(HONORARY) BRIGADIER DR ARVIND LAL, PADMA SHRI Brig. Arvind Lal is a pioneer in bringing laboratory services in India at par with the Western world. He is an alumnus of the Armed Forces Medical College (AFMC), Pune, having received his graduate and post-graduate medical degrees from the prestigious institute. In 1977,Brig. Lal took charge of Dr Lal PathLabs, the medical diagnostics laboratory founded in 1949 by his late father. Under his expert guidance and leadership, Dr Lal PathLabs (LPL) has become one of the most reputed laboratories in Asia having to its credit a record of 28 labs accredited from the National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories (NABL, Ministry of Science and Technology, Govt. of India). He brought International recognition to the Indian Healthcare Industry in the form of accreditation from the College of American Pathologists (CAP - USA). Currently they operate 189 labs, including Asia s biggest lab at Rohini, New Delhi with 2,100 collection centres and pick-up samples from another 5,000 medical establishments all over India. The lab tests over 55,000 patients every day; in 2017they tested over 13.3 million patients. Dr. Lal has revolutionized laboratory medicine by introducing the maximum number of new tests, instruments and ICT (Information, Communications, Technology) systems in India. His R & D unit has done India proud by developing the latest tests in Molecular Diagnostics, Cytogenetics, Genetics and many more. The aim of the R&D division is to provide highly specialized tests at low cost to the weaker sections of the society. Dr. Lal is a member of many expert and advisory bodies constituted by the central and the state governments. He is accredited to having the first PPP (Public Private Partnership) in the field of laboratory testing with the Govt. of Tripura since 2004 and later with Govt. of Gujarat for testing over 30,000 new born babies in 2011-2012. In 2017, NITI Aayog appointed him as the Convenor of the Working Group on Diagnostics that submitted a model PPP to the Aayog that will form the template for future PPPs in diagnostics with the Central & State Governments.

He is currently the President of NATHEALTH, Healthcare Federation of India. Dr. Lal is also an active member of National Healthcare Committees of CII and FICCI and has played a significant role in promoting the Indian Healthcare sector abroad. He is also leading the Healthcare Sector Skill Council (HSSC) Curriculum Development Committee for Paramedical Training in the field of Laboratory Medicine. Dr. Lal was appointed as the Honorary Physician to the President of India in 2001. He has also been serving as a pathologist to almost all the past and present Presidents and Prime Ministers of India. His laboratory is the nodal laboratory testing the largest number of government employees in India from CGHS, ECHS, Ministry of Railways, Delhi Government and many others. He has been invited as the Keynote Speaker at IIM- Ahmedabad and also by the Harvard Business chool, USA. In 2016, IIM- Ahmedabad published a Case Study on Dr Lal PathLabs as a part of their teaching curriculum. Awarded with the Padma Shri, Dr. Lal is also the first civilian doctor to be granted an honorary Brigadier s rank in Armed Forces Medical Services. In 2015, under his leadership his company had one of the most successful IPOs in recent history of the National Stock Exchange. In 2016, All India Management Association (AIMA) conferred on Dr. Lal the Entrepreneur of the Year award. In 2017, Dr Lal is being conferred with the Lifetime Achievement Award by Federation of Indian Chambers and Commerce (FICCI).

Daljit Singh Daljit Singh is the President-Fortis Healthcare Limited, Chairman-Malar Hospitals, and a Director on the Board of Lanka Hospitals Corporation PLC, Dion Global Solutions Limited and HealthFore Technologies Limited. During his tenure of 15 years with Fortis, he has led the Company s Projects Function, Strategy and Organizational Development Functions and has held the office of the Chief Executive Officer. He has over 43 yrs of rich management experience in the Corporate sector. Mr Singh has been a pivotal member of the top management team of Fortis Healthcare that conceptualized, formulated and implemented Fortis growth strategy to position it as India s leading Healthcare delivery organization in a short span of almost 16 years. Prior to joining Fortis, Mr Singh was on the Board of Directors of ICI India, a subsidiary of the British Multinational, Imperial Chemicals Industry plc, as the Executive Director in charge of Human Resources, Manufacturing, External Relations and Communications. Amongst key responsibilities held at ICI India, he was the Chief Executive for Pharmaceuticals, Specialties and Catalyst businesses. He was member of the ICI Global Manufacturing Group, SSHE Excellence Group and the Global HR Forum. His key experience and achievements have been in the areas of developing progressive HR strategies and ensuring their implementation, organizational restructuring, building high performance culture and leading teams to deliver business value. He has successfully planned and executed significant change programs. Mr Singh is an acknowledged expert and thought leader in the domain of Healthcare Delivery. He has represented Fortis at Industry forums like the CII and FICCI and led several healthcare related committees. He is an active participant on the World Economic Forum platform and is on the Steering Boards constituted by the Forum to guide a number of major Global projects: Scenarios for Sustainable Health Systems, The Healthy Living Charter, and Health Systems Leapfrogging. He was on the Forum s Advisory Board on The Economic Burden of Non Communicable Diseases in India and is currently on the Global Agenda Council on Ageing. He has spoken on panels and presented to Indian and International audiences on themes related to Healthcare.

A certified Life and Executive Coach, he works with Top Management to enhance personal performance and fulfillment. He also leads and facilitates workshops on Strategy, Business Planning & Leadership. He has mentored and coached several leaders across sectors. He has supported, guided and worked with high performers and leaders in ICI, Mercedes Benz, Sapient, Ricoh, WNS, Carrier Midea, SI group, Schneider, PwC, M&M, CIPLA, Fractal Analytics etc. A graduate from the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi, Mr. Singh was a Commonwealth Scholar to the Senior Management Programme at the Manchester Business School. With an outstanding track record in the field of athletics, his current interests include athletics, high altitude trekking, adventure sports, spirituality, music and reading.

Terri Bresenham President & CEO, Sustainable Healthcare Solutions GE Healthcare What does Terri lead? GE Healthcare s Sustainable Healthcare Solutions business aims to serve the 5.8 billion people in the world with little to no access to healthcare through the development of disruptive, low-cost technologies and healthcare delivery solutions relevant to multiple care settings and non- traditional users. Her role includes regional leadership of GE Healthcare s operations in India and South Asia, Africa and Southeast Asia, focusing on addressing customer needs across these regions and working with governments, clinicians, private operators and NGOs to support their complete healthcare system development; from start-up phase through to established healthcare infrastructure build out. In this role, she also leads GE Healthcare s investments in affordable technologies, including the major R&D centers in China and India. And what led her here? Terri is passionate about healthcare and global health issues and has devoted more than 25 years to the field. She started her career as a clinical chemist, joined GE as an Edison Engineer and progressed through engineering and product management roles in Magnetic Resonance Imaging, Computed Tomography and Positron Emission Tomography. She also led GE s US Women s Health business, and global businesses including GE Ultrasound and GE Molecular Imaging. Prior to her current role, Terri served as President & CEO of GE Healthcare India, leading GE s vision of healthymagination in India an approach that aims to provide better healthcare for more people through solutions that bring costs down, increase access and improve the quality of healthcare. Terri earned her master s degree in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Texas, and her bachelor s in Medical Technology from the University of Tennessee. She is a board member of a number of healthcare organizations and is active in communitybased health projects.
