who are australia Zoo Wildlife Warriors? We fight for an extremely important cause - to protect our wildlife and wild places! Australia Zoo Wildlife Warriors was established in 2002 by Steve and Terri Irwin, as a way to include and involve people in the support and protection of injured, threatened and endangered wildlife from the individual animal to an entire species. Australia Zoo provides significant financial support to Wildlife Warriors, enabling 100 per cent of donations to go directly towards conservation projects within Australia and around the world. Saving thousands of lives at the Australia Zoo Wildlife Hospital The Australia Zoo Wildlife Hospital officially opened its doors in 2004, in memory of Steve Irwin s mother, Lyn, who was a pioneer wildlife carer in Queensland. It is now the largest and busiest of its kind in the world, treating thousands of animals every year. Open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, it provides a free service to the community and educates visitors to make a difference to our world through conservation. Where does your fundraising go? Australia Zoo Wildlife Warriors supports animals all around the world, from koalas here in Australia to elephants and tigers in Asia. All animals are important and they need our help! To find out about our conservation projects, visit: wildlifewarriors.org.au 3.
