Paul Leroy Paul Leroy (1960) has a degree in architecture, furniture design, graphic design and industrial design from the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts School of Architecture. Leroy has also been an apprentice under Professor Tage Luneborg. When he finished his studies he opened his own architectural studio in 1987, and the following year Paustian launched Leroy s Coffee Table. Since then, several design gems have followed such as the Paustian Spinal Table series and the Paustian Spinal Chair series. Paul Leroy s clientele is both broad and internationally based, and includes Norman Foster, Foster and Partners, Daimler Chrysler, Telenor, Egmont, Copenhagen Airports and Arthur Andersen. 1

Paustian Spinal Table The Paustian Spinal Table meets all requirements for size, shape and purpose. The light column construction makes the table top to look like it floats - and frees the users comfortably from annoying table leg. The tables are designed in a simple modular structure. The many sizes and heights allows for good flexible design solutions. The table is ideal as a conference-, canteen-, meetingand working table or as a dining- or coffee table in private homes. The table top is a 25 mm MDF panel, available with laminate, linoleum or lacquered veneer top. The table top support comes always in black painted steel. The frame is supplied in matt chrome steel with integrated adjustable feet. Besides matt chrome steel the columns are available with powder lacquer black (RAL 9011 gloss 20) or powder lacquer white (RAL 9010 gloss 20). Choose between 4 different tops; circular, boat shape, square or rectangular and 3 frame heights; coffee table, dining table / work desk and standing height, as well as several surface options. The Paustian Spinal Table series are available in different heights, depending on the tables desired function. The column is the flexible component in the series design, and determines the final height of the table. The Spinal tables are available in three standard heightsww, enabling the table to be used as a coffee table, dining table /work desk and standing height. Spinal Table Work Desk If the technique fails: In case of problems with the technical features of the table do not repair work. Review the checklist below and see if you can correct the error. If the checklist does not solve your problem, contact your supplier or Paustian A/S (telefon: +45 3916 6565) for assistance. Debug list: The table can not operate: - Make sure the table is plugged into the wall socket and the power is turned on. - Make sure the cable is plugged into the connecter on the control box. - Verify that cables from the control box are connected to the actuators. - Check that the cable from the desk panel is connected to the control box. - If the table still can not operate, contact Paustian for assistance. Do not use the table. The table sounds abnormal: - Make sure the table does not scratch against other objects. - If noise comes from moving parts, contact Paustian for assistance. Do not use the table. Only one leg is operating: - Check the plug for the moving parts and at the control box. - If the table still can not operate, contact Paustian for assistance. Do not use the table. The table does not operate smoothly: - Disconnect power. Reconnect the power and lower the table for resetting. - If the table continues to run roughly / obliquely, contact Paustian for assistance. Do not use the table. Basic setting: Press the down arrow button. The legs will then go to the bottom position. Then hold the button for at least 6 seconds after all legs have reached the bottom position. In certain types of errors, this must be done twice in succession. Now the table is in basic condition. 5

Spinal Table Work Desk 2 5. Connect the wires between actuators, desk panel and control box. The plug design determines where the wire is to be connected. Connect the control box to the mains (220-240 V) and test that the actuators are working. NB: See section on daily use for further information. 1. 1. Spinal Table Work Desk 4 Before use, adjust the adjustable feets so that the table top is in level. Mount the cable clips to secure the cables.the cable clips are mounted around the two brackets on the top frame as shown in the drawing. The cable clips are closed and fixed. Maintenance The aluminium frame may be wiped with a dry or damp cloth. If a damp cloth is used, the frame should subsequently be dried with a dry cloth. Stubborn stains on the table top may be removed using a cloth wrung in lukewarm water. If this fails to remove the stain, a universal cleaning fluid in a dilute solution may be used, or washing-up liquid. After cleaning, the table top should be wiped off with a cloth wrung in clean water, then dried with a dry cloth. DO NOT place any hot or cold liquids directly on veneered or solid wood table tops. Always use a coaster or a trivet. Directly contact with hot or cold liquids will damage the wooden surface and leave stains or splotches. Especially on dark wooden surfaces. Disposal The frame and motors may be removed from the table top and recycled. The table top may be sent for incineration. 11
Guarantee Standard products are guaranteed for two years against manufacturing defects in the materials or construction. Wear or damages to the product are not covered by this guarantee. All dimensions are approximate. The table has been tested according to EN 527-2 and -3: 2003 Office furniture, work tables and desks.
