Song 1: Gonna Serve (Auto advance) Series Title Slide: Bible Adventure 5:00 It s so fun singing with you, Kid-O s! You can sit down. The series we re starting today is called, and we re talking about how we can be wise with money. The awesome thing is, your grown-ups are talking about this in big church right now too! Whether you are four years old, or forty four, the way you use your money is important. Know This: Be sure to place all of the forest creatures (Rocky, Tweet, Mr. Bear, Ollie Owl, and Ellie Elephant.) Kid-Os, there are forest creatures all around this stage, who want to help us learn today. The first one we need to find is Rocky the Raccoon. Do you see Rocky around here? Do This: Find Rocky. Read his letter! It looks like Rocky has a letter for us! This says it s time for our Bible Adventure! Let s go! Bible Adventure Jingle Do This: Show kids the Bible. Kid-Os, the Bible is a book all about God. Since our world began, people have been learning about God, and when they saw God do something amazing, or learned something new about him, they wrote it and put it in this book! Today, we get to hear 6
a story about how one of the wisest people ever learned a lesson from a tiny little bug. Do This: Get the Bible storybook out and sit down in the chair. This story you are going to hear comes from the Bible, but we use this storybook because the pictures help us imagine what it might have looked like back when the Bible was written. The pictures you see in here are the same as the ones on the screen. Let s get started! Do This: Have kids help you turn the pages on the screen with an exaggerated arm wave. Picture 1: Solomon A long time ago, a king named Solomon was one of the wisest people in the whole world. He helped people make right choices, and even wrote books about how to be wise. Picture 2: Solomon in nature Wherever he went, Solomon learned a lot. He knew that God made this world, and everything in it. Solomon learned by watching birds, deer, fish, and even plants. Picture 3: The ant One day, Solomon was watching some ants, and wrote about how even though they are small, they work very hard. No one tells them to gather food or save it up, but they do. Ants are wise, because they do what s important and work without waiting to be told. Picture 4: Solomon writing Solomon wrote about how hard ants work, and we can still read what he wrote today! Working hard and doing our best are still wise choices every one of us can make. Series Title Slide: Great job listening, Kid-O s! It s amazing that Solomon could learn such important things from watching little ants. Did you know that we can make those wise choices, 7
too? Just like the ants work hard to get things done or store up food, we can choose to work hard too. Sometimes, we work hard to help our families, or to grow and learn. Other times when we work hard, we can earn money for our work! Then, we have to think about how to use that money wisely. That s what we re talking about for the next few weeks in Kid-O-Deo! Let s see, Tweet has the next letter for us, do you see a blue bird named Tweet up here? Do This: Find Tweet, and read her letter. Tweet s letter says it s time to learn our Memory Verse! Memory Verse 3:00 Memory Verse Jingle (Auto advance) Memory Verse: Proverbs 13:11- Money gathered little by little grows. This memory verse tells us something important about the way we use our money. Here s what it says! Do This: Read the verse from the screen. Working for money, saving it, and spending it wisely doesn t always feel easy, but it is wise. When we work hard, like Solomon learned about in our Bible Adventure, we re making a very wise choice. Let s practice saying that verse together! Do This: Practice the verse with the Kid-Os 2-3 times. Begin with your quiet voices, then do it in your normal voices, and finish with your super-duper loud voices! Know This: The verse with actions goes like this: Proverbs 13:11 (Open your Bibles). Money gathered (Bring hands together in a cupping motion) little by little (put fingers up in little motion) grows (arms out wide). Great job practicing your Memory Verse, Kid-Os! Let s stay on our feet and get ready to sing and worship God! Worship 3:00 This song is about how we can praise God every day! 8
Song 2: Praise the Lord Every Day (Auto advance) Series Title Slide: Try it Out 5:00 We really can praise God every day! You can sit down, but look around for Mr. Bear, because he s got our next letter! Where is he? Do This: Find Mr. Bear, and read his letter. Mr. Bear s letter says it s time to practice what we ve been learning. Let s get ready to try it out! Try it Out Jingle (Auto advance) Series Title Slide: This is the time where we get to try out what we ve learned today. Mr. Bear s letter had something else in it, too! It s a picture. Let s put it up on the screen! Do This: Show kids the anthill picture. Anthill Picture That s an anthill, where ants live. In our Bible Adventure, Solomon learned that ants can teach us something about wise choices. Now, we can t build our own houses or gather up food for the winter, but we can decide to work. There are many good ways we can start earning our own money. You don t have to be earning money right now, but one day you ll need to make money to buy things you need, go to college, buy a home, and even use it to go on special trips or to buy things you want to have. How can you get started earning money, then? One important thing to do is talk to your grown-ups. 9
Family talking picture. They might be ok with you earning money by doing some jobs around the house, or they might know a neighbor that needs help raking leaves, or doing other chores. It s important to ask your grown-ups before you do anything, though. They can help you decide if you want to start earning money now, or wait for a while. Series Title Slide: Even if you don t get money for it, working hard is a wise choice. Doing homework if you re in school doesn t earn you money, but it is an important part of learning and growing. Doing the chores your grown-ups ask you to do is a part of being a good family member. The older you get, though, the more you can find ways to earn your own money and use it wisely. Way to go Kid-O s, you were such great listeners. We have another friend, Ollie Owl, who has a letter for us! Do you see Ollie Owl up here? Do This: Find Ollie Owl, and read his letter. Big Idea 2:00 This says it s time to meet another friend of ours, Ranger Ron! He s going to help us learn our Big Idea for today. Big Idea Jingle Get on your feet, and get ready to learn the Big Idea with Ranger Ron. Know This: The Big Idea is, I can work to earn money. Big Idea Video (Auto advance) Series Title Slide: 10
Thanks Ranger Ron! It s so good to know that God cares about every part of our life, even the way we work and earn money. We have one more friend, with another letter! Do you see Beatrice the Bee around here? Do This: Find Beatrice and read her letter. Kid-O-Whampus 2:00 Beatrice s letter says it s time to stand, dance, and go Kid-O-Whampus! Kid-O-Whampus: Pretzel Kid-Os (Auto-Advance) Take Homes. Prayer 2:00 That was a lot of fun! You can all sit down. Do This: Show kids the family connection card and the memory verse card. There are two things you should get as you leave today. The first one is our family connection card! This helps your grown-ups learn what we were talking about today. The second thing is our memory verse card. This card helps you remember and practice the memory verse at home, so when you come back next week, you ll have it ready! Let s Pray God will always listen to you and care about you. God loves when you talk to him about whatever you care about, because he cares about you. Let s talk to God for a moment right now! Let s put our hands in our laps and close our eyes to help us focus on what we re saying to God. If you want to, you can repeat this prayer after me. Dear God, we love you. Thank you for loving us. Help us to work hard and make wise choices. Amen. 11
