BEST ACADEMY Beginner 2 Elite Soccer Training Beginner 2 Elite Soccer Training Academy or BEST Academy has been set up and devised to help progress young footballers throughout the UK by delivering concise, individual/team coaching sessions on a weekly basis, holiday camps & 1-2-1 sessions. We are hugely passionate about the development of young footballers throughout the UK, our vision is to create a UK/Ireland wide coaching academy where players will have the opportunity to progress, ultimately into Professional Football. BEST Academy have been involved in coaching young players at different levels for over 15 years. In my years of coaching I have coached at Professional Level, held the role as Head of Youth at a top youth club in Edinburgh and also ran my own coaching business for a period of 3 years. Whilst I enjoyed all forms of coaching I have been involved in, the one that gave me most satisfaction was running my own business, why? Very simple, I had invested a lot of money, time and effort. I had 150 players attend weekly sessions, in this time I had numerous players progress into grassroots youth football within various clubs in Edinburgh, along with these players I had 8 players progress into Pro Youth Football with clubs such as Livingston FC, Dunfermline FC, Raith Rovers FC, Cowdenbeath FC & Hearts FC. The aim of BEST Academy is to develop players so they can move into their desired level. BEGINNER >>WEEKLY SESSIONS>>GRASSROOTS>>PRO YOUTH This prospectus will give you an indication of what the business is all about, our aims, objectives, goals & importantly our vision, if after reading this you think & feel the same and would like further information then we will arrange a meeting to discuss further. With any business you need to have the knowledge and experience to help you run & develop it, this includes marketing, budgeting, forecasting & profit & loss. These areas may seem daunting, however as well as being a coach I have also been General Manager of a business that has a turnover of over 1.2m per annum, with a targeted profit of 400k per annum. Not only will I provide the experience knowledge of running a million-pound business but also the experience of running and managing, developing a coaching business. This support will ensure that your business will go from strength to strength. In 2010, the previous coaching business I had, I was nominated to the Radio Forth Contribution to Sport Award. You have taken the initial small step, and that s all it is at present, however we hope that you will take a lot more small steps in helping you reach your professional coaching career. With over 15 years experience in coaching football and over 10 years experience running a multimillion business, BEST Academy has all the attributes to ensure you are able run a successful business. The contents in this prospectus will give you an insight into what our business is all about and how we can help you to develop the perfect business. b. OUR PHILOSOPHY Is to ensure that every player who attends the weekly sessions are developed and progress their individual skills. Any player(s) that attend any of your sessions are given the opportunity to play at their desired level of football. Is to ensure we help you develop your business, it s in our interest, if you re successful then so are we. We want coaches who are passionate about the development of Youth Football throughout the UK & Ireland, but we also require people who are willing to work hard to earn the right to be successful, this opportunity will only become realistic if you put the hours in. c. THE VISION To create a national academy throughout the UK & Ireland where young players have the opportunity to progress in football, ultimately into a professional club set up. To be successful in any walk of life, firstly, you must have an interest in what you are doing, a desire to make it better, as a coach your interest is firstly in coaching but the desire to improve players and make them better, imagine then getting paid a good salary for doing something you enjoy. We are seeking passionate individuals to join our growing team of coaches who want to use our expertise to turn your passion into a business, creating the next generation of football players. e. QUALIFICATIONS It goes without saying but being qualified is essential to the success of BEST Academy and its Franchisee s, without the correct qualifications, (see below), you will not be considered for a BEST Academy franchise. Do you have the following minimum qualifications from the relevant Football Associations? Scotland; SFA Level 3 England; FA Level 1 Wales; FAW Football Leaders Award N Ireland; IFA Level 1 Award Rep of Ireland; FAI Kick Start 1 The qualification requirements are not expensive especially compared to achieving UEFA A or B Licence which will, in most cases will cost 1000 s. f. YOUR EXPERIENCE Along with the qualifications you have gained, you will also be experienced in coaching young football players, ideally we are looking for coaches who have coached for at least year either in a Boys /Youth Club where you will have completed weekly training sessions, developed & progressed these sessions and experience in dealing with match day situations, prior to you starting with BEST Academy. Not only do you have experience in coaching young players, but also how to coach them, how to speak to them, your mannerisms, your standards. These are all attributes that will allow you to flourish as a coach and succeed with BEST Academy. 5 P a g e

It is essential that every player has the option to progress through these steps, this will form the foundations of your business, it s what will determine your success as a BEST Academy Franchisee. 6 P a g e

