAYELEVEN FINDING YOUR WHY Working towards your goals is TOUGH! You start off pretty motivated and fired up but you can bet something will come along that rocks the boat. We ve talked about how you need to keep going no matter what and just make adjustments rather than give up. But how do you find the strength to do that? Because sometimes life is so hard that we just feel that we don t have any motivation at all. We have a bad day or a bad week or a bad month and we just say, To hell with this!. We reach for that chocolate cake, we decide not to go for that run, we decide to not get up early and write that blog post. It s easy to say Don t give up! But keeping on going is hard if you don t have the motivation. So how to you keep that motivation alive so that its there in reserve for when you just don t feel like it? It s all about finding your why. (And you NEED it IN ADVANCE of the hard times!) 1. In the box below and over the page - record ALL of the reasons why you want to achieve these goals of yours. What is internally motivating you? What s at stake if you DON T achieve them? Why do your goals matter? What will your life look like if you manage to do this? What will it look like if you don t? Don t worry about spelling or grammar - just let it flow out on the paper as quickly as possible without overthinking it. Togs in Business Page 4 8 Day Master Plan

2. Now look through that list of motivations. Which one or two are really going to push you forward? Which one or two do you feel most passionately about? These are your KEY motivations. They are stronger than the rest. They are the ones that will see you through the tough times. Use the box below to write down your one or two key motivations. Create a simple visualisation for each one and practice visualising it in your head. DAYTWELVE THE SECRET TO ELIMINATING OVERWHELM ACTION eliminates fear, resistance and overwhelm. Waiting around feeds them. A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step. But how do you know what that first, single step should be? How do you make it all seem less terrifying and overwhelming? 1. Use the following pages to brainstorm each of your SMARTER goals - there is space for 7 goals but you may have fewer than this! Just get everything you will need to do to achieve them down on paper without thinking about the order they will have to be done in and without bothering about neatness, spelling and grammar. Too much detail is not required (you can add this over the next 12 months). 2. Next you want to put this jumbled list into a logical order. What should happen first, then next and so on 3. Next comes the detail - but only for the first thing on your list. Nothing else. You want to take that first item on your list and break it down into every single, little step you will need to take to get it done. Do this until you know what the very first baby step will have to be. Remember my example when it came to creating the membership site. Simply purchasing a domain name was what it came down to. 4. Now schedule appointment with yourself in your calendar as many times per week as you can possibly manage. Be realistic! You will need time for client work and you will need time out to be with family and do non-work-related stuff. Make these appointments the same days and times each week and keep them the way you would keep any appointment. This is when you will work on the steps you need to take to achieve your goals. Nothing gets in the way of this appointment except illness or emergency. Even client work! If you need to shorten it from time to time, that s ok - but don t push it back. That s the beginning of the end. This is a big task. Spread it out over a whole day of a few days if you need to. Togs in Business Page 7 8 Day Master Plan
