Welcome to TRR Opening doors to future working life 1

We are looking forward to working with you! Whatever you decide to do, your own motivation plays a massive role and this is where TRR comes into the picture. We coach and guide you one step at a time towards your new, and hopefully better, life. Pernilla, Adviser at TRR Why not watch a film where one of our advisers describes TRR and what we can offer you? Go to trr.se/english/client/ and click on the film.

I felt that the support my adviser gave me was extremely useful. Everything happened quickly and smoothly, I got lots of tips and offers that I had not heard about and would not have even thought about on my own. I also got help to finance a very good, 3-day course in marketing on social media. Very satisfied! Gabi

This is TRR TRR Trygghetsrådet supports private sector whitecollar employees when they are made redundant. Your company must have signed a collective agreement and be a member of the Confederation of Swedish Enterprise for you to be entitled to this support. Thanks to our long experience and expertise, we can meet you in your current situation and support you in finding a new solution. We have considerable understanding of your needs and we know how the Swedish labour market works. Our goal is that your period between jobs will be as effective and meaningful as possible.

Our offer to you Personal counselling As a TRR client, you will be assigned a personal adviser who supports and challenges you on your way to a new job, to studies or to starting up a company. You will meet with a person who has great experience of support and of coaching people to change and who sees you as an individual in this situation that may be disruptive, exciting or inspiring. TRR advisers also possess extensive experience of recruitment and jobseeker competence. TRR makes a difference Since its inception in 1974, TRR has supported around 500 000 people on their way to a new job, and the figures clearly show that our clients have been successful: 9 out of 10 of those who are actively looking for a job will find one. 6 7 months, the median time to the new job. 7 % start their own companies. After three years, 80% of these still have their company as a source of income. 4 % start courses of studies lasting longer than six months. More about AGE Read more about AGE at trr.se/english/financialcompensation/age/. There is a film about how it works and you can make a preliminary calculation of what you will be paid. At the beginning of your cooperation you usually maintain close contact with your adviser. You decide together how often you meet. Between your face-to-face meetings, you can catch up by phone or via email or Skype. If the road to a new job solution is long, it feels good to know that you may continue counselling for two years from your last day of employment. Transition activities may begin during your actual period of notice. We also provide support for people with health challanges. Redundancy pay (AGE) AGE is financial support as a complement to unemployment insurance for employees who have been made redundant. The following conditions apply for eligibility for AGE: A monthly salary of at least SEK 27 100. 40 years of age on your last day of employment with salary. Have worked at least five years in a company who has a contract with TRR.

Your new situation Going from being an employee with fixed routines, social context and financial security to becoming a jobseeker can mean major upheaval. For some, redundancy is an opportunity to try something new. For others, it is an ending with frustration and sadness as natural reactions. However you feel about it, you have to deal with your situation.

Looking for a job is also a job Perhaps you have heard the expression Looking for a job is also a job, and this is true. The difference is that you probably have not chosen this situation. TRR is here to support you in your decision about your next step; what you want to do and how to get there. We offer individually-tailored advice, digital support, group activities and the opportunity for financial compensation. You can also take part in competence enhancement courses if you and your adviser feel it is necessary. Your motivation is decisive Your own motivation plays a major role in the design of the process. When you feel that your goal is attractive and clearly-defined, this will hopefully generate both energy and determination. You will then become your own boss and plan your activities for yourself in order to make progress. We act as your support to facilitate the process and ensure that your work is less solitary. For inspiration, why not schedule activities that you think are fun, and surround yourself with people who give you energy? We also usually give tips about arranging your week with clear objectives and responsibilities and acting as if they are your job every day. This often leads to you feeling more at ease with yourself. Family and friends can support you This new situation also means change for your family and friends. Tell them how they can best help you. Be very clear about what you need from the people around you, for example that they listen and understand that jobseeking takes a lot of time. Perhaps you could ask them about any contacts who could be useful to you in your efforts to find a new job?

The way forward When you come to TRR, the focus is on where you are now and in what direction you want to go. Together with your advisor you will begin work on finding a new solution. For a quick start, you re welcome to log in to TRR Online. This will be possible as soon as your TRR application has been approved.

