1.HISTORY: Pan Asian Association of Maritime Engineering Societies (PAAMES) was organized to attain the objectives of Promoting science and technology in maritime engineering, Supporting the development of maritime industry, Exchanging scientific information, Improving the status of maritime engineers, and Enhancing cooperation and collaboration among the member organizations in Asia-Pacific countries, The 1 st PAAMES meeting was held in October 2004 in Shanghai, in conjunction with the 4 th New S-Tech Conference. The International Standing Committee (ISC) of the 1 st PAAMES decided to change the name of New-S Tech Conference to Advanced Maritime Engineering Conference (AMEC) in order to widen the scope and to strengthen the link with PAAMES.AMEC 2006 and 2 nd PAAMES, meeting were held in Cheju National University in Jeju Island, Korea in October 2006. AMEC 2008 and 3 rd PAAMES were held in Makuhari Messe, Chiba, Japan in October 2008, AMEC 2010 and the 4th PAAMES meeting were held in National University of Singapore, Singapore in December 2010. AMEC 2012 and the 5 th PAAMES meeting will be held in the Evergreen International Convention Center, Taipei, Taiwan during 10 th ~12 th December, 2012. 2. SCOPE: - Green Technology Development in Maritime and Ocean Engineering - Research, Development, Technology Development for New Concept Ships - New Technology of Maritime Industry, including Shipboard Machinery - Ship Navigation, Operation and Management - Short Sea Shipping Systems among Pan Asian Countries - Safety and Environment Protection at Sea - Port Engineering - History of Shipping and Shipbuilding - Maritime Education & Training - International Regulation - Offshore oil and gas production facilities - Renewable and Ocean Energy 1

TIME SCHEDULE: A one-page abstract (300 to 400 words): June 15, 2012 Letter of acceptance: July 1, 2012 Full paper due: October 1, 2012 4. LANGUAGE: The conference will be conducted in English, and papers submitted must be written in English. 5. REGISTRATION FEE: Early registration: Oct. 1, 2012 US$ 270 Late registration: After Oct.1 2012 US$ 300 Accompanying person: US$ 100 Student: US$ 150 6. PROCEEDINGS: The proceedings will be published in CD and booklet for abstract will be available to all delegates at the conference. 7.
