Model Based Definition The future mode of product TPD 11-10- 2018 Leo Broers Project Manager ASML QC DE CSI

ASML organization Slide 2 Lithography is the critical tool for producing chips All of the world s top chip makers are our customers D&E in Wilton(US),San Diego(US), Veldhoven(NL) and Linkou(ACE) be ready for Industry 4.0: The fourth industrial revolution

The digital enterprise Slide 3 2D Drawings: is a 2D view on 3D reality is intended for humans can lead to misinterpretation Is sometimes inconsistent with 3D-model blocks downstream reuse and automation (Product lifecycle) MBD is one of the fundaments of the digital enterprise Industry 4.0: The fourth industrial revolution

The digital enterprise MBE = Model Based Enterprise Company wide strategy where an annotated digital 3D model of a product serves as the authoritative information source for all activities in in it s lifecycle Slide 4 PMI = Product and Manufacturing Information Product information that defines a part or assembly for manufacturing MBD = Model Based Definition Geometric and non geometric information that fully defines a part or assembly (parts:2018, assemblies:2019) MBSE = Model Based Systems Engineering System engineering initiative to create a digital model of a system that is used by all engineering disciplines and other functional organizations within a company. Model Based Definition with Data Management. (PLM)

Digital enterprise, impact and opportunities Slide 5 System Architecture & Requirements Mechanical design Electrical design MBSE Software engineering Product requirements. Model based design Design for manufacturing Modeling & simulation Config mgmt. Digital factory Service SLM costing Supply Chain Procurement Model Based Enterprise - Designers, architects - Cost engineers, supply chain engineers - Procurement - Manufacturing and equipment engineers - Production engineers - Quality and inspection - Standardization - Suppliers - etc.

Benefits & impact for suppliers Slide 6 <Date>

Benefits for Design & Engineering Slide 7 reduce lead time reduce cost improve quality no need for creating 2D drawings one source, one truth reporting, fast and accurate data re-use tolerance analysis, fast and accurate data re-use 3D reviews..

Benefits for product manufacturing Slide 8 Re-use in reviews, reporting and analyses: accurate and fast data exchange (see also D&E benefits) Re-use in Inspection: CMM Programming Re-use in CAM: Feature Based Machining

ASML TPD package for MONO PARTS MECHANICS (2018) Slide 9 AS IS TODAY 3D model Mono parts Assemblies - STEP file (214) - TPD 110 sheet (pdf) - 2D mdtpd drawing - GSA list, notes, tittle block - 3D ISO view - mdtpd GSA - Non-NX TPD TO BE 3D model with Product Manufacturing Information, (PMI) for mono parts. - NX.prt - STEP file (214 no PMI) - JT viewer; JT2GO - PMI 110 cover sheet (pdf) container for: - 3D JT file (viewing) - GSA list, notes, tittle block - 3D trimetric view - mdtpd GSA - PMI TPD GSA - Non-NX TPD

JT-file will be embedded in PDF Slide 10 Link to Cerberus

Changes 3D PMI design versus 2D TPD (1) Slide 11 GD&T in 3D model Dimension and reference to surfaces Working with views in the part navigator

Changes 3D PMI design versus 2D TPD (2) Slide 12 Review and change process in general remains unchanged Availability of change- and critical dimensions view Tip for reviews: each PMI has an unique number to refer to

Changes for the ASML supply chain Slide 13 Phase I Learn and get used to 3D PMI Working without drawings Little investments (PMI viewers) and limited benefits yet Phase II Benefit from the 3D PMI data Re-use in CMM, CAM, inspection, work instructions, Requires investments and implementation effort Benefits are potentially huge!

First step for the ASML supply chain Slide 14 Phase I Learn and get used to work with 3D PMI 1. All suppliers: > Review TPD and quotation process using JT viewer-3d PMI > Programming with STEP and JT viewer-3d PMI > Use snap shots from 3D PMI model for documents. 2. Supplier makes process drawings using STEP and 2D mdtpd 110sheet: > make drawings using STEP and 3D PMI mdtpd. 3. Supplier uses the 2D mdtpd 110sheet for work preparation (info to shop floor): > use JT viewer and snap shots to make documents/prints. > use monitors and 3D views at shop floor.