My adviser s support gave me self-confidence and a whole new future Peter TRR provides you with knowledge, supports you and challenges you Initially our support consists of advice concerning your new situation. When your goals have been defined, cooperation begins to adopt a more supportive and coaching approach. Your adviser s task is to help you find the motivation, drive and stamina to follow the process through. Additional support As complementary support to personal counselling, we also offer the following: TRR Online TRR Online, contains tools and tips that facilitate your path to a new job, starting up a company or beginning studies. Here you can find exercises, read about current events in the labour market or enrol in a group activity. 12 Current situation We start our work based on your current situation, your needs and expectations form its foundation. You plan how you are going to reach your goal and receive support from your adviser in establishing a schedule and activity plan. Irrespective of whether you want a new job, to start up your own company or to study, we will help you get started. 13 New job If your aim is a new job, we design our counselling and coaching so that you see an effective, clearly-defined jobseeker process. This is where you work with your competence, your labour market and marketing with support from your adviser, TRR Online and group activities all the way up to the start of your new job. When jobseeking, focus on the different elements: Competence The goal is for you to gain insight into the compences you possess that can lead to a new job. A clear picture of your skills often paves the way to a new job. Here we begin with questions. What can you do? Who are you? What do you want? What makes you unique? By reflecting on the answers, it becomes easier to inventory your skills and experience, increase your self-awareness and identify your values and motivation. You clarify your competitive advantage when you chart your competence and what you have to offer. It is also valuable to consider what is important to you and what makes you feel comfortable at work. 15 Been recieving help from TRR for a few months to land my dream job in Sweden. Very competent, great seminars. Vincent Labour market The goal is for you to see a clear vision with the help of knowledge about your professional role and the relevant labour market. To help you get a new job, you need to know the situation on your labour market. What do you work with? Where in the labour market are the jobs you are interested in? What is the future for the job you are looking for? You start by identifying possible professional roles and employers who may need your expertise. Think about what is interesting and what is required of you to become attractive as an applicant. It is also valuable to inventory contacts in your network who may be able to help you. 16 Marketing The goal is for you to achieve a good understanding of how to look for a job effectively and efficiently. Once you know what you want to work with, it is time to start your job search. We strongly recommend that you approach your next job in a proactive manner. Do not put all your time into applying for advertised positions, initiate contact with and promote what you have to offer to potential employers and within your network. From us you get support with how to write good application documents and practise how you present yourself in different situations. Instead of waiting for the ad that describes your perfect job, we help you to improve your jobseeking skills, whether it concerns how to approach your labour market with a good profile on Linkedin, a spontaneous application by e-mail or a well-planned phone call. 17 Their support has been the most important thing for me. Also the course on CVs and letters. Having my CV ready meant that I crossed a barrier and started applying. Rapid feedback and good advice, for example on how I could express myself differently in an interview and still make the same point, helped me a lot. Rebecca

Starting a company The goal is to support you up until you start your company, or take a decision not to. Have you ever thought of being selfemployed? Starting a company could be your primary activity or something you work with parallel while seeking a new job. TRR provides tools and activities to help you explore your opportunities for starting a business. You receive support from us all the way up to when you make a decision from development of concept and creation of business plan and budget, to knowledge of marketing and sales. Tips for exercises at TRR Online The exercises are in Swedish Jag och min affärsidé Marknadsundersökning Budget Säljträning Tips for group activities Starting up a company from concept to decision Web activities

Studies If you are considering further studies, you will receive support and information to help you make decisions about whether this is the path to your next job. There are many opportunities to improve your skills ranging from adult education and vocational courses to distance learning programmes at universities and university colleges. TRR can also support you financially for longerterm studies. These decisions are always based on individual needs and may consist of financing literature, travel or in some cases study pay. 22 Tips from previous TRR-clients See this situation as an opportunity to think about what you want to do with your life. Do not hesitate to ask for help, and dare to take it. On an ordinary jobseeker morning, rotten weather outside, nothing important planned I remember that today is the day that I am going to a lecture at TRR s pleasant offices. I experience a feeling of expectation and leap easily out of bed. Meetings with inspiring lecturers, spontaneous advice from my adviser and chatting with pleasant people all these things made me feel happier and improved my self-confidence.