SECTION 2 - Why choose a BEST Academy franchise? Our passion is the development of young football players, throughout the years we have developed players who have gone into various forms of youth football, from grassroots to pro youth. Always our aim is to develop players, by challenging sessions, the 'no pressure' environment, continually using the footballs in every session. Example; at BEST Academy, the level of qualifications required are stated above, no expensive licenses and a salary that will outweigh what level of pay you ll get at a professional club. Professional clubs will offer pay wise for a B Licence holder of around 20k- 25k for working 40 hours per week? However these positions are very limited. At BEST Academy, our business plans (which are supplied) allow you to coach for 10 hours per week, if you fill each session, (16 players), you earn between 30k- 45k per annum. There will be further explanation on how you will achieve these numbers, along with other strong revenue streams. a. HELP & SUPPORT Throughout your time as a BEST Academy franchisee, the support you will receive from us is unparalleled, throughout your first 3 months, you will receive a monthly visit along with planned weekly calls and e mail support as and when you require. We want you to be successful and therefore it is ultimately a joint effort. You have heard already what our philosophy and a little about what we want to achieve as coaching business. By signing this form, it is protecting your nominated area that you would like to have a BEST Academy franchise for 30 days, in this time no other potential franchisee will be allowed to tender for your chosen area. PRE FRANCHISE STAGE 1 Initial Enquiry / downloaded prospectus /sent prospectus Pre Franchise Information Form STAGE 2 CV & References Follow Up Please note for stages 1 & 2 you are not tied to anything, you will have 30 days to think things over, ask questions etc. STAGE 3 Proceeding 1 st Meeting organised (Initial chat, discuss, give out deposit agreement form & privacy letter. Go through Prospectus & business plan) STAGE 4 Return of deposit agreement signed with initial payment made, depending on the option you are choosing, will determine the amount. STAGE 5 Proceeding 2 nd Meeting organised (Training Day) (Final payment made prior to meeting. Sign Legal Agreement & go through manual, give out manual) STAGE 6 Coaching Kit send out. (The start of your business journey) d. THE FIRST 3 MONTHS This is the most important time in your business, you re laying the foundations of your business therefore to ensure these foundations are laid correctly there will be a very strict communications programme with visits at least once in the 3 month period. * (where geographically feasible). During your initial training, we will explain & go over your SMART Objectives & KPI s. Your smart objectives are as follows; Specific; Measurable; Achievable; Realistic; Time Bound; business plans that will allow to develop your business. targets that are set, easily to measure. these targets will be set to allow you to achieve, over a period of time. these targets set need to allow you to reach all the above set throughout in varying times throughout your franchise. Your KPI s are as follows; Key; Performance; Indicators; the main areas of your business. how your business is doing. areas that are working/areas that are not working. You will be given KPI's (Key Performance Indicators) to work towards, these are stats that tell you how well your business is doing and ultimately giving you a successful business. 8 P a g e

Although your business is mainly about coaching, your SMART s & KPI s will allow your business to be successful, as part of your franchise, BEST Academy will show you how to reach your continued objectives. 1 st month We will visit you, (where geographically feasible) watch a session or two, meet some of players and parents. It s always good to have help and representation from BEST Academy and will be of great benefit to you. 2 nd month; Review your first month, look over your SMART s, review your SMART s & set 3 rd month SMART s 3 rd month; Business Plan setting & review SMART s. Where geographically feasible, if we can t get to you the first two months, then we will visit you the 3 rd month. e. SYSTEMS & PROCEDURES You will have all the financial information available to you to ensure you are able to spend the majority of your time planning and coaching. Unfortunately, administration including all financial aspects are an important part, therefore all financial spreadsheets will be set for you so you just need to input the figures. Profit & Loss Budget Templates Business Plans SMART Objectives Key Performance Indicators (KPI s) Weekly & Monthly goal setting (SMARTS) Setting you targets, you are more likely to achieve when targeted to do so. OUR EXPERIENCES What is different from BEST Academy to other coaching schools is we are in the business of not only improving Youth Footballers but also retaining them, that is what will earn you a successful business. We ran our own coaching franchise over a 3 year period, in this time we had over 150 kids attend our weekly sessions. We know how to market you weekly sessions how to increase the numbers quickly how to retain the parents, the kids are easy!!! We have also been involved in running & managing a business with turnover in excess of 1.4m per annum we are experienced in profit & loss accounts, this is the part that will make your business succeed. In short we have the experience of running a multi-million-pound business, targeted to ensure profit of 400k each year, along with the experience of starting a football coaching business. 9 P a g e

We know it can be stressful, time consuming, (you will need to put the hours in) BUT ultimately very rewarding, there is no better joy than seeing players that you have coached progress & succeed in their own challenges. g. I HAVE A FULL TIME/PART TIME JOB If you have a full time/part time job currently then good. Whilst you will want to go full time with your coaching business, there is a time and place to do this. Unless you re financially stable, having regular pay each month is good, it allows you to build up your business on your terms. How do we know, because we done the same, had to work 50 hours a week but it gave us the opportunity to build up our business in a slow and mannered way. Should you get to the stage where you are contemplating going full time with BEST Academy, talk to us first, we will look at your KPI s, your Financials to give you our advice. h. SUCCESS What is defined as success? There are two ways to measure your success; I. The retaining of every player (retention) II. The marketing of your business (new players) Our business processes will allow you to maximize both points ensuring you increase your weekly numbers, very quickly. If you can get both of these correct then your business will become very successful, very quickly. How can this happen, very simple; excellent sessions brilliant customer service (remember the parents will decide whether their child keeps returning) ensure the players to have fun and enjoyment, no pressure. 10 P a g e

