1. Idea, concept, vision Conference of the International Shoulder Group ISG The ZHAW Zurich University of Applied Sciences is about to organize the 11th Conference of the International Shoulder Group ISG in 2016. The International Shoulder Group (ISG) is a collaboration of mostly biomechanically oriented research groups, whose main interest is in the shoulder. The ISG has been a Technical Group of the International Society of Biomechanics since 1999. The ISG aims to enhance shoulder research by creating a platform for discussion and the exchange of information, software and data. The International Shoulder Group ISG is a sub-group of the International Society for Biomechanics ISB and holds its conference every second year. Around 80 120 congress participants are expected for the ISG 2016 in Winterthur. Objective The key target of the Conference is an exchange of scientific knowledge among researchers, clinicians and physiotherapists about shoulder biomechanics. The conference covers topics in computer modelling and simulation, movement analysis studies and clinical trials as well as experimental biomechanics. 4. The topics of the Symposium The 11 h International Shoulder Conference provides you with practical contributions to different topics in shoulder biomechanics. The scientific sessions will be defined after abstract deadline, with respect to submitted papers. The sessions may contain topics about Computer Modelling and Musculoskeletal Simulation, Finite Element Modelling FEM, Implant technology e.g. artificial joints, OP-procedures, Clinical scoring, human movement science and socio economic considerations of healthcare systems. Rotator Cuff and Fatigue Modelling Ergonomics Neurological Neuro-Rehabilitation Clinical Population/Performance Athletics Methods All participants will receive a CD with the conference proceeding on it. Keynote speakers PD Dr. med. Matthias A. Zumstein, Bern University Hospital, Switzerland PD Dr. med. Matthias A. Zumstein is staff member of Orthopaedic Sports Medicine and Knee Surgery at the Department of Orthopaedics and Traumatology at Inselspital Berne. Prof. Dr. Tobias Nef, University of Bern, Switzerland Prof. Dr. Tobias Nef is currently Head at the Gerontechnology& Rehabilitation ARTORG Centre for Biomedical Engineering & Research in Berne. 5. Exhibition At the exhibition of the International Shoulder Conference you will have a business-wise opportunity to present your products and services and to establish face-to-face contacts to decision makers, experts, users and clients.
