Step 2: Assembling The Face (Part 2) Next, you will use the three counter top CAMs to pull pre-set 20.0051 to the desired length. Then tighten the CAMs with the 6mm Allen Wrench. 20.0051 20.0052 Tools Needed 6mm Allen Wrench Note When locking the cams rotate the head Tip This CAM leg is to full scale for reference of how far the CAM should be threaded for a
Step 3: Building the Interior Frame Now with the face together you can put together the interior frame. Assemble the frame using parts 20.0012 and 20.0015. Once these parts are in the shape of the frame use parts 20.0018, 20.0019, 20.0020, 20.0021, and 20.0022 to secure the frame together. 20.0012 20.0015 Front Frame Corners 20.0018 20.0019 20.0020 20.0021 Rear Frame Corners 20.0022
Step 4 : Connecting the Interior Frame to the Face Now you will secure the metal frame assembled in step 20.0031 Note When fastening the frame to the face of the bed, be sure to skip the third screw from the top to allow you to fasten the Velcro strapping in step 6. 24 IMPORTANT! be sure that the frame is of the face panels; meaning the front and sides of the frame and face panel has a small gap. (Note: front of face panel will be 24 from the upper handle hole.)
Step 5: Applying Stiffener Supports Now that the frame has been applied to the face of face. Lay the supports through out the interior side are laid out evenly across the bed, drill screw 20.0014 20.0031 Note Space the supports evenly when of the wall bed face, lining them up with the CAMs is the best way to do so.

Step 7: Attaching the Rotating Leg Supports Applying the legs is a crucial part to this installation. When installing the legs you will want to match the legs to their given sides (right and left). First you will want to put 20.0025 over the extending bolt on either 20.0016 or 20.0017. Next, apply 20.0024 on top of 20.0025 and feed the leg bolt with the washers through the hole in the frame with the largest diameter which is located on the front of the bed frame. Now you can feed 20.0023 over the bolt and apply the nylock nut that was provided with the leg. Refer to the image below. Now that the legs are installed you can attach the cross bar using 20.0013, 20.0028 and 20.0027. Rotate the bolt and the cross bar at the same time to create a secure fitting. 20.0023 20.0024 (Plastic) 20.0025 20.0025 20.0024 20.0016 20.0023 20.0017 20.0013 20.0027 20.0028

You may find it necessary to change these amounts based on differing mattresses weights and you lifting weight preferences.
Step 11: Instal Lift Mechanisms Next, install the left and right spring lift mechanisms (10.0034, 10.0035) on the left and right side panel (10.0001, 10.0003). Use a adjustable wrench to fasten screws (20.0037, qty 8) and nuts (20.0006, qty 8) 10.0001 10.0003 20.0035 20.0033 20.0037 20.0006 Tools Needed Adjustable Wrench Flat Head Screwdriver Important! Make sure the spring lift mechanisms (20.0033, 20.0035) are installed on the same side of the wood panels that the CAM Dowels 20.0039 are on.
Step 12: Assemble the Bed Frame inner-cam 3/4 turn so as to grab onto the CAM dowel. Do this for all Cam and dowel locations. Then install the four confirmat screws (20.0084 x 4) securing the sides to the crown. Locate the studs and place the three brackets (20.0040 x 3) where your studs are located. Mark the locations for these brackets on the wall and on the top of the crown. Now drill the mounting holes in the crown with the 1/4 drill bit. Attach the brackets to the crown using six Hex head bolts (20.0085 x 6) and nylock nuts (20.0086 x 6). Now secure your bed to the wall studs by inserting the six three inch mounting screws (20.0041 x 6) into all three brackets which should be flush to the wall. 20.0085 20.0086 Important! Make sure the bed is level and flush the brackets (20.0040) make sure wall, with no movement at all. Note You will want to use a wood block on the underside of the crown when drilling the Hex bolt holes to prevent chipping of your laminant.

Step 16: Installing the Face to the Wall-Mounted Frame In order to complete this step you will need two people one to apply the PVC pipe to the hinge arm (A) and one to engage the locking arm (B). First take the PVC pipe and wrap it over the hinge arm. Second, pull the hinge arm far enough back for the other person to slide the the top support nut to the spring mechanism. 20.0003 Tools Needed A B Important! Be sure to use the screw driver to push the lock in place. This mechanism has very high tension and could injure you fingers if not done properly.
Step 17: Installing the Face to the Wall-Mounted Frame Now with the hinge arm at the proper angle, yourself and using bolt #1 (in the diagram), on the hinge arms. Now that the 20.0003 down slowly in order for bolt #2 to secure itself against the hinge arm. Once this has been completed you will need the bolt 20.0003 (x2) and nut 20.0005 (x2). Feed the bolt through hole A 20.0005 and B, which at this point should be in alignment. Tighten the bolt and nut using an adjustable wrench. Make sure to tighten bolt and nut as secure as possible. Tools Needed Adjustable Wrench 1 A B 2
WARNING! Make certain that bolt 20.0003 has been securely fastened through holes A & B as indicated in Step 17
Step 18: Aligning The Bed Align Tools Needed Note
Step 19: Attaching The Handles To The Face The last step to finishing your murphy bed is to install the front handles. To do this you will need to bring the front panel down at a 45 degree angel and insert the screws (20.0055, qty 4) through the holes in the center. Here you will align the appropriate handles with the screws. Make sure not to over tighten the screws to the handle, this will prevent damage to the exterior face. 20.0055 Optional Handles 20.0054 20.0073 20.0072
Step 20: Applying Spring Housing Covers For safety precautions you will want to install the spring mechanism covers that are supplied. Choose either part 20.0009 or 20.0010 to apply first. Slowly take the cover and slide it down locking the tabs between the side panel and the lift mechanism. Repeat this for the opposite side. 20.0009 20.0010

Appendix A: Installing the Light Kit The first portion of installing your light kit is to properly mount the light fixtures (20.0068 and 20.0062) into the crown portion of the bed (10.0006). After feeding the light fixtures through the crown you will use the light housing ring (20.0065x2) and the housing ring bolt (20.0064x2), to secure the fixture between the crown. Once the fixtures and rings are in place make sure that both of them are flush to the surface of both the bottom and top side of the panel. After this is completed you are now able to mount the housing rings to the crown using the quadrex screws (20.0031x6). It is important that the ring has a good grasp on the light fixture housing, because this is it holds the fixtures in place. 10.0006 20.0068 or 20.0062 20.0065 20.0064 20.0031 Fit the ring around the light fixture housing so that the ring is flush with the crown board and so is the housing.
Appendix A: Installing The Light Kit (Part 2) The next part to installing your light kit is to run the power relay (20.0063) and the lights shut-off sensor (20.0069). Connect these two parts and route them accordingly. Along the left side panel is a groove where you will feed the lights extension wires. Once you have reached the headboard you will feed the touch sensor wire up and towards the center of the head board where you will install the Old Creek emblem (20.0049) by using 20.0050 to the touch sensor terminal. 20.0063 20.0069 20.0049 Old Creek 20.0050 Tools Needed
Appendix A: Installing The Light Kit (Part 3) With the light kit now almost fully installed all that is left to cord and then into the your into your electrical outlet. In order to attach the sensor to the bed use the piece of double sided tape with the touch sensor and place it nearest to the panel where the relay cord is. 20.0069 Note Be sure to allow yourself enough room for the touch sensor to plug in.