SECTION 3 - A BUSINESS FOR YOU. a. WHY CHOOSE A FRANCHISE What will you get? A franchise is basically a business partnership between the franchisor (the business) and you (the franchisee), you will receive and benefit from the following; Experience Training Support Brand Partnership, with other franchisees. Kit, coaching equipment & clothing This means you can start a business with the support of ourselves at a relatively low cost as the setup has been done for you. Like any business and specifically starting your business there WILL be risks and there are risks however the risk/reward is substantial when you develop a successful business. b. WHAT SALARY CAN I EARN There are two different types of coaches, one who will 'want' to work in an academy, earn around 10 per hour and some expenses, the other is one that will want to earn a decent living coaching football/soccer. Most likely at some point, we've all wanted to be Head Coach for that top team, the reality is there is such a small percentage of coaches get a top job, a bigger percentage who are trying to get a top job with the likely hood they'll not. The is very little job security in football, however a BEST Academy Franchise will give you the job security and a decent living. There are various different revenue streams that you can earn money from, the main source however will be the weekly sessions you run, depending on the amount of players you have attending your weekly sessions will determine your wage, below is a guideline but will give you an indication of what can be achieved. 1 player attends for; 12 months; 12 payments; 25* = 300; 150 players; 45k per year. *Your monthly rate/fee will be determined on where you stay, this will be discussed at our first meeting. As you progress your journey with BEST Academy, we will teach you what other revenue streams are available you and how they supplement your weekly income. 11 P a g e

You will need to think of things in two ways: As a coach As a business person This is where it can become difficult to try and do both, first and foremost you're a coach, you'll need to learn the business side and that's where BEST Academy will help you. SECTION 4 THE OPPORTUNITY Who are we looking for? First and foremost, you must have a passion for coaching & developing (young) footballers, have the minimum level of qualifications required & experience in coaching kids, however you also need to be; Driven Committed Determined Hard working Desired Business mindset If you have all the above traits, then we really want to speak to you. Running your own business is extremely rewarding but also very challenging. The hours you will need to put in huge, your commitment to the job is huge, however the rewards are huge. a. FRANCHISE FEES & OPTIONS 1. START UP FEE Unlike other franchises, not just football, we don t charge silly amounts to get started. We try to make it a simple and as straight forward as possible. There are 4 options available to you to for your initial fee, the main reason for this is whatever option you choose you are able to start your coaching business immediately. The first payment in the first 3 options must be paid prior to you starting your business, once this payment has been received then you will receive your operations manual, all your coaching kit, both equipment & kit. The 4 th option allows you to split the initial fee over 12 months, the first payment for this must be paid up front, again once this payment has been received then you will receive your operations manual, all your coaching kit, both equipment & kit. Option 1; Option 2; Option 3; Option 4; The cheapest and easiest option, payable over one payment Have the ability to split over 2 payments Have the ability to split over 3 payments This option is designed to allow you to split the startup fee over the first 12 months of your coaching business. If you decide to choose Option 2 or 3, (either 2, 3 installments) these payments are due on the 1 st of each month. If you choose Option 4 (12 individual payments) the following applies; First payment prior to the business starting, the remaining 11 payments are due along with the monthly management fees as per the schedule on page 14. 13 P a g e

MONTHLY FEES The table below explains how the monthly management fees work. If you have chosen option 1 or 2 then you will not pay any monthly fees until month 4, the cost then will be 4% of total revenue or 150 per month, whichever is greater {please see example below} up to month 6. YOUR TERRITORY When you take out a BEST Academy franchise you will be guaranteed to have your own area that no other BEST Academy franchisee will be able to either; Coach in Market & target players from your area These stipulations will ensure you have every opportunity to progress and develop your business. The size of the Territory will be discussed and mapped out at your first meeting with BEST Academy, however it will be a specific distance from your home post code, the distance is all dependent on where you stay however you can be confident that you will have a large area where you can coach in. c. LENGTH OF CONTRACT We are firm believers that Starting your own business Running your own business Coaching for your own business Marketing your own business Developing your own business......doesn t happen overnight, therefore you have the security of a 5-year contract to ensure you can have a successful & sustainable business. After your initial 5 years, you have the option to carry on for a further 5 years and so on. Once you have done the initial 5 years and you sign up for another 5 years, if you need to terminate there is a 3-month notice period at any point. In your operating manual that you get when you first start there is an 8 week initial guide that will start you off, this is a must do/follow to ensure your business starts immediately. d. THE NEXT STEP On receiving the prospectus and returning the pre-franchise information form you have exclusivity to your preferred area for 30 days. Therefore, no other coach will be given the opportunity become a franchisee in your area until these 30 days have passed. However, once these 30 days have passed and we haven t heard from you, your chosen area will be open to other coaches should this situation arise and then they will be given exclusivity for the next 30 days.
