Our track record in enhancing our clients performance
Buoyancy stability monitoring systems, Guará - Lula (Brazil) Background Innovative solution EPIC scope for 4 buoyancy supported SCR riser systems with large submerged buoys supporting 27 steel catenary risers The buoyancy modules required monitoring during tow-out, installation and subsequent hang-off of the SCRs to provide information on the buoyancy structure stability during these key stages The stability monitoring system consisted of an instrumentation package that was retrievable by ROV. Instruments measured inclination, heading and depth as well as providing precise position measurement System data transmitted to topside vessel via an acoustic modem and via a dedicated umbilical Extended autonomy with power management and optimisation was included to allow for extended periods where the system would remain dormant until re-awakened 11
Suction pile manifold installation monitoring - Quad 204 (UK) Background Innovative solution Subsea structures incorporating suction piles can be difficult to install without incurring high levels of stress on critical weldments This project required monitoring of multiple key structural parameters simultaneously during installation to avoid damage to the structures and to allow a single survey package to provide all data from deck to final installed position Ashtead Technology developed a real time monitoring service that provides critical data on the shape of the structure and the relative attitude of the piles With positioning and orientation data also incorporated, this fully integrated one-pass installation monitoring package reduces vessel time and technical risk In addition to the real-time offshore benefit, valuable data is also available that allows post installation analysis of the structure response to refine models for future structures 12
VIV and FIV monitoring (Brazil) Background Innovative solution This client had a requirement to classify the modes and extent of vortex induced vibration of 10 and 12 flow-lines with free-spans in 10 locations on an asset for a period of 2 years The client invited Ashtead Technology as their sole sub-contractor to present a solution to undertake this work scope The system required tight integration of accelerometer, gyroscope and power optimisation systems along with data processing electronics into a very small overall package Also included in this package were Doppler current profilers and turbulence meters 13
Suction pile installation monitoring (North Sea) Background Innovative solution This client required an attitude monitoring system for installation of suction piles The system required configuration to operate with Kongsberg Simrad C-Node, configured for EM3000 protocol under Cymbal acoustic protocol Ashtead Technology integrated C-Node into the AMS system via the FlexiTxT display unit The system also provided battery management and remote control functions 14
Jumper spool metrology (SEA) Background Innovative solution The client required a battery powered remote metrology system that allows precise measurement of spools during fabrication and subsequent load-out High accuracy pitch, roll at three locations and length measurement between end points were required Ashtead integrated this system utilising standard inclinometers with battery power and UHF radio telemetry to a laptop software application configured using standard software library objects 15
Horizontal jumper connection orientation monitoring (Angola) Background Innovative solution This client required subsea ROV deployed autonomous inclinometer packages to monitor the attitude of the landing porch for horizontal jumpers for an Angola project Ashtead Technology integrated an ROV deployed battery powered autonomous inclinometer package utilising standard FlexiTxT display and Inclinometer unit Autonomy is 48-hours with batteries installed within the FlexiTxT display unit 16
Wireline tree installation monitoring (North Sea) Background Innovative solution The client required a means of monitoring depth and heading orientation monitoring whilst landing in subsea production trees with their wireline installation system The data was required to be displayed at the tree for ROV monitoring and also via acoustic telemetry Ashtead Technology integrated a precision depth gauge and fibre optic gyro into the AMS system via the FlexiTxT display unit The system also provided battery management and remote control functions 17
Offshore jacket & mono-pile installation positioning (EMEA) Background Innovative solution This client required an integrated data package for positioning and installation of an offshore steel jacket for a middle East project These projects required GPS position, heading and attitude to be acquired and transferred over a single UHF radio communications channel Ashtead Technology integrated GPS position data with fibre-optic gyro data utilising the programmable capabilities of the FlexiTxT unit and transferred data from the foundation structure via UHF data telemetry 18
Open data networks for multi-vessel operations (North Sea, SEA) Background Innovative solution Sharing of survey and inspection data across multiple vessels has been a challenge for the subsea sector New technology has however provided a means of multi-casting data across an entire project and to onshore Using intelligent networking technologies designed specifically for vessel operations, and having ATEX approval for hazardous areas, Ashtead Technology has provided a new capability in monitoring inspection operations aboard an FPSO which was openly shared across vessels This technology allows global access key inspection information in real time and is also being used between platform and vessel and vessel to vessel for construction and IRM operations Data connectivity both offshore and onshore 19
Riser flex joint metrology (GoM, West Africa) Background Innovative solution Maximising production uptime is vital for all operators This client had a critical issue in keeping deep-water riser systems and their flex joints fully operational Gulf of Mexico experiences particularly high volumes of marine growth and a solution was needed to provide a one-pass cleaning and precision metrology inspection of flex joints Ashtead Technology offers a unique solution incorporating cameras, lights and lasers onto a Flex Joint Cleaning Tool Enabled with streaming of high bandwidth video through the ROV s on board system High definition data processed into a 3D model giving a highly accurate point cloud that can be imported into engineering application tools 20
Hammered pile alignment and monitoring (Europe) Background Innovative solution Ashtead Technology to provide an integrated pile alignment and monitoring package that would withstand extreme shock conditions when operating around hammered pile operations High precision and robust integrated attitude monitoring system with power management and subsea digital data logging 21
Ashtead integrated systems applications Modular and highly scalable building-block based subsea control & monitoring system Allows be rapid and reliable deployed across a range of critical applications Proven systems already used on diverse applications around the world Capability can be deployed across a wide range of subsea control and monitoring applications Real-time monitoring and visualisation with recording of multiple axis data for post processing Wind Turbine Foundation installation Asset Integrity Monitoring Ashtead Technology Integrated Systems Subsea Structure installation Subsea Intervention Control Subsea Driven Pile Monitoring Pipeline and jumper Tie-in & commissioning 22
