4 PROCEDURE Remove the rear guard [for more detail see the UNITY MINI Installation Manual]. Loosen the screw that fixes the thin cord of the pin, to the small metal block (B), using a small Phillips head screwdriver. Remove the pin (A) from the weight stack. Remove the small metal block (B) from the thin cord. REV 1.0 LANG: ENG DATE: 2016.06.03 5/33
For each of the two weight stack rods, loosen the two grub screws of the bushing, using a 4-mm hex wrench. The grub screws are loosened from the rear part of the machine. Support the rods during disassembly, to avoid damage to the floor. If there are limit stops (C) on the rods, back off the 2 grub screws using a 4-mm hex wrench. Remove the limit stops from both rods. Loosen the threaded pin (J) from the lock nut (D), using two 22-mm wrenches. Remove the threaded pin. If the machine has a doubling pulley, see Annex 1. REV 1.0 LANG: ENG DATE: 2016.06.03 6/33
Remove the lock nut (D) and the telescoping cover/s (E). Remove the lock nut (F) and the thin cord support (G). Remove the ring (H), using the special 17mm wrench; block the selector shaft, using a T-wrench. REV 1.0 LANG: ENG DATE: 2016.06.03 7/33

Remove the weight stack cross (M) from the top. Remove the short weight plate, if present. Remove the plastic cap, shown in the figure, from the weight stack cross. Check the presence of the grub screw, if present, remove it. REV 1.0 LANG: ENG DATE: 2016.06.03 9/33
Remove the grub screw using a 4-mm hex wrench, if present. Remove the selector shaft using a rubber hammer. Replace the selector shaft with the one included in the kit (N). Insert the selector shaft (N), as shown in the figure, so that the holes of the selector shaft are aligned to the holes of the weight plate. Use a rubber hammer. Fully lock down the grub screw, if present, to ensure that the selector shaft does not rotate on its axis. Repeat the above steps in reverse order to fix the selector shaft. Assemble the two intermediatethickness bushings onto the additional weight plates included in the kit, using a rubber hammer [see Annex 2]. Insert the additional weight plates onto the rods. Insert, if present, the short plate removed previously. Insert the weight stack cross (M) removed previously. Tighten the ring (H), using the special 17mm wrench; block the selector shaft, using a T-wrench. The holes of the selector shaft must be aligned to holes of the weight plates. The blocking of the selector shaft with a T-wrench must be applicable when there isn t the grub screw, which fix the selector shaft to the weight stack cross. REV 1.0 LANG: ENG DATE: 2016.06.03 12/33
Lower the weight stack cross. Check that the pin can be fully inserted into the holes of all the plates, proceeding from top to bottom. 1 if the pin has difficulty going into a hole, check if the holes of the selector shaft are aligned to the holes of the weight stack plates; 2 - If the pin has difficulty going into a hole, replace the bushings on the weight plate underneath: Using the 1.5-mm bushings if the pin is obstructed by the upper part of the hole. Using the 2.5-mm bushings if the pin is obstructed by the lower part of the hole. Remove the front guard [for more details see the UNITY MINI Installation Manual]. -Tighten the grub screws of the two bushings, using a 4-mm hex wrench. The grub screws are positioned on the rear part of the machine. REAR PART OF THE MACHINE - Reassemble the limit stops and adjust them to the new height [see Annex 6]. - Reposition the two weight stack rods. Insert the support of the thin cord (G) and fix the lock-nut (F), using a 22-mm wrench. REV 1.0 LANG: ENG DATE: 2016.06.03 14/33
Insert the telescoping cover/s (E). Insert the lock nut (D). Insert the threaded pin (J). The three holes of the pin must be positioned on the rear part of the machine. REV 1.0 LANG: ENG DATE: 2016.06.03 15/33
Loosen the three grub screws (1) (2) (3), using a 4mm Allen wrench. Remove the weight stack cable, from the cable attachment (Z). Cut the weight stack cable (t) on the side of the cam (u) or cable attachment (z) [see Annex 7]. If the machine has a doubling pulley, cut the weight stack cable (t) only on one end. Reconnect the weight-stack cable to the cable attachment and tighten the three grub screws, using a torque wrench. The tightening torque must be 16.5Nm. The tightening torque must be 32.5Nm if: - the machine is a Leg Press, OR - the cable is big (d~7.9mm). Before tightening the grub screws, check if the cable has entered into the third sector (3). Clean the weight stack, on the left of the front part of it. Apply the sticker showing the weights (provided in the kit), so that it overlaps the old adhesive and remove the transparent part. REV 1.0 LANG: ENG DATE: 2016.06.03 18/33
If the machine has UNITY MINI, you must follow the below procedure: - Clean the additional weight stack (reference: right weight stack rodrear part of the machine); - Attach the white reflective adhesive tape, positioned in axis with the right rod, on the additional weight plates. - Cut the adhesive tape at the top and bottom of each additional plate, with a cutter. - Pay attention that the tape adheres firmly at the edges of each plate. Fix the threaded pin and the lock nut, using two 22-mm wrenches. Check again that the pin can be fully inserted into the holes of all the plates, proceeding from top to bottom. 1 if the pin has difficulty going into a hole, check if the holes of the selector shaft are aligned to the holes of the weight stack plates; 2 - If the pin has difficulty going into a hole, replace the bushings on the weight plate underneath: REV 1.0 LANG: ENG DATE: 2016.06.03 19/33
Using the 1.5-mm bushings if the pin is obstructed by the upper part of the hole. Using the 2.5-mm bushings if the pin is obstructed by the lower part of the hole. Remove the additional weight, if present (O). (1) (1) Disconnect the two cables (CABLE C and CABLE D) from the weight stack sensor of the guide; (2) Remove the 4 nuts and spacers that fix the two guides and the plate; (3) Remove the two guides from the bolts, and then remove the plate. Rotate it by 180 degrees; (4) Cut the cable ties that fix the cables C and D to the plate; (5) Modify the fixing configuration of the additional weight support [see Annex 3]; (6) Modify the fixing configuration of the additional weight board [see Annex 4]; (7) Fix the two cables C and D to the plate, using one/two cable ties [see Annex 4]; (2) Repeat the above steps to reassembly the plate, the two guides and to connect the cables to the weight stack sensor. The following figure shows the final configuration of the thin cord of the pin. The below tables describe the procedure, in detail. Insert the pin (A) in one of the weight stack plates. Insert the thin cord into the hook of the support (G), from top to bottom. Insert the thin cord into the hole of the bushing (P), from top to bottom. - Insert the thin cord into the small metal block (B); - Before cutting the surplus thin cord coming out from the bushing, as reported in the Annex 5, verify that the pin enters in the last plate of the weight stack (the one closest to the ground). -Cut the thin cord [see Annex 5]; -Tighten the screw that fixes the thin cord to the small metal block (B), using a small Phillips head screwdriver. ANNEX 1: DOUBLING PULLEY 1. Block the levers. 2. Release the cable tension as described in the service manual. 3. Back off the screw (x) using an 8-mm hex wrench and holding its nut (y) in place with a 17-mm wrench. 4. Pull out the pulley and pulley cover to release the cable. 5. Back off the two screws (w) using a 10-mm hex wrench. 6. Pull out the support (k). 7. Repeat the above steps in reverse order to reassemble the pulley. 8.
