SEW WHAT S NEW Page 1 December 2017 December 2017 AN ANTIDOTE TO HOLIDAY MADNESS December is a crazy month, isn t it? There is the frenzied work to finish cute handmade gifts for friends and family and the realization that the ambitious quilt project started in July will not get finished after all. Then there is the usual cooking, cleaning, and decorating and the excitement of family coming home. Or the dread of holiday travel across the country to gather with family. The perfect antidote, of course, to all that stress is to come to our annual Guild Potluck on December 9th at 10 AM. There will be handmade items to bid on and buy for those gift projects you never finished, and there will be lots of good food to eat as you relax with your friends. And there will be live entertainment once again! Evon Carpenter and I often get together just to play for fun, so playing some holiday tunes for you at the guild potluck is a real treat for us. I look forward to seeing all of you there, as we celebrate the end of another great year. Jennifer Williams President fiddlinjenn@gmail.com

SEW WHAT S NEW Page 4 December 2017 WAYS & MEANS The holidays are here and November has been a busy month getting ready for the Crafts Fair. The fair went well even though it was fairly slow and lasted only five hours. Many thanks to Brigid who helped set up and helped all day. Kathy A. helped set up, and Emma helped us all day, even modeling one of the knit berets we were selling. We did sell $607 worth of merchandise. I am planning to have a mini crafts fair for my neighbors on December 2nd from 10 AM to 12 PM. I m hoping to sell more items. I will be bringing a lot of items to the December potluck for our auction event and will also have several items to sell as well, including some beautiful children s quilts and a couple of kimonos. We still have many beautiful items made by all of you so be sure to bring your $$ for your chance to get some beautiful things, for yourselves and for your gifts. I appreciate so much all the support from all the talented ladies in our guild. All your help has enabled us to be more successful. Penny Bamford Ways and Means Hospitality Ho Ho Ho. It is nearly time for our holiday potluck. What better way to celebrate the holiday than to come to our potluck and socialize with friends. We suggest that your contribution serves 8-10 people. Please include a serving utensil. Last name beginning with: A-E Appetizer F-K Dessert L-R Salad S-Z Main Dish Thank you, Nancy Laursen and Maggie Forys Hospitality Co-Chairs
