Condition: In an operational environment, a suspected faulty AN/PRC-112(*) is submitted for repair to your maintenance shop. Your supervisor directs you to test the faulty AN/PRC-112(*). At your workstation you have the following: Radio Set, AN/PRC-112 (*); Radio Set, PLS AN/ARS-6(V); Test Set, TS-4360/AYD; Program Loader, KY-913/PRC-112; Test Set, AN/GRM-122, DA Form 2404, DA Form 2407, local SOP, TM 1-1680-377-13&P-2, TM 11-5820-1037-13&P, DA Pam 750-8, and TB 385-4. This task should not be trained in MOPP. Standard: Tested the AN/PRC-112 in accordance with TM 1-1680-377-13&P-2 and TM 11-5820-1037-13&P. Special Condition: ne Special Standards: ne Special Equipment: Safety Level: Low MOPP: Never Task Statements Cue: Your supervisor has directed you to test the AN/PRC-112(*) radio set. ne DANGER WARNING Touching the antenna of the AN/PRC-112 Survival Radio with unprotected skin (hands, face, etc.), foreign metal objects or wet earth/foliage while transmitting or receiving will significantly degrade the signal, resulting in reduced performance of the radio. DO NOT transmit on 121.5 MHz, 243.0 MHz, or 282.8 MHz unless under actual emergency conditions. Beacon transmission on 121.5 MHz or 243.0 MHz frequencies may result in your location by the enemy and significantly reduce battery life. The frequency 282.8 MHz is designated as a Search and Rescue frequency. Page 2

CAUTION Ensure that the Radio Set is turned OFF before removing or installing the battery pack. The radio interface pins at the top of the Program Loader KY-913/PRC-112 are connected directly to the battery pack when attached. The power pins are live. Keep the cover for this connector in place whenever the Program Loader is not attached to the Radio Set to prevent accidental damage to the battery pack. DO NOT thrust pointed or sharp tools or instruments into the interior of the carton as damage to the equipment could occur. Remarks: ne tes: ne Performance Steps 1.
