Lobby hosting Online event: The organiser can decide to have only admins/observers create lobbies. It s possible to have players set the lobbies themselves, if there are a lot of teams and not enough admins. In any case, only admins or broadcasters can be using spectator slots in a lobby. No one else. Offline event: The lobby during the offline events are hosted exclusively by personel of Nintendo. No other spectators allowed (except a backup observer). Nintendo can decide to host the game from a player s console in case of unforeseen technical issues. 6. Team rules A team is allowed to be comprised of 4 players and a backup player, for a total of 5 members. Any player who is a minor should be accompanied by a legal guardian. If, during a tournament, the backup player is being used instead of a starting player, no more team changes are allowed for the rest of the tournament. Team stability rule: a team must not change more than two (2) players from the line-up with which they enter their National Championship. Should there be three (3) changes or more, the team will not qualify to the European Championship. The next team in line will be qualifying instead. Application of this rule: This rule is applied to any team as soon as they enter their National Championship (even in the case of a preliminary qualifier). This rule lasts until the end of the running season of the European Championship. Possible replacement players: If the winner of a National Championship must replace a player in a team, that replacement player must not come from a team that was in the Top 4 of that National Championship.

Teams are free to change their line-up as they wish only in between 2 European Championship (from the end of a European Championship, until the start of the next National qualifiers). Upon entering a competition, participants should be informed of the time and location of any LAN event they may qualify for. This may prevent some situations where players know in advance that they would not be able to attend that event they could qualify for, giving them time to prepare beforehand. 7. Hardware equipment for LAN During offline qualifying matches at all events, players will be using retail consoles with specially prepared save data provided by Nintendo. The tournament will always be played on the latest Splatoon 2 available version, regardless of how long before the tournament the version was made available. Players will be able to sit down, and they must use a Nintendo Switch Pro Controller that will be provided by Nintendo. Team members will be able to communicate with each other using a Voice Chat system, which will be provided by Nintendo as well at the event. 8. Code of conduct Players are expected to compete at the best of their abilities in the fairest way possible. They must avoid any form of cheating or unsportsmanlike behaviour. Examples of cheating include, but are not limited to: Hacking, which is defined as modifying the Nintendo Switch Hardware or OS, modifying peripherals or modifying the software title s code. Exploiting, which is the intentional abuse of a bug or exploit in the game to take an advantage. Intentionally disconnecting without a proper reason in order to get a remake of a losing game. Colluding / match fixing, which consists in a team losing a game on purpose in order to manipulate rankings, manipulate seedings, or to receive a compensation in exchange. Using Distributed Denial-of-Service (DDoS) attacks, or any other method, in order to make an opponent disconnect or lag during online matches. Looking at an observer s or opponent s screens while in game. Receiving the help from a third party (such as a spectator in the audience) while ingame, through signals transferred via electronic means (e.g. smartphone), or other (e.g. gestures). Using any illegal performance enhancer substances, or any unapproved legal drugs (in the case of medicine for instance). Prescription drugs may only be used by the person whom they are prescribed to, for the sole purpose of treating the condition, in the quantities defined in the prescription. Any attempt at cheating will be punished adequately, from a warning/sanction/ban system to immediate disqualification based on the gravity of the attempt. Nintendo reserves itself the

right to determine the appropriate sanctions at the time of the cheating attempt. Nintendo can decide to also ban the Nintendo Account and the console of any cheater. Unsportsmanlike behaviour, such as (but not limited to) harassment towards other players or Nintendo staff, will be punished with similar sanctions. Moreover, Nintendo will monitor for cheating activities during Online tournaments. Nintendo reserves itself the right to ask players for console or account information in order to further rule out or confirm cheating activities (such as, but is not limited to: In-game nickname, Support Number, Console Serial Number, etc.). Nintendo will never ask for any password information, nor share any player information with third party companies. Failure to provide this additional information at Nintendo s request will be considered as an admission of cheating and will result in sanctions up to disqualification of the team from all Nintendo events. 9. Disconnections If case of disconnection due to network error, independent of human will, the game will be replayed. The replay must happen if the following conditions are met: The disconnect happened during the first 2 minutes of the game The disconnecting team was not heavily losing in those first 2 minutes The remaining players on the disconnected side stopped playing immediately When those conditions are not met, it is up to the other team to allow a replay or not. During the replayed game, players who stay in must use the exact same weapons and gears they used during the original game. There are no changes allowed between the original game and the replay. Every team must report all disconnects that happen during a set, whether or not the game was replayed.
