TITLE HYDRAULIC POWER - ENGINE DRIVEN HYDRAULIC PUMP VERIFICATION EFFECTIVITY REASON MODEL 525B (CJ3) 525B (CJ3+) SERIAL NUMBERS -0001 thru -0415 with 9912062-8 Hydraulic Pump Installed -0451 thru -0485 with 9912062-8 Hydraulic Pump Installed The equivalent of this service document has been incorporated on production airplanes -0486 and On. Early hydraulic pumps may have fit issues with the internal bearings that may allow the gears to contact the aluminum housing. DESCRIPTION This service letter contains instructions to do an inspection the hydraulic pump serial number. COMPLIANCE RECOMMENDED. This service document should be accomplished at a scheduled maintenance period or inspection. A service document published by Textron Aviation may be recorded as completed in an aircraft log only when the following requirements are satisfied: 1) The mechanic must complete all of the instructions in the service document, including the intent therein. 2) The mechanic must correctly use and install all applicable parts supplied with the service document kit. Only with written authorization from Textron Aviation can substitute parts or rebuilt parts be used to replace new parts. 3) The mechanic or airplane owner must use the technical data in the service document only as approved and published. 4) The mechanic or airplane owner must apply the information in the service document only to aircraft serial numbers identified in the Effectivity section of the document. 5) The mechanic or airplane owner must use maintenance practices that are identified as acceptable standard practices in the aviation industry and governmental regulations. No individual or corporate organization other than Textron Aviation is authorized to make or apply any changes to a Textron Aviation-issued service document or flight manual supplement without prior written consent from Textron Aviation. Textron Aviation is not responsible for the quality of maintenance performed to comply with this document, unless the maintenance is accomplished at a Textron Aviation-owned Service Center. Cessna Citation CJ3+ FAA Approved Airplane Flight Manual (525BFMA) PUBLICATIONS AFFECTED None ACCOMPLISHMENT INSTRUCTIONS 1. Prepare the airplane for maintenance. A. Make sure that the airplane is electrically grounded. B. Make sure that all switches are in the OFF/NORM position. C. Disconnect electrical power from the airplane. (1) Disconnect the airplane battery. (2) Disconnect external electrical power. D. Attach maintenance warning tags to the battery and external power receptacle that have "DO NOT CONNECT ELECTRICAL POWER - MAINTENANCE IN PROGRESS" written on them. 2. Do an inspection of the hydraulic pump serial number. A. Remove the lower engine cowl on the left and right engines. (Refer to the Model 525B Maintenance Manual, Chapter 71, Engine Cowling - Maintenance Practices.) B. Do an inspection of each hydraulic pump part number. (1) Go to Step 4 if the part number is 9912062-6. (2) Go to Step 2C if the part number is 9912062-8. C. (Airplanes with 9912062-8 Pump installed) Do an inspection of the hydraulic pump identification placard. Hydraulic Pump Serial Number Format 312 (no letter suffix) 312A 312B Required Action Replace Replace No Action Required Go to Step 4 3. (Airplanes with 9912062-8 Pump installed) Replace the hydraulic pump if necessary. A. Remove the hydraulic pump on the left and right engines as necessary. (Refer to the Model 525B Maintenance Manual, Chapter 29, Main Hydraulic Power - Maintenance Practices.) NOTE: A small hydraulic fluid sample must be taken from the pressure line of each hydraulic pump that is replaced when the hydraulic pump is disconnected. The sample must be collected in a clear container with a lid. The sample must be allowed to rest undisturbed for two hours then examined for metal particles. Contact Team CJ at 1-855-832-9831, 1-316-517-7785, or TeamCJ@txtav.com if there appears to be metal contamination in the hydraulic fluid sample from the hydraulic pump or the pressure filter. B. Remove the hydraulic pressure filter. (Refer to the Model 525B Maintenance Manual, Chapter 29, Main Hydraulic Power - Maintenance Practices.) C. Examine the hydraulic pressure filter for metal contamination. D. Replace the hydraulic pressure filter as necessary. E. Install the hydraulic pressure filter. (Refer to the Model 525B Maintenance Manual, Chapter 29, Main Hydraulic Power - Maintenance Practices.) Page 2 June 13, 2017

F. Install the hydraulic pump on the left and right engines as necessary. (Refer to the Model 525B Maintenance Manual, Chapter 29, Main Hydraulic Power - Maintenance Practices) G. Do a leak and operations check of the new hydraulic pump. (1) Service the hydraulic reservoir as necessary. (Refer to the Model 525B Maintenance Manual, Chapter 12, Hydraulic System Reservoir - Servicing.) (2) Remove the maintenance warning tags and connect the airplane battery. (3) Move the airplane to a location where engine operation is permitted. (4) Start the applicable aircraft engine(s). (Refer to the applicable FAA Approved Airplane Flight Manual.) (5) Make sure that there are not any leaks on or around the hydraulic pump(s) and pressure filter. NOTE: Any noted leaks must be corrected before going to the next step in this procedure. (6) Make sure that the HYD LOW FLOW L or R annunicator or CAS message is not on for the operating engine(s). (7) Extend and retract the flaps 10 times. (8) Make sure that the HYD LOW FLOW L or R annunicator or CAS message is not on for the operating engine(s). (9) Extend and retract the speedbrakes 10 times. (10) Make sure that the HYD LOW FLOW L or R annunicator or CAS message is not on for the operating engine(s). (11) Stop the aircraft engine(s). (Refer to the applicable FAA Approved Airplane Flight Manual.) (12) Make sure that there are not any leaks on or around the hydraulic pump(s) and pressure filter. (13) Service the hydraulic reservoir as necessary. (Refer to the Model 525B Maintenance Manual, Chapter 12, Hydraulic System Reservoir - Servicing.) 4. Install the lower engine cowl on the left and right engines. (Refer to the Model 525B Maintenance Manual, Chapter 71, Engine Cowling - Maintenance Practices.) 5. Remove the maintenance warning tags and connect the airplane battery, if not previously accomplished. 6. Make an entry in the airplane logbook that states compliance and method of compliance with this service document. NOTE: Textron Aviation recommends that compliance with all service documents is reported to Camp Systems International. Complete a record of compliance. (Maintenance Transaction Report, Log Book Entry, or other record of compliance.) Put a copy of the completed record of compliance in the airplane logbook.
